[[HIGHLIGHT]]Region is a self-serve wine bar located in The Barlow in Sebastopol so you will be surrounded by shops, restaurants, and so much more![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were warmly welcomed when we arrived and you are given a wine card and instructions on how it all works. After that, you are left to explore the many incredible local wines they have here. You select the wine you want to try and the size of your pour and you have over 50+ local wines to choose from so it's an excellent way to try out some amazing wines! Many are smaller wineries so it's great that you can discover these wineries this way! You pay at the end and you will have the option to buy any wines that were your favorites. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have both indoor and outdoor seating and the area is spacious so you will have lots of options as far as seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service here is excellent! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has a relaxed vibe and is a great place to hang out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a food menu and you can select items from WM CoField Cheesemakers, Acre Pizza, or The Farmer's Wife and it will be delivered to you so you really have it all in one place, which is really nice and convenient. I highly recommend checking out their website for events that they have with the different wineries. During these events you can try out a flight of wines from a specific winery and take a deeper dive into their wines! They also have other fun events as well! Highly recommend coming and enjoying some local Sonoma wines!

We walked in to the place and the hostess stopped us as we entered for us to'check in' which is stopping to give them a credit card

Love their display- wine info and one wipes their card!

This was my first time ever at an interactive winery, such as this with a machine, yet there are two wine connoisseurs behind the counter that are available for questions as well as bottle service service if need be. I honestly love this concept where everything is self-serve and I just grab a wine glass and pick a wine, swipe my credit card and then pick the amount of wine. I want to taste! So cute and quaint! If you have questions, there's an employee behind you that is more than willing to help you but it's really so open and Free I really love the concept!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This whole Barstow area has such a cute Homie, family and safe feeling as I walked around with our dogs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was able to taste wines here and there as well as pick up different snacks/food and bring them to each restaurant that poured wine or beer. Lol. We definitely should have never brought the puppies, but they needed to go out and I'm glad we got to explore this cute little area! I love all the little boutiques as well as this particular winery, which had some local Napa favorites of mine, as well as some other far places! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I couldn't get a full picture of the left side of this reconfirmed Apple farm refinery because they were were tables and people sitting at all of the comfy tables with their own snacks, but this particular winery had a lot of room and I could see my girlfriends and I coming here for a day as well as lunch![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will definitely be back!! I love this concept and all the wines are perfectly chilled at the right temperature!!

Region is officially part of our holiday tradition! Here's what we love: - Heated outdoor tent with ample seating and comfy chairs/sofas. They have fireplace tables too. - You can pick from over 50+ wines on their wine wall - it is serve-yourself with a card and you can pick a 1oz, 3oz, or full glass pour. - You can order food from The Barlow restaurants to be delivered right to your seat! This is our second year in a row of ordering food while we sip wine in the tent area. - The wine selections focus on Sonoma area wines from smaller wineries you may not find or try otherwise. I love that they are highlighting these spots - one we loved and plan to do a winery tasting at next year! - Service is always friendly and hospitable. We had lovely conversations with a few of the staff this year, and they're always helpful in giving wine recs and bringing out our food. Only negative is that prices are a bit steep - $6-$11 for a half-glass pour can add up fast if you're staying for a few. But we find it worth it to support smaller wineries and this spot!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is such a charming little wine bar with a really unique concept.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You register your card, and then you can sample a variety of wines, from reds and whites to sparkling wines and rosés. There are different pour sizes, so you can taste as little or as much as you like. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also offer beer and food, and there's plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, making it a great spot for groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The self-serve setup adds a fun, interactive element as you get to explore the venue and try different options at your own pace. It's a great experience overall, and I would definitely recommend it!

I've been here several times and I'm finally writing a review. This place has it all. I love that you have a wide variety of local wines from white to red to sparkling that you can taste, half pour, or have a full glass. The staff is very inviting and knowledgeable. I also love that you can order food from the Barlow and bring it to your table/area in region and eat while you taste. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've been here on a date, with friends from out of town and with family, it's a great place for all occasions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll definitely be back!

