Phenomenal. 100% in all aspects. The staff, professionalism, the quality of their nursery stock from trees to shrubs to perennials, to annuals is top notch. They are definitely a one stop shop. Beautiful place to find plants and seasonal decor for inside and outside your home. The pet section is nice as well and the store is also dog friendly. There are some really nice touches inside, like the free coffee area when you walk inside, the candle selection and unique gourmet gift finds you can buy and make into a thoughtful and tasty gift basket. I've visited here in the Fall and before Christmas and found some really nice presents for others and pretty ornaments. This place is much pricier than say a Home Goods or TJ Maxx type if store for similar items, but the brands here are unique, artful and top quality. read more

I have been happily coming to Pasquesi for 2 years now, but I just had a really terrible experience with their customer service and after reading the other reviews, I shouldn't be surprised. I excitedly bought a 2" Frosty Fern last Thursday to decorate my office for the holiday season. By Monday (4 days since purchasing the plant) morning it was completely dried out- the leaves are falling off of it as I type this. It is now Tuesday so I decided to look into their refund policy. The website instructs you to call their customer service number for information, so I did. Maureen let me know that I can bring the plant and receipt in and they would help me out. Great! So I drove all the way to the store and approached the customer service counter. Maureen called over an indoor plant specialist who she thought could better assist me. I gave her the same spiel that I said over the phone- that I bought a plant just 5 days ago and am looking for either a swap or refund. She was curt in telling me no and that I had clearly failed to water it. She then tossed my plant in the air to catch it, telling me it is obvious how dry I let it get. If the plant came with care instructions, if there was a sign in the area that said to strictly water the plant daily, if the cashier at the register while I was checking out gave me a heads up, then I would have understood the rude attitude. Caring for a 2" frosty fern was simply not common knowledge to me. There is a kind way to let a customer know they poorly mishandled a plant, and that was far from it. So, I walked out of the store with a scolding of how I do not know how to take care of plants all for $6, which they refused to refund me. read more

This isn't the place to come if ur looking for a bargain but they do have great plants. I was looking for somewhat mature bushes and the box stores like Home Depot or Menards didn't have anything that looked very nice so decided to spring for pasquesi's. Their quality of plants is 5star and they are very well staffed and work like clockwork to get you in and out. I also bought a nice fountain. So although I spent more than I had wanted to I was happy with the quality of the merchandise and the service at the store. read more

Since discovering Pasquesi last year, I've been generally impressed with their selection, and it's been a go-to stop on our gardening circuit. After an unfortunate customer service situation this weekend, however, I doubt we'll be back. We headed to Pasquesi to stock up on annuals, herbs and vegetables, soil, tools, trellises, and various supplies as we begin our spring gardening. We also decided to purchase a Green Egg outdoor grilling system. We got to the register, and had about $2,500 in merchandise. We decided to use a 10% off coupon we received as members of the Chicago Botanic Garden. When our order was rung up, it was clear the discount hadn't been applied. The associate assured us it had been, and told us we were getting $60 off. We double checked the fine print, and none of the items contained in our order were excluded from the coupon, so clearly wondered why there was such a discrepancy. We learned that because we received a 5% volume discount on some plants, the coupon wouldn't apply. We asked to decline the volume discount, but she said no. Most businesses will honor the better deal for their customer, but whatever I guess... We also learned the full price Green Egg wasn't included. When we pointed out that wasn't an exclusion on the coupon, the employee ringing us up asked another associate to weigh in. He said "Oh, Green Egg is never included." We asked why it wasn't listed among the coupon's exclusions, and he rudely said it simply wasn't, and we could look at Green Egg's website to see they never go on sale. (Why would I do that? I was shopping at Pasquesi, not through an online retailer.) We were sufficiently frustrated, and told them to remove the Green Egg from our order. The associate snapped "Good luck finding one cheaper elsewhere" and walked off. What a disappointment. I'm not actually that irked about the actual discounts, but I am supremely frustrated that Pasquesi didn't honor the terms of their coupon, and then were incredibly rude when questioned about it. This is my go to place for all my gardening needs. They usually have a really good selection of plants. Sometimes though if I get there a bit late they are sold out and that is disappointing. Mostly though I just need to get there earlier. Timing is everything. Usually the staff is quite helpful. There is odd staff member that isn't. There home and gift selection is really nice. I am often very tempted. And the pet supplies are always a a distraction too. I love that they are pet friendly and I can bring Fido shopping with me. read more

