This has to be one of the best pasteles I have ever had. We had to call the owner since they weren't where google takes you, but instead were down the street. The owner let us know where he was, we put in our order and then he brought it to our car. The flavor hits you right away in a good way. Loved the taste Of the rice and pasteles. Definitely need to try it again before I leave Maui.

Decided to go to the Sunday Night Market after work. They had a long line to order but surprisingly the food was ready in less than five minutes. The lumpia combo late was great. Lumpia was delicious and the gandule rice was good. Pastele was delicious. I really enjoyed it and will definitely come again.

Yummmmmty as usual! They never disappoint me with their flavor. Quality is always top priority for them. They know what they're doing and everything taste great from the Pandeja, Pastele, Lumpia, Ganduri Rice. I could do without the tomato onion and the little cupcake but it does complete the plate. Their cupcake is always super moist too. -- My favorite is the Pandeja Combo. They totally mastered their Pandeja, it's cooked perfectly and that crust! Omg like buttery flaky goodness. So good! They haven't had a 2 for $5 special in a while on those so hope they bring that back! Seriously, so ono! They offer mild or spicy pastele. I say go spicy! It's not even spicy but the flavor is a little bit extra lol. They do offer some other local kine grinds like Hawaiian plate, Lau Lau or Kalua Pig. Haven't tried those but I'm sure they're ono too. The aunty who takes orders is always super nice! They take cash or card. They also pump out your order pretty quick. So if the line is long, no worries, stand in line cause it goes through quick and your food comes out just as fast!

Pastele House never disappoints. My favorite is the Super Combo. You get a little bit of everything- pastele, gandule rice, 2- pastele lumpia, panadeja, tomato salad, and a cupcake. My #1 of all items is the pastele lumpia. The flavors are perfect and delicious. Go get some kau kau. Your tummy will be happy.

I don't know if it was a total dream, but i felt like i had the BEST acai bowl in godly existence - the multi-base option was NUTS, each base (my favorite being the mango one, but also the pitaya one hits home for me) was textured so well and the flavoring was awesome! The fruits are fresh as hell, and i was surprised i was paying less than many places for a TON of food! wow i would fly to Maui again just for this

Had the pleasure of trying this place out on sunday night at the sunday market at old kahului shopping center. It was delicious. Gaundle rice, pastele was pretty good. I enjoyed the rum cupcake it was delicious although I couldn't taste the rum hehe The girl taking the order was really friendly I really like that. Great customer service. They kept up with the busy crowd. Will be back to try other dishes. Pastele house you guys rock got my cravings satisfied..

Nicest lady and such good food! The açaí bowl had tons of toppings. Will definitely be back.

I recently developed an allergy to pork (amongst other things). Yes, pork guys....which means no more kalua pig...no more carnitas...no more lechon...no more chili verde...I could go on and on. This also meant no more pasteles. Rough life huh?! Well, my lovely friends at Pastele House have solved my problem! They make vegetarian pasteles, and they're delicious! So if you're a vegetarian or just trying to cut your meat intake, please message them! They're filled with tofu, garbanzo beans and olives and you can order them by the dozen (regular or spicy) . They still do all their normal Puerto Rican goodies and well as Hawaiian food too. Maybe one day they'll make vegetarian panadejas too! I should ask them about that lol. Yum!!

I have finally succeeded in getting my hands on the panadeja from the little green house! Albeit, I only got one & it was the spicy variety since well... that's all they had left. I'll take it! They're usually open on the weekdays when I'm at work, so I had to send my husband on a special mission to get me some lunch from their trailer. Bless his heart. Tip: follow their Instagram account to find out IF they're open and WHERE to find them. Sometimes they're at the Harbor. Other times they're at the Shell Gas Station. So about that panadeja (Puerto Rican version of an empanada).... the crust was perfectly cooked to a flaky golden brown. The inside -- filled with meat, olives, & possibly some other ingredients -- was absolutely delicious. Oh my gosh. I don't normally like spicy food, but this had just the right amount of spice to add that extra layer of flavor. Yum! I can't stop thinking about it. I also got a mild pastele plate which comes with gandule rice, a cupcake, & tomatoes since it's their namesake and I've never had pastele before. I was already full, but took a few bites and what I did have was also good. The cupcake was yummy and the gandule rice had a generous amount of meat mixed in. They do offer a few other things on their limited menu and I really want to try the mild panadeja (hopefully more than one, lol) & the pastele lumpia next! I'm not all too familiar with Puerto Rican cuisine, but Pastele House is definitely a great introduction to their eats.