Self-service wine bar with excellently-sourced variety of wines! This self-serve wine bar is a great space to meet up with friends or divergent wine palates. The space is large and bright with plenty of space for groups. I love that they are dog-friendly, and enjoyed petting a number of furry friends in between sips. You get a wine card from the counter, grab a glass from the wine wall and select which wine and how large of a pour you would like (tasting, half or full glass). If you want to do a side-by-side comparison of any of the wines, simply grab a second glass! I appreciate the flexibility of the set up and the fact that they leave booklets at every table that offer tasting notes and region descriptions for you to self-educate while you imbibe. Would definitely return!

There are plenty of "pour your own beer" places but this is the first pour your own wine that I've seen! There is a large and great variety of wines to choose from of all grape varietals and you have the option of either a 1 oz taste, half glass, or full glass that is dispensed by the machine after you select your size. Some of the wine tastes are more affordable than others and the machine tasting fees can add up quickly. I think this is experience is still comparable in price to going to one Napa/Sonoma winery and getting tastings of that winery's wine only. With that said, it is still more than worth the price to be able to try a huge variety of different wines from different places that you choose. If you aren't sure, the staff is very knowledgeable on all the wines available and can help you choose what to try. Their bottle prices are also reasonable and not marked up! Trust me, I looked before buying. Great atmosphere and experience that we will be returning to every time we can!

Absolutely loved my experience here! From the service to the wines it's just a fun place for a date night. I came here for the first time and we were having so much fun with the self service tasting, that we went to get dinner and came back for more wine after lol. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Region is a much loved self pour winery located in the Barlow. The interior of the winery is sophisticated, well lit with its high ceilings and garage style doors. The outdoor patio is shaded and perfect for large groups. There is a menu book with descriptions for all the drinks offered as well as food you can order via QR code. I had my bachelorette party here and we had an amazing time. The staff were so nice and friendly. Its always a great experience when the staff genuinely like their job and are always smiling. The process is pretty smooth and easy. You walk up, create an account with Region and give them a credit card to have on file. From there, they will provide you a card to use to insert in the machine and you just select the amount you would like to sample. The selection is amazing. There's everything from reds, whites, and rosé from across the Russian River area. The card will be charged by the amount poured out of the spout so even if the bottle runs empty, you won't be overcharged for it. Be sure to mark Region as a must visit when in Sebastapol. The process is so much fun and wine lovers will get to truly experience the wine country at an affordable price.

I REALLY LOVE THIS PLACE! Five stars just for the concept! Located in the hip Barlow in downtown Sebastopol, Region offers a unique wine tasting experience. Website advertises as having 100 plus Sonoma County wines by the taste, glass or bottle. These are wines you will want to taste! Why? Two reasons: Climate and soil. Sonoma County provides grape growers a wide variety of climate and soil conditions. With over 400 wineries in Sonoma County there is a varietal to suit any taste. Which brings me back to why I love Region. Being able to enjoy tastes of Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs all with different styles in one lovely setting was wonderful! Sonoma County produces some of the best wines in California. So I was def the kid in the candy shop! Customer service was off the hook! Kyle, Jamie and Kari were fantastic. Had a personal interaction with each of them. Wow...they know their stuff AND are so enthusiastic about it all! Obviously Region has top notch staff to match their top notch wines. Exchange your credit card for a "wine" card which provides access to your selected wines. Choose a taste, half of glass or a bottle. Place your wine glass under the spout and out it comes (obviously not the bottle selection). Then enjoy! While imbibing you may wander around the high-ceilinged, gorgeous inside area or lovely patio. I had so much pleasure chatting up interesting people while sipping and appreciating this new experience. There is sooooo much more to Region than I am able to write. I would be here forever. Food is available, fire pits in the patio area and world class wines. What else does a body need! Oh...yeah...do not forget the first class customer service. Thanks again Kyle, Jamie and Kari for making it soooo much fun! Would love to see a Region in my El Dorado County...pretty please!