I have encountered rude and inconsiderate cust service people on two occasions by phone. Surprising the amount of vigor with which they tell me that they don't have what I'm looking for. As though I had no voice, they talked over my words and barely listened to what I was saying. Rude. Uneducated. read more

Live, laugh, love, grow! It's like walking into comfort, if one can do such things. There's so many lovely things here (see pictures), it's hard to shop for "just that one thing." And really, can you blame a girl for getting a little extra at the home and garden shop when Spring keeps popping up, then going back into hiding? From the moment I walked in, my senses were peaked. They had shelves of preserves and all kinds of treats. Oh, there's a kit for home donut-making! But then wait, oooooo, seed displays and black gold dirt for the taking. On the right, in your sight, spot funky socks galore...a must for me in a plant and gift store. There's a very cool pet section, full of tempting treats for the pups, and a greenhouse of large plants and seedlings and such. The staff is quite smart and they helped me a lot, telling me when to water and how to re-pot. Would I come back again? I can say that indeed when my plants need a friend and I buy more seeds! read more

We have been shopping at Pasquesi since they occupied their old location at old Elm Road and Waukegan Road. We usually shop four times per year, specifically for the holidays. People have commented that the prices are high, they are, but I'm happy to pay that price for the quality and level of service provided. This store is unmatched in quality and unique products. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The huge glass greenhouse is amazing and fun to explore. If you are looking for super high-quality spring fall winter or summer plantings and decorations you should check this place out. read more

Our Park District and Garden Club had a major landscape project this summer and we took advantage of Pasquesi's hydrangea and boxwood sale. Their beautiful specimens and great customer service made the entire process from start to finish perfect. Sandra assisted in the garden/nursery area and was super informative and helpful in selecting over 20 shrubs, bushes and perennials for our design. Additionally she explained that Pasquesi would hold all these in their will call area, water and care for them until we could pick them up. That ended up being a couple weeks which was super helpful to our small park district team in keeping all plants healthy. When our PD team was able to coordinate the pick-up , the nursery team was very courteous and helpful in loading our vehicles. Love the garden center! Miss their facility in Barrington so we continue tradition going to the Lake Bluff facility. We always bring our Weimaraner who is greeted by many shoppers and sales people & greenhouse workers alike. We love the beauty of their place....flowers, plants, etc. and always enjoy, the dog treat area. We nearly always come away with treats so we bought dog cookies for our Weim's 7th birthday. Mazie Grace loves going there! We love the selection of plants. We got Virginia Creepers there for climbing vines last year and they grew like crazy! Great advice on their care. Also we buy bags of mulch there, compost, trays of flowers, bird feeding accessories, and get a lot of ideas. We love getting our Christmas tree there also and have for the past 10+ years! read more

Simply the best home and garden shop, and the best place to buy a Christmas tree if you don't want to cut one down yourself. They hang the trees from the ceiling which allows you to spin the trees so you can see all sides. They have 6', 7', 8' and some 9' trees. They tag your tree for you while you shop around, and when you're done they put it on your car for you! They have an AMAZING selection of ornaments and holiday decor that changes seasonally. I also love their pet section. The place is dog friendly and the staff is BEYOND helpful and kind. The have complimentary coffee while you shop. This is a lifestyle outdoor living store. Remember that when you see the prices. That being said, they can afford to have knowledgeable, courteous staff and it shows. Plants are well-cared for, employees are extremely helpful, selection is varied and beautiful. I love going there to get ideas and products are beautifully displayed. I wouldn't get flats of common annuals here or common woody shrubs either, best to go to a nursery out past Grayslake that's family owned and with better prices. But for the more uncommon items and paraphernalia, it's a lovely place. read more

Jaw dropping... That's all I can say to describe this place. They have such wonderful gifts, plants, pet supplies, cooking novelties, etc that I just spent 30 minutes looking around and taking it all in (30 min is A LOT for me!). I then picked out a cute little purse/stuffed animal for my granddaughter, and some fun cocktail napkins, and headed home without losing my head! I WILL be back once I have a good holiday shopping list for gifts. It's just easy to buy so many things you don't need. I also took a star off, because I think it's fairly expensive. Don't get me wrong, they have really nice and unusual items, so what you pay is worth it. Am on the hunt for a store like Bachman's (Minneapolis, MN based florist/garden/gift store.) This one is the closest I've come across in my new area. Pasquesi H&G has two locations, but I visited the Lake Bluff store today. Very nice. Good selection of gift items, home decor and outdoor garden plants. Several different brands of candles, tea towels and garden decor, as well. If you like Vera Bradley, they have a great selection. Fun seasonal items. For Halloween, they have an entire exterior wall in the garden plant area FILLED with giant spiders. Very clever. Fun to browse. Will be interesting to see what they do for Christmas holiday time. read more

