One of our favorite local wineries has relocated from Healdsburg to Petaluma and set up shop on Petaluma Boulevard North. When we saw an Insta for their upcoming wine pickup event with charcuterie and paella we were all in. When we arrive the party was in full swing with great tunes, killer paella and an amazing spread of bread and cheese. Staff were, as always, friendly and helpful, pour their whole menu of amazing local juice. Favorites were the Dragon Back Pinot and the Syrah. This place should definitely be a stop on any wine lovers tour of Sonoma.

Montagne Winery, Healdsberg, CA - September 19, 2024 We arrived on a Thursday at about noon. Montagne Winery is located at the Bacus Landing complex, which is a destination in and of itself. Yelp had a 10% off purchase coupon for Montagne, so we decided to taste here. Our server's name was Whitney. She was a very friendly and knowledgeable wine server. She has received employee of the month 22 times as of this writing. One of the cool things about this tasting room is they have an amazing vinyl record collection. They also sell records. The tasting room is spacious and inviting and they do play music on their high fidelity stereo turntable. They have a classic wine tasting and a reserve wine tasting. The classic wine tasting is $30 for five wines and the reserve is $35. We tried one of each. We had a couple of Chardonnays, several Pinot Noirs, a Sarah, and a Cabernet Sauvignon. All the wines were tasty. They also do brut champagne. Wine tasting fee is waived with a purchase of three bottles.

We love visiting Montagne Russe! Our first time visiting was actually last year for an Elite event at Bacchus Landing, a wine collective with multiple wonderful wineries, and we especially loved Montagne Russe that we got a wine membership! It was our second time visiting recently and the winery had such a cool event going on! They were doing an event called Pink & Paws and were serving wine, snacks, and had the cutest photo booth for puppies to stage at! When we arrived, we were greeted by Whitney, who has taken care of us previously. She's bubbly and energetic and made sure we were always taken care of the entire event, checking in with us regularly for refills and snacks. We also ran into Kevin, the winemaker, who was super friendly and welcomed us back. The winery has a focus on Syrah and Pinot Noir, but also has other styles of wine too. Many of their wines are very easy to drink, and the Syrah always surprises me with its drinkability. As mentioned, Montagne Russe is one of our favorite wineries in Sonoma. We can't wait to visit again soon!

"Rollercoaster of love, Oh yeah it's rollercoaster time" Montagne Russe is French for Rollercoaster! Winemaker, Kevin, is an engineer who designed rollercoasters - how cool is that?! Hence the fabulous rollercoaster mural on the wall in their tasting room. And their delicious single-vineyard wines are clearly made with love and careful attention! I went to Bacchus Landing (a beautiful wine collective) for the Labor Day celebration last weekend and we started our day at Montagne Russe, one of the tasting rooms there. We enjoyed the delicious and generous Russe Classic Tasting ($25): Rosé, Chardonnay, a few Pinots, and Syrah! Owner & Winemaker Kevin greeted us and told us his story. And then the fabulously friendly and warm tasting room Manager, Whitney, served our tasting. We sat out on their beautiful patio, adjacent to their open-air tasting room, both off of the central Bacchus Landing courtyard. We enjoyed all of the wines but especially the fresh, crisp French-style Rosé (we could truly drink this Rosé All Day!) and the Sonoma Coast Pinot - took home a couple bottles of each! The tasting room and patio are both welcoming, bright, clean, and thoughtfully decorated (check out the single-slab, live-edge table, and their gorgeous glassware!). Montagne Russe is dog-friendly! And they have a record player! Check them out and grab some snacks at Bacchus Market, across the courtyard, while you're there! We look forward to our next visit!

The bar & the staff are awesome!