This was our last stop before heading back to the airport to go back to Fl .. and both my husband n I throughly enjoyed it. What a perfect way to end our anniversary trip. The Pastele was very scrumptious and comforting at the same time. We also really enjoy the açaí bowl on the go after that meal. So refreshing and very good flavor. But the best thing about this food truck is the hospitality that we received from the owner. What a pleasant experience

Nothing short of phenomenal! Puerto Rican and Hawaiian food at it's best. Been enjoying their food for years. So blessed to have them on Maui. Give them a try if you haven't. So ono.

This is truly a FAMILY run business and it's one of the best and kindest families on the island of Maui. They are located at the Wailuku food trucks lot at 1960 Main Street in front of Maluhia Collective and next to Dolish and Like Poke. They also do a lot of events so you can find them all around maui town. You can often see their kids helping and working (taking orders etc). The food is excellent but I am also here to talk about acai bowls. It's a weird thing for them to have on the menu since it doesn't match with the theme of the truck but oh my gosh, it's a MUST. I've told at least a hundred people about it because I am an acai bowl connoisseur. This is one of my favorites on the island. They don't add apple juice to thin out the base. It's a solid thick base that doesn't melt immediately after you order it. It comes with however many toppings you want to add at no extra charge and it's a huge serving. I add my own bee pollen (from home) lol. But you HAVE TO TRY IT. 10/10. I eat it at least once a week. The texture is perfect.

After staying on Oahu and driving past lots of roadside pastele spots on the way to the airport, I got a craving for my favorite Puerto Rican comfort food. But when I landed on Maui, I could not find ANY pastele spots and especially none that were open. So I had to ask google and up pops Pastele House. I did a drive by and couldn't find it. I even texted them to ask if they were hiding, but unfortunately they were not parked on a Monday (granted it was Labor day). They said they'd be there the next few days so I said alright, I'll come back. Thursday rolls around and I finally find them parked on the side of the road. That bright green truck calling my name! I ordered the pastele plate (1 pastele, some arroz con gandules, some side salsa and what I'm guessing was dessert-a yellow cupcake). This hit the spot! The pastele was HOT and had good chunks of pork in it. Maybe it's a Hawaiian thing but they used black olives instead of the spanish olives. All good, I like all olives. The arroz was pretty good too. Had a good amount of stickiness to it. My only regret was not getting 2 or 3 more pasteles. I would definitely go back here when I'm on Maui to get mas pasteles!

Beans were well cooked and flavored. So was the rice. The bananas/ plantains added good sweet flavor to the whole meal. The coconut cheese was interesting. Never had that before but it did taste like cheese and added flavor. The jackfruit arepa sandwich that we had, could have had the jackfruit, cheese, plantains mixed together better. The jackfruit bowl was better as it was easier to mix everything and get all the flavors together. Pretty much same as the sandwich but a little more and easier to mix (so would recommend the bowl over the sandwich). The sandwich seemed to be made of rice. We also had a mango and a coconut slushie drink. The mango tasted like the mango concentrate from Costco (sugary) and the coconut was a little more original/ different. We liked both though. Limited indoor seating. Outdoor seating available. Steady flow of patrons. The only thing I didn't like was that the price was a bit high though in my opinion but I guess everything in Maui is that high priced. Update: went back and got a coconut slushie drink again :) and tried the plant based mushroom and cheese (coconut cheese) and fish empanada. They were delicious with the mushroom being our favorite. The chipotle sauces and cilantro onion sauces were delicious as well! The empanadas are not made to order (they are premade so you cannot seperate out the cheese from the mushroom but it does not have a strong flavor). I also liked the coconut slushie by itself vs mixed with mango. Note: The empanadas come in 2: when you eat in house, a red Chipotle sauce and white cilantro onion sauce are given with it (as well as with the arepas); there is another sauce for vegans (think it's a cilantro/ oil/ spice sauce). We liked the white sauce better than the vegan sauce. The empanadas are not made to order (they are premade). If you order to go, you are only given once sauce. If you want more than one, you need to just add it on before you leave with the big dispensers. Otherwise, you only get one sauce (not sure why you can't just add white and red sauce in the same to go container but we weren't given the option). And, to make things worse, the lady said curtly she would charge me next time for 2 sauces "due to the plastic". well, thank you for not charging me but the statement was unnecessary IMHO. Note for improvement (and for this, I was tempted to drop the star rating): we came here multiple times and gave your business a lot of our dollars (about 135.00), yet the above statement, I don't think was necessary if you are trying to provide good customer service. You should gladly offer extra of the sauce or even, as I suggested above, allow customers to add the sauce themselves if they want more than 1 sauce and you don't want us to "use up your plastic containers". Kind of left a bad taste in our mouths.

