Back in Livingston to visit the gf's family, and of course we had to stop by Foster Farms for some quality diner food. Something I learned from the last time is that you can get your fried chicken 'buffalo dipped', which means after they freshly fry your chicken pieces, they dip it in buffalo sauce. This was a game changer! Some of the best fried chicken I've had and their buffalo sauce is the right amount of vinegar and spice. If you like anything buffalo, definitely try the fried chicken buffalo dipped. I think even their strips would be good this way. I ate the leftovers cold, and it was still hella good. On this day, they had a tuna melt special. Nothing special about it, but it's really good and simple. The fries were good as well, just needed a little more salt and pepper. We usually get the spicy chicken soup, but this time it was pretty mid, definitely better when you eat it there and not that great for takeout. Overall, definitely a staple whenever visiting the area because it's a simple yet affordable meal that hits the spot every time.

Classic diner vibes, with a lil livas spice! Foster Farms Cafe is some of Livingston's best. Like most diners, the menu is pretty extensive. From traditional American breakfast to fried chicken dinner and literally everything in between. Some of my favorites are the spicy chicken soup (MUST TRY), tuna melt (when available), BLT, club, sweet potato fries, and fried chicken (duh). Food is made fresh, great quality, and isn't super greasy. Portion sizes are very large. You'll 100% get your money's worth! The spicy chicken soup is a signature menu item. It is absolutely unique and delicious. It's kind of hard to describe but I want to say it's like a crossover between chili and chicken tortilla soup? It's hearty and has a great spice combination filled with hominy, chicken, corn. I like to top mine off with tapatio and extra black pepper. Really, if you take anything from this review, just try this soup. This spot is your typical comfortable neighborhood diner. It feels homey and welcoming. Service is always super friendly. Most weekday mornings/early afternoons are slow enough, you can seat yourself. Weekends are jammed packed; they'll open the extra seating area. Their hours have varied a lot since the pandemic. I know they're open late on Thursdays. To be safe, I'll call before I stop by to make sure they're open. If you're driving down the 99, craving some diner food, skip Denny's and come straight here!

Food , service and the environment is all awesome. Not one bad thing to say about this place. I pass it daily on highway 99 and I know the factory is here but did not know about the restaurant. 10/10 recommend coming here .

One of my all time faves! My wife and her family grew up in this area and I've always liked eating here. The fried chicken is fresh, what with the processing plant being literally next door. In my imagination, there's a secret tunnel between the plant and the restaurant where they invite the chickens to walk down this special corridor for dinner. I was trying to find the to go menu without success, but my wife was in the area and picked up some chicken and the menu, which I have posted. The prices are as of July 2023.

[Review #445] 2019 Yelp 100 Challenge (97/100) My nephew raved about Foster Farm's chicken fried steak & was super excited to invite us out for dinner. =) Foster Farms is a standalone restaurant located just off Main St. with plenty of parking. Its interior has a homey country feel... with sizable counter seating, plenty of small tables & booth seating. The set-up is more intimate so the tables need to be re-arranged for large groups. The infamous "bad" chickens were also on display... you know, the ones that claimed to be Foster Farms chicken but were not. ;-) I enjoy a chicken fried steak every now & then, & they're pretty standard to me IMO... a cutlet that's breaded then pan-fried, reminds me of an Austrian Wiener schnitzel. The special of the day was FISH & CHIPS, which sounded enticing, though I felt obligated to order chicken since Foster Farms is known for poultry. I added their soup du jour: SPICY CHICKEN SOUP. My husband had the FISH WRAP with FRIES. The restaurant wasn't too crowded yet our order was a tad slow to arrive; friendly but slightly absent service, mostly when looking for servers to refill water. :-| Once the 1st dishes were served, the rest followed in a steady stream so we were all enjoying our meal together. The portions were fair to quite sizable. I liked the battered cod; it was perfectly cooked, flaky & sweet. But one of the pieces was a throwaway so I felt cheated because it didn't have much meat. The fries were generous & nicely crisp. I enjoyed the chicken soup... it was hearty & filling with a nice kick of spice, & I can see & taste bite-size chunky pieces of chicken. :-) I could eat a whole bowl, not just this small cup. My nephew had a huge portion of chicken fried steak & shared a few slices. I can see why he's so hyped about it... the steak was tender & well-seasoned. It's debatable if I should have ordered the chicken fried steak instead of the fish & chips. Foster Farms serves good food at decent prices, & some plates you get more bang for your buck. You know your poultry is fresh because it's coming from the plant next door. Recommended: Spicy Chicken Soup, Fish & Chips (when available), Chicken Fried Steak.

OMG!! What a great local place!! Best value in the Valley, Old Fashioned Diner Food, Foster Farms Fried Chicken, Best ever Chicken Nuggets, Amazing Turkey Sandwich, fresh Briskets, Chicken Gravy, Breakfast and Lunch!! Never had anything I didn't like, the Fried Chicken is the BOMB!! Crispy coating, not greasy or salty, just right!! Exceptional value with Quality food, clean and friendly with great service, I just love this place. Limited hours of operation, Thursday 6am to 6pm, Mon,Tues, Wed and Friday 6am to 2pm. Mostly locals and Foster Farms employees, so plan breakfast or lunch during the week or Thursday till 6pm. I love Thursday's about 3 myself. I'm hopeful the new owners of Foster Farms will expand the operating hours!