Love. This. Place. What a concept! Not a new one, perhaps, but new to me! I'm odd in that I enjoy a buffet (a good one) because I like tasting bites of as many options as possible! My friends know and love me and are trained to offer me a small taste. (Sort of kidding.) Tapas restaurants are my jam. So, this wine tasting room is the equivalent of high end buffet. LOVE IT. Pricey? Sure. (I'm not a big drinker so I do the 1oz pours.) But I get to experience wines from places I might not otherwise get to enjoy. On our second visit, we became "members" which is basically a no-brainer if you plan to ever return. 2 half glasses of wine from the featured winery every time we go. Done! We go a couple times a month and each time find a new wine to try. We often split that night's flight as well. EXCELLENT staff. One of my favorite aspects is the relaxed, dog-friendly social vibe. Depending on our mood, we've sat quietly by ourselves, brought a group of friends, and a few times just started chatting with people sitting nearby. Food options are from nearby spots and we usually enjoy some fries with their delicious dipping sauces.

It's inviting vs the stuffy atmosphere some places have. BABAGANOUSH PITA we got it for the kiddo expecting it to be run of the mill stuff you get. But the babaganoush had the extreme rich flavors of smoked eggplant and felt like almost half an eggplant went in there. Not diluted with tahini, garlic, just pure flavors of eggplant with tanginess of sumac. LITTLE GEM SALAD WITH RAINBOW TROUT was hearty, leafy and very refreshing. The pickled celery was the surprise. HAMACHI CRUDO - beautifully assembled with thoughtfulness, light, refreshing. A bunch of flavor bombs in there so each bite is an adventure. Basil making it refreshing, earthy crunch from hazelnut, sharpness from green onion, sweet tart kiwis. I think a bit of citrus would make this a superstar. Mandolin shaved limes perhaps? GRILLED MAITAKE MUSHROOMS - ok I think this was the chefs most technically impressive dish, with an exercise in playing with bitter profiles and turning it into a master piece. Grilled maitake gets the char from the grill is the first flavor layer, it's woken up by the wild thyme from the zatar. Next the Japanese turnips bring the second dimension with earthy beautiful bitter notes on a bed of a creamy tahini based sauce. It's finished with fresh parsley to bring a fresh element to it. Great stuff. Could raddichio be added to make this more challenging? I saw those crunchy POTATOES and I got them even after eating the meal lol. Do yourself a favor and just get them - they're hot, crunchy and perfect to pair with the vegetables. Finally we got their chocolate mousse with bruleéd bananas sorry couldn't take a picture before it was all gone. Great way to wrap. The staff were all super friendly and helped with picking things from the menu! I got the mystery glass of wine and they had made a fun game out of it. The Beaujolais was great too. Overall when you're surrounded by these amazing farms, vineyards and ocean - no better way than to bring them together - kudos to the creators of the Redwood for making this place with intentionality. I wanted to get the squash, duck pâté, spring pea salad, tinned fish items as well, I guess for next time!

Although the flavor profile on the salmon with citrus and saffron was not to my taste it was expertly prepared. All that said we received some of the most neglectful service I have ever had from a very nice server, who for no obvious reason left us alone for most of the meal. It got busier as our time stretched on, but it wasn't slammed and there was plenty of staff. We ordered plenty of food including two bottles of wine. We had to completely finish all of our appetizers before being asked about mains and we sat with empty glasses for ~20 minutes (possibly more) before we flagged someone down to get the second bottle; a bottle we left half drunk because it stretched our evening so long. I might give this place another try but honestly it was one of the most drawn out anticlimactic $400+ birthday celebrations (without desert) I have ever had. We could have done better at home for less.
