Food was mediocre. We didn't pay attention to the prices. Our bill was almost $90 and it definitely wasn't worth it. They have half portions but we ordered full. Half would have been too small and still would have been pricey. The quality of food did not reflect the cost. Will not be back. Got takeout from here on the way home last week. Absolutely amazing food and cocktails. I tried the tamarind margarita while I waited for my food and it was heavenly. All the other cocktails looked great too. We got the vegetable masala and the chicken tikka masala, both medium. It was a great level of spice and so tasty. Great rice and garlic naan, though the naan could use some butter on top. We will definitely be back to dine in and try more cocktails. Like for the special they had "Twine lobster Tails" When I asked the young server what that was , she confirmed that to be true. It was Twin Lobster tails. Most people I talked to said this so the best place around for Indian food. Only having had it twice before, I am not an expert but the staff was friendly and helpful. Our waitress explained what each dish was and gave suggestions based on our tastes. When the food cane it was delicious. We tried the appetizer sampler which was very good and we each got a different dish and were able to share and taste each other's food. The Marsala was a hit but my favorite was the rogan josh. The desserts were also delicious and we had one of everything including the traditional Indian dessert and rice pudding. We will definitely be back to try different foods. read more

There is a basic contract you enter when feeding someone. I'm not talking legalese or even just restaurant standards. On a human level, you take a complete stranger off the street and you promise to feed them. This is the most basic expectation. When you introduce money to the equation the expectations and some basic rights tilt in the diners favor. At this point I will notice that you have signs for Bud Light and Stella on draft placed on each table. It's annoying but not a deal breaker to learn the beer is only available in bottles contrary to the marketing. When you add an exorbitant amount of waiting time to the process that is another notch in favour of your humble, trusting, PAYING and by now an ever so slightly annoyed diner. If by now, you haven't annoyed your diner, add a skunky beer that is being sold after its expiry date, beyond the implications to health and food safety, this is the point at which goodwill leaves the building. Then the coup d grace. After an hour long wait, the delivery of a meal sans the main vehicle to consume it. In indo-pak food establishments the bread is not merely an accompaniment it is the main vehicle for each morsel of food. The roti, or nan is how one would feed themselves. At the point that the meal arrived and the management of this "restaurant" had the courage to hide behind their wait staff. Not even have the courtesy to come out to explain the failure of a food establishment to feed their patrons. That's where you lose me as a customer and things get downright insulting. In fairness the waitress understood that my meal was inedible without nan and I thought it was fair that I should pay for the beer that I did consume. This whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth for the judgement of management and their inability to honor the most simplest expectation. read more

We (my wife and I) went on a Friday night around 7pm. We didn't have reservations but fortunately none was required but I can see how having them would protect you for it later did become crowded. As soon as we walk in there was a live two person band playing instruments. The ambiance was nice to take family or wife on a date. The waitress we had was very pleasant, the food, for the appetizer we had the vegetable samosas. It was very tasty, the spice blend that came with the meal, there was a spicy one (the green looking one) had a nice kick. The dark sauce was sweet and a great compliment to the meal. For our main meals, I had the home made cheese in buttery sauce, was average my wife had the spinach and cheese, now that was very good and it was spicy. Nice place, good food and priced moderately. Okay guys, I finally had the chance to order from Passage to India and take it home to try. My chicken vindaloo was painfully delicious and at the usual spiciness of eternal hellfire. There were only a few pieces of chicken and maybe two chunks of potato. C'mon guys. My date enjoyed the lamb dhansak which had a few morsels of stewed lamb meat in a wonderful sauce with lentils. The nan for was fluffy and tasted great. Service was very personable and my only complaint is the PRICE. I will not becoming a regular any time soon for what the cost is! If only there were more options for Indian food take-out like they have up in NYC I would be in heaven! Overall, I may be back to quell my Indian food cravings. Not sure though. I am still searching in vain for a decent Indian food joint in SW Florida... Update: A word to the wise: I recently returned for a second round and found out the hard way that they are no longer open for lunch. They are now open 5pm-10pm. Apparently Passage To India of Bonita moved to this location six weeks ago. The room is not pretty, but servicable. The lighting is too dim to even read the menu. That might also be a function of the microscopic print on the menu. Upon entry, we were greeted by two school-aged children. OK I thought....small family restaurant. This could be a really good lunch! Not so fast, Mujibar! I had the Chicken Tikka Masala. and Mom had the Lamb Biryani. Each came with a small cup of soup and naan. The soup was a plain vegetable soup, lightly spiced, and with nice flavor. The naan was just plain blah. The meals were plated nicely. The portions were on the smallish side. I could barely see a few chunks of lamb in the big mound of rice. Service was quite cordial. Considering that the meals with two waters cost $30.00 including tip, I can't imagine finding my way back any time soon. read more

