The hairdresser is not my usual lady nor salon but I needed to get the service done before the weekend.she asked if layering was needed. Like most personal services, the final result and styling was slightly not the same as my other salon. Straightforward and turned out okay. Readily accused her co-renter without even asking for facts before ranting, rattling hurtful words. Before she arrived in the salon, her co-renter had just finished cutting a cancer patient's hair who is nearly bald headed obviously due to chemo treatments. Yet, when she was about to use the shampoo station she loudly blurted out & angrily accused her co worker of not cleaning the sink after use without even asking for facts. Again, I'm talking about the cancer patient who was almost bald headed and was tenderly catered to by her co-renter & how can he possibly have clogged the sink? I just can't simply take her rudeness berating a very kind elderly hairdresser so l blurted out that they have a plumbing issue as evidenced by the multiple wall cuttings visibly seen which could have only done by a plumber. Went to this salon hoping to get a nice layered trim for the hair I grew out for years. I even provided the hairdresser an image for her to get an idea with what to do. She looked at it for like 3 seconds and I told her to not cut off TOO much, but she proceeded to CHOP half of my hair because of how "damaged" it was. I showed the korean lady my inspo, she looked at it for just like 2 seconds and began chopping my hair. She makes my hair soo thin,that i felt like it looks like a jelly fish shape ( thick on top,and thin at the bottom ). Worst haircut. I bring my two children here for haircuts. They know Joy by name and get great cuts, often hopping off into the sunset looking like future K-pop stars. They are in elementary/middle school so I hope their hairstyles don't make them too self-absorbed. But, dang, it's always a great experience. Joy is kind, friendly and fun. A lot of the negative reviews should be removed because they are from people who have only posted like 1 or 2 reviews on this profile....seems to me that anybody can just try to knock down Joy's ratings if they want to try to sink the business. But we've been coming since 2018 and it's 2025 now. Still great, still fun and excellent results. I should have read the recent reviews before coming here. I provided a couple of pictures to the lady explaining the style I wanted. I felt like she didn't listen and just wanted to do it her way. Also, I was unhappy that she kept talking to another lady in Korean while cutting my hair--she wasn't focused. She told me to put my glasses on the table so I really couldn't see what she was doing. I should've read reviews before coming here. I came in with plenty of hair. I was styling my hair in a Bun for about a month, so I know I had a voluminous amount of hair, about 5 inches below my nape. The lady who cut my hair was not nice, gentle, but aggressive with a fake kindness when it came to pay for her service. I was so considerate, polite, and friendly to her. To start off, she combed my hair so roughly to a point it was like my hair was being yanked from my scalp! As she started her craft [witchcraft], she used a hand razor and dragged it near the Crown of my head all the way down to the end with 2" off. I wanted to speak up, but even then, she was working WAY TOO FAST and felt her going ALL THE WAY AROUND, as if someone was Shaving down paper! If told her to stop completely, what other shape can my hair be if she had already shaved a chunk off? So I let it be.... After her mini blow out, she took a pair of Shears and just mindlessly went to town through each area to thin it out even more... After she finished, she said in the end, "See I put more layers on." Excuse me, but the customer knows exactly what they want, not what you want without confirming. You can politely suggest to a customer before cutting. So as I was leaving, walking back to my car, I had so much hair fall-out on my face and my shirt! I realized she was supposed to grab a brush to take take off my hair.... So to end this, Im obviously upset, hurt, and I never felt such abuse from a service.. Dear customers, I do not recommend... Especially if you are desiring a specific style and if you don't want to expericence Narcissistic abuse... I've provided a picture of what my thick hair was, the inspiration I showed from TikTok, and what it looks now. I know hair will grow back, we all know that. However the the time and care, especially when you're taking supplements is so much ofnan investment... This haircut was supposed to be a little treat for myself and I was excited, only to get hurt.. The inside of the salon was pretty nice and up to date. It was my first time here, the ladies were kind and welcoming. I just wanted a trim to be honest. My hair is long and I like to keep a v cut and that's what I got. The price was good, $25, before tips. I just had a walk in and they got to me pretty quick since there's only two ladies doing hair and they already had 2 clients on their chair. Joy is renting temporary space to Babli for threading services. If you need someone for great threading services, Babli is it for you. She's careful and takes her time to shape your brows. You get solid work every time you come in. Babli used to be across the street next to the Thai restaurant. As the complex has completed their renovations, they increased their rent and Babli chose to move. She is temporarily with Joy while her new salon is being prepped to open sometime in November. Overall a great place to get your hair cut. For context - I like getting my hair cut quickly in a no-fuss kind of way. I have thick hair, so I typically just like getting a blunt cut with a few layers to thin out the edges. I think the prices went up ($30 for a dry cut), but they're always super fast. Imo, I think it was more "worth it" to come here when it was $25 + tip, because it's now around $36-$38 with tip, but still - would recommend if you're looking for someplace quick and easy to get a trim. read more

Horrible experience. I really felt bad for my son for having him cut his hair in this salon. He took good care and grew his hair for a while. My son and I told the lady who did the haircut to keep the length and just do the trim. She resisted and just did the cutting fast and made it short. This seems like a family owned business, I got my hair single processed hair colored with highlights all around for $200 and Honey threw in a free hair trim for me. I was pleased with the service.
