During our trip to Sudbury, we had the pleasure to dine here only by luck. It was a Friday night…read moreand reservations were full but the owner came out after seeing us with a baby and pulled a table and made space for us three. The service is impecable and the food is beyond amazing. I have travelled to Italy and had the finest Italian restaurants but their Gnocchi is by far the best we have ever had. If you happen to come to Sudbury, this is place is a must try for dinner. Make reservations ahead of time as it fills up really fast.

I don't usually write a review, but I can't stop thinking about my experience here. I was looking…read moreforward to it for several weeks and very excited to try their menu. First, we tried the calamari. Now, if there's calamari at a fine dining restaurant, I'm trying it. I've had some amazing calamari. This was not amazing. It was so rubbery that I had to swallow my first bite whole after chewing it for so long. We were hungry so we kept eating it. The light coating and seasoning was actually great but the texture sucked. If you know calamari, texture is a big deal. When asked how it was, we were honest but our server replied that no one else complained. So? I'm not speaking for anyone else. Anyways, she did apologize and said she'll let the kitchen know but no offer to discount it or take it off the bill. Whatever. Moving on. We ordered top sirloins. Medium rare. I chose to upgrade my side to risotto. When our meals came the steaks looked medium rare like we asked, but my husband got 3 little burnt potatoes and soggy vegetables. I got a messy pile of risotto and they took away my vegetables AND my potatoes and charged me an extra $11. Really? There was no mention of that. At least leave me the vegetables. Most sides are max $5 unless they're a protein lol. It gets worse, unfortunately. The risotto was undercooked. My husband didn't even touch the potatoes because they didn't look appetizing. And the steak... although cooked to our liking, somehow was tough. Very chewy. So disappointing. I didn't complain or send any of it back. When the server replied the way she did about the calamari, I knew she'd probably just argue and think we just like to complain when it came to everything else. I paid close to $200 for this experience and was very disappointed. Later realized the server was the owner. Honey, if you can't take a little constructive criticism and try to satisfy your customers, how do you allow yourself to learn and your business to grow? Good luck to you.

I head up to see family a few times a year and when I lived in Sudbury back in the day we went to…read morePat & Mario's all the time. Decided to give the Kouzzina a try on my mother's 75th birthday. We had reserved their "library" room, but at the last minute were bumped...by a charity. Normally I would be pissed as there were 14 in my party and making plans for that many people last minute could have been a nightmare. They made up for it by giving us another secluded section of the restaurant that (after seeing) was better suited for our large group. They gave us a special huge tray of meats and cheeses for our troubles. The service was top and the food came out fast, at the right times so everyone could eat together and drinks were never empty. Our group came in waves even making things more difficult, but our server was definitely up to the task. The food was great and they even were able to serve up some dishes from their olden days that were no longer on the menu. I had two types of calamari, both were great, but the deep fried stuff is something you can get most anywhere - i recommend the grilled. It comes on a cast iron grill still sizzling and it is drenched with amazing olive flavor. I also had the Caesar salad with a blackened salmon on top. This is one of my go to combinations and they are rated way up there. I love a Caesar salad that almost burns your mouth with garlic (not so popular to people around me). I actually went back just a few weeks ago (twice) to have it again. All other meals had no complaints and as always, I begged for a few sample tastes off the other plates. They served the entire range of pasta, fish, chicken, salads and of course the other kind of Caesar that you drink. The place is also modern and beautiful inside and the bar is quite lively. Definitely no shortage on parking either. I can see this becoming my regular place to be whenever I get back to Sudbury.

Our server had a great memory and remembered a lot on what we ordered without writing it down. The Bad: Oh boy. We got to the restaurant at 4:15pm with a table of 8. While there was a lot of seating available we still waited 20 minutes to be seated. Restaurant wasnt busy yet either (couldn't do a reservation either after 4 according to them when we called). Arrived and had two new young front service people greet us. They were obviously in training because someone who I assumed was the manager had to tell them to seat us and get cutlery. After being seated, we quickly got our drinks ordered but they took forever to get to us. We ordered everything at once (food and drinks) and we waited over an hour to get our food delivered to the table. We had 4 kids with us and they were hungry and bored so waiting an hour was an eternity for them. Finally food arrived and one meal we ordered came with the wrong pasta. The menu said Viel Parmesan came with Penne but Spaghetti was delivered instead. When we questioned why the meal wasn't what matched the menu we got a "the menu is wrong". They DID correct it but was kind of a shock to be told that as an acceptable answer. Finally after we were all done and asked for the cheque, again we were left waiting. Close to 30 minutes to pay and leave. The table next to us said they also were waiting a long time to leave the restaurant and complained about the delays. We had to get up and find a manager in order to give them money for the food we consumed. Overall this is not the experience I expected from this establishment. The server apologized and told me that all the senior staff took this weekend off and left trainees and new people. Management never made any rounds, never saw them trying to assist with the orders and instead stood and just "watched". Won't be back for a while personally. Total time in the restaurant was 2 hours. Tell me the last time you entered a half empty restaurant and waited two hours to eat and pay.
