The food was delicious-- I got the tonnarelli with cheese and pepper. Super good and super cheap . After just leaving Paris, this service was some of the best I have received in my stay throughout Europe. He was very funny, loved to sing, and took great care of us. This is one of the best places to eat!!! Fresh made pastas and al fresco dining. The best service I have ever had!! The girls had linguine with pesto sauce, I had Pici with meat sauce and we all agreed that mine was outstanding! Started with caprese salad which was served with arugula instead of basil which I loved but the girls missed the basil. Had watermelon and lemoncello for desert. Worst customer service ever!!! My husband and I went there after coming back from the Trevi Fountain which is really close. Waitress sat us down inside and completely forgot about us. Saw that they were making fresh pasta so the GF and I decided to try it out. The ordering system was awkward. We choose pasta from a buffet style setup and they would cook it up with the sauce you want. We were given a buzzer to come pick up our food once it was done. Food was decent. Walking around Rome shopping for souvenirs and ran into this lovely restaurant with outdoor seating. Our waitress was patient and offered some excellent suggestions. Even the chef waved at us through the window and sent us over some lovely and very tasty desserts. When I return to that side of the world again, I will be sure to eat at Pastamore again! read more

Service and food were one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. If you look at my review history you will see this is my first one star review. I usually will never complain about a restaurant but this place got so many things wrong. Pastamore is a complete tourist trap with the mentality that there will always be another unlucky hungry tourist. The food was incredibly salty, and plain. They claimed their pasta was homemade but it did not taste fresh, instead it had a rubbery composure. I had the alfredo pasta sauce and it was basically runny butter and Parmesan cheese sprinkled on pasta, absolutely disgusting. The water had a strong mineral taste and we were charged €2 euro even though it was clearly tap water. All three plates tasted liked a Chef Boyardee meal that a five year old could have made better. The service was slow and numerous amounts of times the waitress forgot to mention they were out of a menu item. The food came out staggered and cold. At the end of our meal when they saw full plates on our table, they asked if we had enjoyed our food. We responded no, and they simply responded with only a "sorry." Please stay away from this place as there are a million better restaurants in Rome, and this place will only lead to disappointment. read more

My 11yo son is a connoisseur of pizza margherita - he's had it every single day for at least one meal during our recent trip to Rome. In the spirit of providing the most accurate reviews, he has rated each one - I'll post this same review for each restaurant in order of quality. 1) Rosa & Rosae, Trevi Fountain/Pantheon area - Via di Pietra, 88, 00186 Roma We joined him in pizza here and had one with spicy salami. It was very good, although only three large slices of salami. 2) PastaMore, Trevi area - Via arcione 71b, 00187 Roma We intended to go to That's Amore - I know, the names are goofy. Instead we opted for this place and had a nice dinner on their patio. Large salad was big enough for 4 to split and the pasta was very fresh. We had linguine w/ clams, and arrabiata. It was nice to choose your own noodle and sauce separately. I wanted gnocchi, but they were out of it. 3) Mattarello, US Embassy area - Viale Liegi 64, 00198 Roma Our first night in Rome and we wanted something quick and easy next to the Hilton Garden Inn. The pizza was very tasty and hit the spot after a long day of traveling. We also had arrabiata that was tasty with fresh pasta. I ordered gnocchi, but they said it's summer and didn't have it. 3) Luzzi, Coliseum area - Via di San Giovanni in Laterano 88, 00184 Roma We also ordered a calzone, minestrone and pasta a fagioli here, but they said they weren't making them. All on the menu, but not available. We ended up with lasagna that was okay and I had a capricciosa pizza (mushroom, olive, hard-boiled egg and prosciutto) that was good, but a burnt crust. The thing that killed this place for my son was the burnt crust, gobs, I mean gobs of cheese, and the 20 minute wait. All of us received out food within about 10 minutes -and he sat there watching us eat. The waiter didn't care - it was pretty sad. The pizza that did come came with gobs of cheese that wasn't fully melted. He had a couple slices, but we ended up with more than half wasted. We choose this specific place because of the other positive reviews. What a shame. BTW - they only serve gnocchi on Thursday, so no luck for me again! read more

It took them 45min to bring the food and when they did it tasted really bad. Pasta was clearly rushed thru hot water and served uncooked and the tomatoe sauce was straight off the can, not even warm (yeah it was cold). What a disgrace. Stay away from this tourist trap. read more

I had walked past this restaurant many times as I am straying near Fontana Di Trevi. On our last night in Rome we decided even though it was a bit pricey, we really needed a good risotto before we left Rome. We ordered a risotto fungi and nonnas lasagne to go as it had been a long day. 5 minutes from restaurant to table we opened our dinner. I'll start with the lasagne. It was ok, like nothing above average. Could probably find better in most places anywhere around the world, I don't think nonna would be very happy to have her good name tarnished by this lame simpletons lasagne. And then there was the risotto... Well, let me tell you. It was horrible. Plane and simple. It resembled soup as I opened it. I am a glass is half full type of person so convinced myself "we're in Rome, maybe this is authentically soupy" but alas I was so wrong. The liquid was in fact oil. Thick olive oil. I tried to save what I could by draining the oil (roughly 1/2 - 2/3 cup of it, the bulk of the dish in fact) this did not save it. Bland, gluggy and quite frankly terrifying. If this review saves even one person from experiencing the same trauma my girlfriend and myself have endured then it is well worth it. I am not a pretentious foody so this is not an overstatement, yet I have 10+ years in hospitality, and I would be disgusted to serve this to any of my customers. However, if you are in the market to pay €12 (au$18) for a bowl of oil garnished with rice and some leaky mushrooms, you'll love this place. But for the majority, you have been duly warned. Stay Away this place!! We were looking at the menu when a gentleman came over (who is there marketing rep) to explain. He stated that the pasta was free when we ordered from the sauces which did not make sense and when we were about to leave he managed to convince my hungry husband to give them a try.. I asked if there was a cover fee and was told no...Well upon being seated we were asked if we were ready to order without looking at the menu.. When the waitress came over she was very kind and patient. I asked for clarification of what we were told earlier and she said the pasta is not free, as I thought.. My husband asked what did the chicken come with and was told a serving of vegetables.. I ordered the fettuccini with Asparagus sauce. When the food arrived it was flat no flavor and the asparagus sauce was watered down and the asparagus mushy! When I called to speak with the manager he said that I ordered an "Italian flavorless plate" and that the chicken is fine.. He was rude and disrespectful... Called us stupid in italian and he did nothing to appease us just sat down to finish he dinner. Upon leaving the marketing rep told me I did not understand and proceeded to say "you do not understand english"... As an American born and raised I took an insult not only to the full disrespect since I am paying for a service but to the racial insult.... Had a great experience here! I went for lunch by myself, and my server, Walter, was the nicest guy. Definitely great service. The pasta was good, and the portion was large. I had enough left overs for dinner (mind you, I'm a smaller person, so it might not be as much to others.) The food was reasonably priced, but the drinks were pricey- €4 for a small bottle of orange juice from concentrate. Nonetheless, my entire meal, service and tip included, was around €15. The seating indoors is clean and cozy. Outdoors has cars and trucks constantly passing by, in addition to the smokers. Definitely want to try more of their pasta should I find myself in Rome again. read more
