we haven't ordered from pasta 209 for 5 months because we noticed that the food wasn't as good! so today,4/06/24 we ordered our usual " 4 layer lasagne bolognese, penne amatriciana with a sm. house salad and a sm. mixed roasted vegetables. sadly they don't make the main 2 dishes the same at all!!! the 4 layer lasagna bolognese was missing the béchamel completely and was too spicy!!!! the the penne amatriciana didn't have any penne!! they substituted plain spaghetti noodles instead!!!! not good on both mains!! and they charged $2.00 more for these mains!! also very bad!!!! as for the 2 sides, the sm. salad was the same as before. however the mixed roasted vegetables had only 1 split brussels sprout and over cooked very dry potatoes!!!! horrible!!!! i am so disappointed in all of this!! when this restaurant first started we ordered a lot from them because the food was outstanding and the prices were right on the money for the quality. sadly not anymore!! i hated brussels all my long life, this is the only time i really loved them!! but not only 1 split one with dry,( and i mean very dry!! ) yucky potatoes!!! i am not surely of the rest of the main dishes, but i would lay odds that they are over priced and not like they used to be!! beware!!!!! this place is not going to be around much longer at this rate of depreciation on quality!!!!!! read more

HANDS DOWN.. the best pasta/Italian food I've had in such a long time. My husband and I are both from Chicago (where Italian food is huge and authentic) and we're also both Italian.. so we're picky. And I haven't been to Italian restaurants out here because I already know how processed and "Americanized" they are. Might as well get chef boyardee cans. BUT THIS PLACE. Holy cannoli were we impressed. Handmade pasta, no one does that anymore and the sauces were unbelievable. I could taste the tamato/ basil, lemon, garlic.. it took me back to my nanas house when I was a little girl. And I just got a plain spaghetti in red sauce because I was expecting disappointment..The bread! Crunchy yet fluffy and absorbed my leftover sauce perfectly. I can go on and on.. I'm so excited to get this pasta for my parents when they come over next! And in Gustine!! I did expect them to be a little bit more friendly considering how nice they are on Instagram. Just didn't have the same enthusiasm as me I was excited to go to this place very small town so it's nice to find some thing that is decent here besides Mexican food. The shrimp cream cheese puffs things were amazing lots of flavor you can tell a real chef made them. Ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo family meal: simply phenomenal. The focaccia bread was incredibly delicious, the salad was fresh, and the bread pudding delectable! You can taste the freshness of it all and the love and respect 'Chef Buck' has for Italian food. Truly a hearty meal that the whole family thoroughly enjoyed. The definition of hidden gem. When you come to Gustine, you really can't find much, there's no stop lights, downtown is one street, & the only recognizable place to eat is McDonald's. Until you find Pasta 209. Not only is all the staff friendly & happy to be there, the food is absolutely incredible. Every little thing in this shop is hand made & tastes like some of the best pasta you'll ever have, & to seal the deal even further, their website is ridiculously easy to use, they offer order ahead, curbside pickup, even delivery right to your doorstep, & the food delivers EVERY. This was my second time trying pasta209 out. The first time I tried it my chicken Alfredo was delicious but missing the chicken you pay extra for. As for this time I tried the spaghetti carbonara and had the chicken Alfredo again( btw this time the Alfredo had a good amount of chicken). I found them both salty especially the carbonara which became hard to eat. Knowing that it is so new I understand they are still working out the kinks. So I will still continue to try it out. They have a lot of potential to bring something new to our small town and I love how everything is made from scratch. read more

So happy to have something like this in Gustine. Pasta 209 is worth the drive if your on the westside or even popping in off of Highway 5. Some people here on Yelp talk about the noodles being "raw" and "not cooked". In fact the noodles are cooked perfectly Al dente every time, only adding a perfect chew to a Handmade pasta. Sauces are delightful and vibrant with fresh herbs. Meatballs are my personal favorite, being obviously ground in house. Desserts made on-site such as the pineapple upside down cake or the perfect Cannoli round out a great and diverse menu. I have not been disappointed yet with anything on the Menu. I have payed a lot more money in a lot bigger cities for traditional pasta that would Never stand up to what Chef Buck offers our small community. Just amazing! read more

Omg, I found a gem in the heart of Newman! Authentic Italian/Roman food, with freshly made pasta, literally, Chef Buck makes the pasta dough fresh on the spot for your dish and delivered right to your door! My favorite is the Penne con Ricotta, and I love the Panzanella salad too. My picky kids absolutely loved all the dishes which that is a big plus for me. I would hear so many good things about Pasta 209 and as I'd scroll through social media and stories of friends they'd post photos of their dinners and I thought man who is making those dinners?
