A small shop located in the prettiest strip in Sonoma, we stopped in here while waiting for lunch. We were able to try the difference between Italian and Spanish rosé, as well as pick the knowledgeable server's brain about all things wine. He fascinated us with his stories about his own wine cellar and his passion really shone through. We were able to split a tasting here, and he generously gave us more than our fair share. Definitely worth a stop if you're eating nearby and have a little time to kill!

Absolutely loved this spot for white wine tastings! They had such a nice variety of wines, the staff were really attentive and the little table of charcuterie was a wonderful little bonus. We sat right in the back section and were able to enjoy the live music and open air environment. It is nestled in between these beautiful floral arcs and fountain which had a bit of a European flair. We had a great time and bought 2 bottles of wine so they waived the tasting fee!

I am far from a wine expert, but I think that with over 4000 Yelp reviews, I know what is a good business and what is not. Passaggio is a very good business. Across the street from the Sonoma Plaza Park and down something referred to as "Wine Alley" you'll find a comfortable and welcoming place to try a handful of tasty wines in peace. Our party of six had no trouble being seated and the gal working the room did a great job of explaining what was in the wine flight, how each wine was made, what tastes we could expect and really helping educate us on this very small hand-crafted wine label. Paced slowly and with great detail, I felt educated. And to top it off, the vintner herself showed up towards the end. Awesome to speak with her, understand her wine journey, where and how these specific wines were made, and where things are headed. So of course, I bought a bottle of Passaggio to take home and share with someone soon. I hope you'll do the same. Personal care and attention? Comfortable opportunity to enjoy a quality product? This is a good business. This is as good as it gets.

Truly one of our favorites. Spectacular small production wines, diverse selection, amazing owner and winemaker, Cindy, and a first class team, most notably, Frank and Sandy. A must visit if in the Sonoma square area and a wonderful Wine Club. You won't be disappointed!

Stopped in here after another place suggested that we stop here for whites since we were interested in purchasing some white wine...On a warm day in Sonoma, there's quite a few people at this wine room. This wine room was opened to the outdoors, almost like a alleyway. My friend and I both had a tasting.l and we ended up lo purchasing some whites. They had also a sale too...almost like a bogo sale. Service was also good too.

Very nice casual and friendly tasting room. My wife stopped in to do some tastings. I am not a drinker but sampled just a couple of theirs. They were very light and refreshing. The Bubbly Blanc De Noir was really nice. I would give this place a try if u are in the area.

We took my sister to Sonoma as part of her first time whirlwind visit to Northern CA and stopped by Passaggio for a tasting. Winemaker Cindy Cosco was in the tasting room that day and joined us and chatted while we tasted. Being relatively new to the world of wines it was fascinating to hear about her process and the nuances of winemaking. We tasted a Merlot Rosé with the prettiest light blush of pink that she explained was the result of pressing the grapes immediately after harvesting. Less time on the skins kept the color light and bright. The two different Pinot Noir's were a revelation each having been made with grapes from the Santa Lucia Highlands. One was made with grapes from Lone Oak vineyard the other from Hook vineyard. These two wines were made the same way from grapes that were grown in such close proximity to each other yet apparently just far enough apart to result in very different wines. It was quite fascinating to taste them one after the other. One of our favorite tastes was the Trousseau Gris. This wine has a lot going on and gave me visions of enjoying a glass while sitting outside under a pergola in dappled sunlight overlooking the currently very verdant hills of Sonoma County. It's kind of like NorCal in a glass which is why there is now a bottle of it in my cooler. Our other fav was Unmarked Sangiovese. The"Unmarked" label harkens back to Cindy's days in law enforcement - appropriate since this wine is quite captivating! ;) I'll be serving up a bottle of this next weekend with my homemade manicotti. Gotta love living in wine country.

Even being a local, I don't go wine tasting often. I'm not a huge "wino", but have been enjoying Trying new wines and wine bars this past year. This place is an absolute tucked away gem! This was our first stop of 3 wine bars... and Passaggio was BY FAR the BEST! Amazing atmosphere, love love the decor and the wine variety was perfect! Frank was helping us today, and he was so great! Definitely plan on coming back again with some girlfriends!

Came here on a whim after visiting Napa for the weekend found this wonderful tasting room the guy there was super sweet and let me taste some wines decided to grab a bottle on my way out

    2017 Bordeaux Blend

Cute little tasting room located in downtown Sonoma, but spectacular wines! The 2017 red blend was just the right amount of fruitiness. It was not too full-bodied so I was able to enjoy it just as it was. My friend decided on the 2017 Italian blend and she was a huge fan. At the time we went in (around 1 on a Sunday), they were playing live music which brightened the ambiance.

    A splash of their Roussanne.

Then the Fig went through changes, remodeled etc, lost some of its charm and Voila - along comes Poppy! The remodeling this time is spot on! The kitchen is now pretty well closed off to the dining room making for a much quieter and enjoyable experience for the quality of the food. The service was awesome, we never felt unattended. Our party of 6 enjoyed everything! I had the Mt Lassen Trout, a huge piece of delicious trout over smashed potatoes. My only complaint was the potatoes had absolutely no flavor, no seasoning at all. But the fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My dining companions had the Wild Boar over polenta and also muscles, and we started with the peach salad to share. Overall, a beautiful experience. Can't wait to dine here again at the end of this month!

We started with the steak tartare (which I almost always order from any restaurant) it was seasoned well with the classic accompaniments and tasty cornichons on the side, we also got a half order of the Acme epi baguette with their house-cultured butter. For entrées we opted for the Ragoûts de Fruits de Mer as well as the Truite du Mont. Lassen. Both were SO flavorful I couldn't choose between the two for a favorite. There were plenty of mussels and clams and the flavors melded perfectly with the pancetta and cannellini beans in the bowl. The trout was perfectly cooked with crispy skin, but I felt the filet of the fish was terribly small. Service that evening was nothing special, but was still a nice evening in Glen Ellen.

Our server, Patrick, was personable, knowledgeable, and truly went above and beyond. He gave us a great understanding of the history of the family winery as well as the nuances of the various wines. He never made us feel rushed, and we enjoyed sitting outside, taking in the beautiful views--and watching the tractor tours pass by--while we tasted. Patrick even shared side-by-side trios of Chardonnays and Cabernet Sauvignons to highlight differences in winemaking methods, vineyard sites, and soils, which made for a particularly interesting and educational tasting experience. In fact, it was every bit as informative and enjoyable as other tasting experiences we've had that were far more expensive, more formal, and required advance reservations.    The tasting room also features a wonderful selection of gifts and specialty items. By the end of our visit, we left with three bottles of wine (2025 Frank Johnson Sauv Blanc and two 2022 Three Blocks Cab Sauvs) along with several gifts and mementos. Benziger has a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere and is both kid and pet-friendly. We also stopped by their sister winery, Imagery, afterward and found it to be another Sonoma gem. We wouldn't hesitate to return to either.

You have to make a reservation for a tasting. Each tasting is $30ish per person and well worth the price in my opinion. It was my brother's third time visiting here and my first and I could see why he continues to go back. The porch has a beautiful view of the vineyards and the mountains. They are very dog friendly and brought a few treats and a water bowl over for my brother's dog. The service was excellent. The wine tasting was comprehensive and enjoyable. We even got to try one of their reserve wines that was off menu and that was probably my favorite (and also the most expensive, of course). We both enjoyed the Knight's Valley wine too that was on the tasting menu - I think I'm remembering the name correctly. Our server recommended a few other wineries and restaurants to us and she even gave us a coupon for a complimentary wine tasting at another winery if we purchased a bottle there.