We needed to spruce up an area with some harvest decor. Pasquesi had hay bales, pumpkins in an assortment of colors, Indian corn, gourds, grasses, and those decorative cabbages. Customer service was amazing- lining our car with plastic and then loading our items for us. Yes, more expensive than other places, but you get what you pay for. I can see this as being a place to kill some time with girlfriends. Cute handmade dog treats. Cute gifts. Lots of Christmas decor was starting to be displayed. read more

My husband called last week for some assistance on a big green egg we purchased in 2015. It needs some repair. We spoke with Toni who assured my husband someone would call back. Well no call. So we went in to the store to get some assistance. Apparently the request was handed off to another individual. Who still has not called. We are going on almost 10 days. We were not asking for them to fix it only if they knew someone or a company who does repairs on eggs. You would think that because they are a big green egg dealer they would know for reference. It's okay to take our $2500.00 plus dollars but when a customer needs some assistance they just ignore you. Great job Pasquesi's you won't see me there ever again! I live in California and was in need to finding a Father's Day gift for my dad who loves gardening. He lives in an elderly community so I wanted to buy him a lemon tree that could be grown in his apartment. I was helped by a wonderful named Sally. I explained what I wanted and she immediately sprang into action. Told me about the indoor lemon trees that were available describing size and prices to me. She also picked out an affordable and tasteful ceramic pot that the lemon tree could fit in. She was awesome and so very helpful! In the matter of 15 minutes Sally and Pasquesi team had everything arranged to deliver the lemon tree with card attached the day before Father's Day! The best customer service and friendly people! This may come as a surprise since I have shopped at Pasquesi in the past. . I have always enjoyed Pasquesi's and went there today to buy some rose plants. The guy that offered to help had no idea what he was doing. I asked him where the Floribunda roses were. He had no idea! He tried to bluff and then finally said we don't have those. He thought that Floribunda was a 'double bloom'. We left and went down the tri-state and bought several roses at Pesche's (Golf exit then south on River) and got great advise and Floribunda's! They actually have them sorted by variety. We were pleased with the knowledge and the price. I think Pasquesi's is all about having a bunch of plants shipped in and not so much about having people that can work with what they have with any knowledge, especially for the price they charge those Lake Forest housewives. Very nice selection, including pet supplies and a "bone bar.". Staff very helpful. I have seen plants in better health (there was mold on the roots of some of the herbs I purchased), but over all the plants seemed well cared for. Very pricey compared to other nurseries, but depending on what you're looking for, worth it. read more

The 2010 Spring Art Show in the Greenhouse at Pasquesi's in Lake Bluff will be Sat., March 20 from 10 to 4 and Sun., March 21 from 10 to 3. The local club, Artists on the Bluff, has some incredibly talented amateur artists in watercolors, oils, pen and ink, etc., who will be demonstrating and selling their creations. Items available for purchase will range from inexpensive note cards to posters to framed masterpieces. Pasquesi's is a beautiful store with healthy plants and lovely seasonal gifts, as well. The store is bright, beautiful and impeccably maintained, a true feast for the senses. A few months ago I was frustrated by the service at the check out...really frustrated. When I expressed my displeasure Pasquesi's owner contacted me and addressed my concerns. This is an example to other local business owners as to how to run a business. Good selection of florals however very expensive. I really have a problem with some of their managers, Fred and Meredith. While I was shopping their after Christmas sale, I noticed that some of the things were broken, chips in ornaments, skis broken on a Byer choice figure, chipping melamine platter. I showed them to the managers so they could mark them "as is" so customers knew they were damaged. Instead of marking or pulling them, the manager rolled his eyes and said they are already 75% off and kept them out. I find that dishonest, customers may be in a rush purchase the item and only realize next year when they take out the item that it is damaged. They also act like they are doing you a huge favor by having a sale. They are so overpriced to begin with, they have to have sales so anyone in the middle class can shop there. It also annoying that they have thousands of ornaments but never order enough boxes and every year claim to be out. However they are always "out of boxes" when ornaments go on sale. I use the ornaments as presents and would appreciate having boxes for them. The support staff there is always very polite, respectful and helpful. Lois is also helpful. read more
