I've been coming here for over 15 years now. Sunny is the best! I usually come for a straight perm, rebonding, color and cut. My hair is curly and frizzy! I've gone to many other places and some straighten too much while other do not enough and it doesn't even take. Sunny uses the best products and knows how to do it just right, especially on curly unruly hair. It's a long process but she is very efficient. I also bring my son who had a color (bleach) and cut. He showed her a picture and she was able to get it just right. With the cut and style she did for him, everyone always comments that he looks like a K-Pop star. However, there are a few areas I would like to caution a potential customer. First, Hair washing assistant,Connie can be rough sometimes and you need to let her know you'd like the water to be warm before she wets your hair. Second, they don't have set prices. I sometimes think its whatever they'd like it to be. Third, I rarely get Sunny to do the whole service herself, she has another stylist help most of the time ( a bit annoying). A haircut is $30 with at least two people blow drying and straightening my hair. Every time the phone rings, my hair stylist will pause for a short chat so I'll listen to the k-pop soundtrack. I almost always get the same haircut no matter how short I ask for. My favorite part is reading the fashion magazines after my haircut, but my layers are not symmetrical on purpose. I probably get highlights with them every other year. Several months later I came back for a haircut. The price is the same but I had to wait by reading four magazines while two other people are getting their hair done. They play Jack FM instead of k-pop now. While I was getting my hair layered, some lady walked in saying she was a missionary and asked us for money. They really need a permanent receptionist. read more

I came here for a spontaneous haircut and I do NOT regret it one bit. My sister in law suggested this place because she's been going here for years for trimming and coloring. She called to make an appointment and to our surprise, she said that they are closed on Sundays. The first thing that I liked about this place was the fact that they opened the salon just for the two of us. My hairstylist name is Donna. She was so sweet and listened and suggested haircuts for me. I told her what I was planning to get and she hesitated and suggested that I don't do it because it might be too short for my liking. I showed her pictures of what I would like and openly agreed to it. She was very quick and I felt like she really knew what she was doing. The service here is fast and friendly. I went in for a deep conditioning treatment. The interior is clean and spacious and the staff are friendly. I love the smell of the shampoos they use and I even bought some for myself. The deep conditioning comes with a 15 minute treatment with your hair wrapped and connected to a machine. After the treatment, you get a blow out/straightener. My hair is long so for me it was on the pricey side but for those with short hair I think it would be more affordable. Sunny did my hair and she was very friendly and patient. I would definitely return to this location because I live close by and I enjoyed my service. NOPE. i went home and told my mom, SHE speaks korean. and we went back and she attempted to make it better but... it's still mediocre. i will NEVER come back. The ambience is pleasant, the stylists are efficient, and the price is not bad. I will also give them extra points for speaking English, because people at the other Korean salons often don't speak any, at all, and that always makes for an uncomfortable experience. I took off a star because the stylist who did Angie's hair and mine seems to have only one "look" in her repertoire...which means Angie and I left the salon sporting almost the exact same cut. I got highlights here today. They turned out very brassy. Pros: I liked the communication with the girl who did my hair. She was korean but she spoke very good English. She tried to ask me what I liked and kept asking me every step of the way. She tried to get it blonde so we bleached twice. Cons: My hair came out not as blonde as i wanted. It was actually a BRASSY ORANGE. I don't know what kind of stylist would let me leave that place with orange-brassy hair. I feel that she was more in a hurry to go home than care that my hair was how i wanted it. Overall, I would not come back here again, but I did appreciate how nice they treated me.... I'm sure they give good cuts but NEVER EVER GO HERE FOR COLOR. I used to get my eye lashes permed here. They do a pretty good job for $30. I am not sure if they still do it. Every 6 months I would get my hair cut here as well. I brought my mom, sister, friends, and family friends here. They all loved it. But one by one they had a bad experience and they don't go anymore. They have really good service here with 2-3 people working on you at the same time, but make sure you leave with what you wanted. If you don't like what happened to your hair or what not, it can be a bad experience. They still want you to pay even though you don't like it. But they will do a complimentary redo...IF they have time. read more