Wow what a great little fine! Driving down the freeway my buddy said he was hungry so I check in on yelp and where do we find? Foster Farms! What Foster Farms has a restaurant? OK cool let's go there. What a cool little spot we walk in super nice super prompt staff. Menu prices were very very low. Three piece chicken dinner three sides for $10 you must be kidding me! Are super awesome waitress brought over the food. The gravy was incredible the mashed potatoes were really good the chicken hot as heck you could tell it was definitely definitely fresh everything was fresh! Then we happen to notice that on Thursdays it's all you can eat chicken for 11. could possibly be a road trip itself! The chicken was so yummy! Everything was fresh you can tell it hadn't been sitting under a heat lamp. What a great place to stop and what a great place to have a great family meal a road trip meal or just a meal to create great memories! Don't forget to take a picture with the rubber chickens!

Visiting family. Funny how the memory remembers good food! As I was waiting for my takeout order, 15-20 people walked in!! Just love this place. Great food, friendly helpful staff, decent prices. Not to mention the chicken is fresh from the Foster Farms plant next door!

They have a lovely outdoor area perfect for watching the sunset and gazing into the lush greenery that surrounds the restaurant. We sat inside and the decor gave a homey, almost hole-in-the-wall vibe. There's nothing particularly fancy about the interior of the restaurant, but every member of the staff makes you feel like a guest at their table. We started off with a cold bottle of sauvignon blanc and tried a few appetizers: the bruschetta, mac and cheese, and steak bites. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection! Steaks are their specialty at The Grove and are procured from a local cattle rancher. Each piece is specially hand-cut. My husband and I each had the ribeye special and it didn't disappoint. The portions were huge and we could have easily shared a plate. Their menu overall is extensive and has something for everyone - lamb, steak, chicken, fish. We had a great time, enjoyed the amazing hospitality, and can't wait to come back!

All four of us ordered burgers. I watched our waiter punch in our orders on his hand held device and he repeated our orders back to us, so I know the kitchen got them correctly. After a 30+ wait, they all came out cooked incorrectly to our order and all with onion, tomato, and lettuce on the side. All of us ordered them cooked medium or medium rare with no onion or tomato. We received them all well done with tomato and onion on the side. Why even ask what toppings people want if you are putting them on the side anyway? Having four people throw away all tomatoes and onions is unnecessarily losing money for the business. The burgers being cooked too long made them dry and affected the meat's taste for sure. I understand it was a packed house and maybe the food would be better prepared on a slower night, but we were disappointed with our food experience on this night. The waiter busting his butt helped this ranking!

As we had our little pup with us, they were able to accommodate us. There's three entrance from the front area. Main being the one that leads you to the restaurant. Another is from the gift shop side and we also noticed people coming in from the side of the bar. One side is the restaurant which we looked at but ended up at the bar section. Which happened to be happy hour happening. Didn't know they had that to offer. Bar area was pretty quiet when we were there but it did pick up. There's also patio seating right outside there. Main menu pretty much has as everything but we just opted for some happy hour bites for now. Drink special was offered both for draft and bottle as well as cocktails and wine. Food menu, they were limited on that but the usual were offered. Both cup or bowl of the famous soup was available. Half order of the potatoes skin, onion rings and wings were available as well as the quesadillas. Soup was decent but could have been hotter. Onion rings, and the wings were ok. Outside there is a photo op and the building looks really cool. Inside, you can find all things Danish. However, I was sad to find the shop was so much smaller than the pictures on Yelp show. Everything is connected inside - the shop, bakery, restaurant, bar, and restrooms. The restaurant is huge and there's also an eating area at the bar and a back patio, although it was dusty and cramped and I don't think many people use the patio seating. They are dog friendly and the bartender allowed us to sit in a corner of the bar with our two dogs for our dinner. We also were able to walk them around inside the shop. Split Pea Soup 3.5/5* The soup itself is boring. There's a grainy texture, good flavor, but blah. You definitely need to order the toppings to go with it, which is a weird combination of stuff that somehow makes the soup so much better. You get cheese, sliced ham, bacon, scallions, and croutons but the crunchy green onions and bacon are what makes the soup pop. It feels like eating a healthier version of chili. Country Fried Steak 2/5* Not your typical country fried steak. The batter on this is thin and isn't very textured with crunchy edges. It was like a sad limp piece of fried patty. The steak had good seasoning but the batter really did it no justice. Hashbrowns were average. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and English Muffin was perfectly toasted. I do like that they give you a whopping amount of whipped butter for your toast! The bakery had some good looking pastries. The whole experience reminded me of a piece of Solvang. Great rest stop for something different. Plus, the bathrooms are huge and clean.

Sueno now features a complete coffee menu, fresh pastries & bagels, cozy indoor seating, a sunny patio, branded merch, community events, and all the charm that made it special from the start. Hours are typically Thursday - Monday, 7 AM - 1 PM. I always recommend checking out their website or insta (@suenocoffeeco) for updates on hours or special events.