If you want a great Healdsburg tasting room experience with truly EXCEPTIONAL wines, I highly recommend checking out Montagne Russe (French for "rollercoaster") located at Bacchus Landing (a gorgeous wine tasting destination)! Montagne Russe specializes in small-production wines from cool-climate regions (think Petaluma Gap and Sonoma Coast AVAs). Their Pinots are gorgeous and (winemaker) Kevin Bersofsky's Syrahs are simply beautiful. They also have chardonnay, rosé, cab, and, currently, a fun white blend of Pinot gris & white Pinot noir: all delicious! The wines are truly top-notch and very reasonably priced (of course, if you join a club you'll enjoy discounted wines throughout the year; they have some awesome club offerings). The wine flights are lovely - can't go wrong with whatever you choose. The tasting room was put together with a lot of love and eye for detail! Modern and sleek, yet so comfortable. The rollercoaster mural that spans across much of the interior of the tasting room is absolutely stunning. The outdoor seating area, with colorful umbrellas & furnishings everywhere, is just the place you want to be on a warm afternoon! Lots of room at the bar or other hip lounge areas. They have a cool turntable and lots of fun vinyl, too - so the vibe is really upbeat! BONUS: They are very DOG FRIENDLY! In fact you will see Cinnamon the Irish setter wine dog roaming around on any given day (such a pretty little sweetie)! DEFINITELY want to run (don't walk) to Montagne Russe's new tasting room: It's a MUST VISIT when in the Healdsburg area. Legit (scrumptious) wines & great people!

What an amazing location/ambience! Was beyond impressed with my experience visiting Montagne Russe. Enjoyed the Classic Tasting on a Thursday at noon and had the entire patio to ourselves. Shout out to Whitney for sharing excellent wine knowledge, and also for being a really cool human. The ambience was very chic but still inviting, with intentional and quality decor and glassware. They have some pretty spectacular pinots, but the dragons back was my absolute favorite. If you're a fan of higher elevation/coastal pinots, you will be very happy here! They allow you to bring in food; which is awesome if you are planning to try other wineries at Bacchus landing. Also, there is a market selling snacks located within the shared plaza! It was an all around success and I am already planning a return visit to work my way through their Reserve Tasting ;)

Easiest 5 stars I've ever given. This was our first winery of the weekend and it set the bar high. Whitney was our host and she took time explaining the intricacies of each wine we tasted and helped us figure out exactly what types of wines were our favorite! She also explained the roller coaster theme and several fun facts about the owner! Be sure to ask in case your host doesn't share them with you. This was also located in Bacchus Landing which houses several boutique wineries. It's a cute place with lots of outdoor spaces to hang out and drink your wine! Wine was delicious and we loved our experience!

Every Pinot was so particular to its geo, so delicious

I attended the fall wine party this weekend. I was so impressed with the quality of the wine and happily left with many bottles I can't wait to share and visit again! The all Pinots were delicious and the Chardonnay was divine too. Their wines really celebrate the diversity of the California terroir. The space is inviting and all staff so lovely and super knowledge

What a great NEW addition to the wine scene in Healdsburg / Dry Creek Valley area! A group of us tried out the newly opened tasting room at Bacchus Landing, quite close to the Central Healdsburg off ramp of US1. Not only is the space decorated in a cool Retro/"Scandi" vibe, with a fabulous outdoor patio and AMAZING mural, but it's also dog friendly. The bar area and gorgeous solid-wood tables are great spots to chat with the team, whilst sipping some of the best Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays, Syrahs and more. As you can see from the pics, we had to try selfies in front of the Rollercoaster mural...... Whitney or Kevin can explain the relevance of a wooden roller coaster at a wine tasting venue :-) We tasted a fabulous Rosé, moved onto a few Pinot's and ended with a Cab Sauv, lounging on the mid century styled couches, listening to The Beatles and Kim Wilde albums - a perfect afternoon in my opinion, and one that I cannot wait to repeat!

Apparently my 1 year old wasn't impressed with their wine!

When in wine country, you always want to squeeze in one more tasting, but where? Usually these decisions aren't the best, but when you are feeling the juice, its sounds like a great idea....but this one turned out to be the PERFECT call! Stumbled into Montagne Russe and told them to wow me, and they did! Apparently they just opened this tasting room, but it was shocking as it felt so welcoming. We were welcomed by Whitney, who ran us through all there wines, from Pinot to Syrah, they had it all. No 35 different wines here, I think maybe 8 or so, but all of them were so tasty. I think we bought like 5 bottles among the group. Yes, I know what your thinking, where they as tasty when we opened them a few weeks later...and YES! This place is the last spot before hitting downtown, so make sure you stop on by, either as a destination or a quick flyby!