First time. I love Indian cuisine and have had a lot if it in other states for comparison. The quality and quantity were both fabulous. Serving size is typical from my previous experiences with Indian restaurants. Very complex flavors and nice heat at medium spicy. All dishes were prepared extremely well. We had samosa's, vegetable curry, dahl, naan that they prepared for me without butter, and the complimentary side of jasmine rice. I loved each dish equally! I would order them all again. We had attentive and courteous service. The atmosphere was nicely appointed with Indian music playing softly in the background. We decided to check-out only Indian restaurant in the Bonita/Naples/Marco area. It was a decent size restaurant and the decor was nice. The service was friendly and attentive. We tried the butter chicken, chana sag, chicken tikka masala and of course added garlic naan, mango chutney. Overall, the food was tasty. You can get mild, medium or spicy levels of heat depending on your preference. We tried the mild and it was very mild. I'm used to larger entree portions for the prices. We drove all the way out here from our hotel in a torrential downpour because we wanted authentic food... and were tired of chain restaurants. So worth the drive. We arrived right when it opened for an early dinner... and stuffed our faces. This is clearly an attempt to make an authentic Indian food in SW FL. Good idea, execution needs work. Unlike places I've been to in say, CA or NY, the gravies and the roti are a bit bland and under-seasoned. I think their approach was good but I wish they'd make the ingredients a bit tastier. The food here is DELICIOUS. The service at first was a bit slow, but it got better as the night went on. Staff is polite and knowledgeable on offerings. We had an absolutely wonderful dinner here. The restaurant is clean and quiet, the staff professional and courteous. The food is some of the best Indian food we have had. Nothing was under or over seasoned, and unlike other Indian restaurants I have been to, nothing was swimming in oil. The menu is extensive with plenty of vegetarian and plant-based dishes, which is very important to us and few Naples restaurants are veg friendly. We had the vegetable samosas and vegetable pakoras to start, sampled the chili, garlic, and paneer mint naan (warning: the chili naan is spicy with pieces of red and green chilies) taking the rest home. I had the Aloo Mattar Govi (medium spicy) and my husband had the Dal Makhani Sag (medium spicy) both were perfect. I don't even like cooked spinach and loved my husband's dish. We will definitely be going back regularly. Portions were generous and we took a ton of leftovers home. Prices were good, especially considering everything is made to order. The restaurant itself is very nice and the staff was very friendly. It took us almost an hour to get our food, it was Saturday night and very busy, we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. I found the quality of the food not very good, the vegetables were frozen and the sag paneer, had the paneer on top, not mixed in to the dish and tasted a little sour. The nan was good as well as the papadams. We ordered ras malai for desert and I was really disappointed. My friend liked it because she had never had it before. It came out hot, as if they just put it in the microwave. Ras malai is a delicate dish, with cheese balls soaked in cream and always cold, that's what makes it so good. We love Indian food. As far as we can tell, there are only two Indian restaurants in the Cape Coral-to-Naples corridor, and this is one of them. The other is much closer to where we live, but it was a Monday... so I ordered carry out and drove down to Passage to India. The young woman who gave me my order was perfectly nice. We had Chicken Du Piaza (standing in for Jalfrezi), Lamb Korma, and Saag Paneer. All three dishes came with their own separate dishes of rice: basmati with a few grains of turmeric-orange rice mixed in. The chicken was medium-spicy and pleased the person who ordered it. The lamb korma, mild, had perhaps six large-ish chunks of lamb, and the person who ordered it left most of it uneaten -- so my guess is, it wasn't irresistibly delicious, although he did not complain about it, either. The saag paneer was unusual in that there were about five small chunks of cheese included and they were on top of the saag and absolutely bright white -- as in, they were dropped on top of the saag after it was placed in the to-go container, rather than mixed into and cooked with the dish. I've never seen it done that way, and I order palakh paneer or saag paneer a LOT. It meant that the cheese was not very flavorful, as you can imagine, and there was also not much of it -- I wound up with a lot of spinach left after the cheese was all gone, even when trying to "conserve" cheese. The taste and texture of the spinach was good (not amazing but A-OK). It amazes me that there are not more Indian restaurants in this area -- there are some great ones up in Sarasota, where some of our relatives live. I'd think the Fort Myers-Naples area would be just as attractive to Indian restauranteurs. There's certainly a lot of room for competition, and a lot of local enthusiasm for the cuisine: we were willing to make a 40-minute R/T for the privilege of eating Indian food on a Monday! The restaurant itself was quite busy at 7 pm on Monday, and people seemed to be happy with their meals. read more