I wanted to like this place but the whole experience was pretty sketchy…read more I ordered food at a different truck for myself but my little one wanted a hotdog so I went to Da Nani Pirates truck to order food for him and a can of coke for the wife. In usual fashion I ordered on the electronic kiosk... one hot dog and one can of coke. A few minutes later I was called to the window and was told they don't have cans of coke and they're out of hot dogs. Unfortunately that's what I was told to order from the people I was ordering for. When I asked for a refund the guy at the window said "we don't give refunds". So i responded "but I purchased a hot dog and a coke and you don't have them available. Why doesn't the menu say SOLD OUT or something? My wife and son wanted those specific items. It seems reasonable to refund my purchase, no?" So the worker responded "well can you ask your son if he wants something else? I'll exchange at no cost. And your wife can pick a different drink". Funny, because the grilled cheese, corn dog, and hot dog are all $7.95 haha so of course it would be at no additional cost. So I left the window and asked what my son wanted instead of a hot dog. Naturally he only wanted the hot dog, so I forced him to choose between a grilled cheese and a corn dog (I'm sure every parent has been in this situation and feels my pain). After a few minutes of arguing he decided on a grilled cheese. And feeling bad for me, my wife didn't care what drink she got, thank the lord! So I went back to the window and told him I'll take the corn dog. The man in the window then told me "hey, I found a hot dog. It was buried in the back of the cooler".... I'm not sure how confident I feel about him "finding a hot dog somewhere" when before he was beyond confident he didn't have any. And there's no way I'm walking back to the table with a hot dog after I forced my son to get a grilled cheese. Disclaimer than the seared Ahi fish tacos were good here. So to summarize, a terrible experience. And I definitely woipsnt stte go through that again There are a ton of food trucks who had way better customer service. I won't be going back unfortunately

It was made to order. It was definitely fresh and refreshing. It was a bit pulpy which is actually how I like my citrus juice. The guy here clearly hates his job or just hates the slew of tourists. I had ordered two of the pineapple juice but he must have misheard and only gave me one. He was quite annoyed that I wanted another one even though it meant more revenue for him. I thought he was just stressed from the long line so I gave him a nice tip hoping it'd make his day. No change in attitude and from the reviews here, it seems like that's just how he is.  The reviews here about the long wait is spot on. There were 4 people in front of me. It still took more than 30 minutes and the line behind got significantly longer. After I got my drink and settled to the table behind, I noticed the line was gone and he had temporarily closed the shop. There is a fruit stand next door so I didn't mind the wait since my kids did some shopping. This was the only juice stand off of Honoapilian Highway around Lahaina that I saw. Good to stop by for some fresh drinks but be prepared for the wait and brace yourself with the service.

BEST FILIPINO FOOD ON THE ISLAND!…read more During my 1 week stay at Maui I probably came here about 5 times. I went here right after getting off the airport to get some quick comfort food before checking in to my stay in Kīhei and Tagpuan happened to be on the way. I ordered the chicken Inasal and pork lumpia and from those two simple dishes I could tell that this place was legit. IMO that inasal's definitely better than Mang Inasal back in PI and much better than the Inasal I've had in the Bay Area so hopefully that hypes it up enough. Kept coming back almost every single day till I left to go back to the mainland. In that time I also had the grilled liempo (pork belly), crispy pork belly, and longanisa sliders - all excellent dishes. Really love the sauce selections they use for their dishes too - pretty good balance of acid to cut the fat making the dishes feel not too heavy. The food truck is currently nestled in what seems to be an auto shop lot. There's a nice clean bathroom access via the auto shop near the food truck itself. Lots of parking, a few benches to eat at, and of course, really good food. The couple that run Tagpuan are incredibly kind and hard working people. Would highly recommend - not only to support a local business owner (who's from Lāhainā) but because they serve genuinely good and authentic Filipino food.