They also sometimes project old movies on the wall, which adds a really fun, laid-back vibe and makes the whole experience even more memorable. Service was immediate and attentive. A very nice young man delivered menus, tea, water and a carafe of water to our table. You have a choice of ordering on a tablet at the table or the server also came by to ask if he could take our order. Ordering on the tablet was super easy and straight forward. We ordered gyoza as an appetizer, one chirashi (sushi rice with fresh fish on top), and three of us ordered the 2-item bento: Teriyaki salmon & tempura Chicken katsu & shio saba Bulgogi & spicy tuna roll The bentos come with a nice miso soup and salad. They do offer a wide variety of rolls as well as an assortment of side dishes and salads. There is a robot that comes around to deliver food to the tables. Our server delivered the soup and salad to us personally. The robot delivered our main meals but our nice server walked to our table and took them from the robot and delivered them to each of us. Again, a very thoughtful touch. Our food was paced well and our server came to replace our carafe of water with a full one without having to ask. I heard the bulgogi was a bit on the sweeter side and the chirashi had a beautiful assortment of seafood. We enjoyed trying a new place and would definitely come back. There is a beautiful huge screen with an ocean channel playing on the far wall. I loved watching all the sea life in their natural habitat. Parking is easy shared with other businesses. This restaurant is easy to find right off of Lakeville.

We were going to order only 1 churro but the server offered that the churros are gluten free so we ordered two orders! The menu doesn't say this, so FYI. They were one of the best potato preparations I've ever had. Shockingly fluffy and light inside literally like a potato cloud. Maybe the cheese helps with this? I don't know but get them. Salad was good, nice mix of greens. A little wet for my taste if I'm choosing but I'm also not complaining, it was yummy. The potatoes were a perfect dish to come with the salad since otherwise it didn't have a crunch element. This is the first time I've gotten the collar and it was as meaty as it is. I've ordered at other restaurants before and it was not as successful of a dish as here. Loved the sauce and flavors on it. It was kinda sticky due to the sauce but I mean that in a good way, to add to the flavor and overall balance of texture and flavor The snapper lettuce wraps were also yummy! Kind of laborious to get the fish to eat ready but worth the effort, same with the collar too, but also worth the "work" to get the meat off the bones. The snapper has a lot of pin bones but otherwise really yummy bite. The rock wall in the alley creates a whole vibe with the lights and such. It is also one of the oldest walls in Petaluma, which is pretty cool. Slim menu but excellent. The restaurant is tiny, like 6 tables. Being on the patio was nice, more room. Our meal split 4 ways was delicious and filling but also light and sat well in our bellies. I'd absolutely come back again.

This review is not a reflection of the restaurant's food, service, or dining experience. In November 2025 I purchased a $150 gift card through Central Market's website via Toast. The gift card was never received. I first reached out in February 2026 to inquire about the missing gift card. Tony responded the following day suggesting that I may have been scammed. After I clarified that the purchase was made directly through Central Market's website, he acknowledged that he had misunderstood, stated that this was a known issue, and told me he would contact Toast to investigate. March 2026: A month passed with no update whatsoever. I called the restaurant and spoke with Tony directly. He told me that I would need to contact Toast myself--a completely different answer from what had previously been discussed. April 2026: I informed Tony via email that Toast's customer service system specifically states that support is intended for restaurant businesses, not customers. I followed up again by email on 4/30 asking if he had received my message and whether there was any update. I have received no response since. What is most disappointing is the lack of clarity and consistency throughout this process. At various points, I was told I may have been scammed, then told it was a known issue that would be investigated, and finally told to resolve it myself through a company that does not provide support to customers in this situation. Not once was there a proactive update, clear explanation, or meaningful attempt to resolve the issue. More than five months after paying $150, I still do not have the gift card (which was intended as a Christmas present for a close friend), a refund, or even the courtesy of a response to my follow-up emails. When a business takes a customer's money, there should be some level of accountability when something goes wrong. At this point, I can only conclude that customer service is not a priority. The complete lack of communication and follow-through has left me feeling that my concerns--and my business--simply do not matter. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others against purchasing gift cards through their website.

I also got their Seafood Pasta, which reminds me of my East coast, Italian roots. The Italian sausage in the dish works beautifully with the assortment of perfectly cooked seafood and pasta. Hanks is definitely a place I will return to anytime I get the chance. It's a great place!

Great food and great Happy Hour selections!…read more I love the fresh taste of each dishes and not over seasoned. Staff is friendly and the vibe is cozy! Definitely another gem in Petaluma!