I got my haircut this past Saturday by DongMi, since my friends recommended her to me. I liked my haircut, just simple layers to cut off my split ends and give my hair some volume since I haven't gotten a cut for over a year. I like how she uses scissors to layer instead of that other knife thing that I heard isn't really good for your hair. I liked the cut but i didn't like how she cut my bangs. Overall it was okay. P.S. Don't you guys wish the hair washing process was longer? I would pay extra for a scalp massage I swear. I love it when they wash my hair. I got my hair permed here about a year ago and really loved it. It was my first time, but the experience was great. I brought in a picture and they recommended a setting perm for my long hair and the waves that i wanted. It looked great the moment i walked out the door and grew out well until I cut it about 6 months later. I actually got complimented on my hair the day I got it done until the day I got it cut. Really. The perm probably would have lasted another 2-3 months, but I was just itching for some change. Also, the service was really fast, I was able to get out in about 1.5 hours. I went twice so far, and was pleased with both results. I asked for and received a simple layered hair cut for long hair. The stylist (she seems to be in her late twenties) was pretty good about cutting off one inch, instead of the usual three i get anywhere else. Every time I've been (around 6pm on a weekday), there was no wait. The salon appeals to the twenty to thirty-something crowd. The only downside was how fast she cuts my hair! I guess it meant she didn't have a lot to fix after her first run through, but.... sometimes it nice to have that reassurance of a detailed cut. This is my review of Donna for a men's style cut. The hair stylist Donna has a whimsical approach to styling hair. Where many stylist will have clean deliberate intentions behind each cut, the way she waves those sheers and clippers like Edward Scissor hands has me on the edge of the seat during the hair cut. She leaves you wondering if she's a Picasso or a 5 year old child with his first bottle of finger paint. But when all is set and done, she really produced results. When I looked in the mirror, I was pleasantly surprised my sides were nice a clean, hair is nicely shaped, and everything blended and tapered with perfection. I left the salons looking like one of those Asian pretty boys you see in the Japanese music videos. read more

I don't usually get my cuts here, but when it comes to PERM, they know what they're doing. It's relatively cheap, and they use good product that doesn't damage hair all that much. I've gotten both tight/loose well-being and magic straight perms. Definitely recommend it to Asians who are looking for a natural wavy/curly look. read more

I have been going to this hair salon for ages. I have referred a lot of my friends to this place and they all loved it. I think their expertise is haircuts. I have so far not had bad experience with haircuts. However, highlights and color is a different story. I think one of the co-owner of the salon way back in the days was awesome with highlights and color. Today I got my pictures and I just LOVE how Sunny and Dongmi did amazing job on all of us. I didn't hasitate to go here for my wedding day because I always go here for my hair done and every experience was great. I usually don't wear make up at all. This is what I worried the most what if I look weird as bride!!! but now I look at these pictures... all of their hard work paid off. I can't wait to take these pictures for my next visit. i went here once and liked it so i thought i would try it again. but instead all i got was an earful of korean words and a complete lack of customer service. i brought a picture to show the stylist what i wanted and she barely gave it a glance. during the "first round of cutting" she did some long layers in the back and barely in the front as i requested. i spoke up and she cut some more layers. maybe it pissed her off, i don't know, but my layers turned out completely uneven! the left side of my head has layers that are 2-3 inches longer than the right side. at that point, what was i supposed to do? ask her for an unwanted pixie cut? then came the bangs. i asked her for short, side swept bangs and instead she gave me these stumpy looking things. it was terrible. to preserve my length, i just ended up leaving. for $30 it sucked . i would have gotten something better at fantastic sam's. at least they wouldn't have been so rude as to speak korean to one another the whole time and completely disregard my concerns or comments on how i wanted my hair. be warned...stay away! if i could give them zero starts, i would!! read more

I had a brazilian with her and the end or my hair got burned that I had to get my haircut. Waste of all my money. I do not recommend this place.
