The shop has these large sliding doors that open the area to the outside, so it feels like the entire place is under a covered patio. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside. I love their variety of food, which includes sandwiches, pastries, and a great variety of macarons. If you love lattes with flavor, they have a wonderful variety of flavors as well. My go to was the latte with mocha and hazelnut flavor. Sandwiches were delightful too. They can serve it to you warm or cold. Their ceramic mugs, plates, and silverware were super cute. At a certain level, words begin to fail because great pizza is not analyzed... it's experienced. It's the kind of food that causes conversations to stop mid-sentence because everyone at the table suddenly realizes something special is happening. That's Ciccarelli's. I've lived in Coeur d'Alene barely three weeks and my wife and I have already been there three times. At this point, resistance appears futile. Every pizza we've tried has been a masterpiece. Not "really good." Not "our favorite in town." Masterpiece. The crust alone deserves poetry -- blistered, wood-fired perfection with that delicate balance of crispness, chew, char, and tenderness that only happens when people truly understand dough. Every ingredient tastes intentional. Nothing feels thrown together. Every bite -- from the tip of the slice to the outer crust -- is a full gastronomic experience. Over the past couple of years, though, we have noticed the level of service decline as the hours have expanded. While I appreciate the additional hours, I am not sure the staff feel the same way. I understand there will always be turnover and new employees, but it feels like some of what made this place special has been lost. Today we called ahead to place an order for a couple dozen donuts. We were on hold for about five minutes, and when placing the order, I had to repeat myself several times after almost every donut. We let them know we would be there in about two hours. When we arrived, the donuts had not been boxed yet. I mentioned that we had placed the order a couple of hours earlier and received a quick, somewhat snappy "OK" in response. It just didn't feel great. When we got home, we realized several of the donuts were not what we ordered. Nothing was mentioned when we picked them up about being out of anything. I assume some of the donuts we ordered may have sold out during those two hours, which is also why I wish the order had been boxed when we called. Had someone simply apologized and said, "We're sorry, we ran out of a few of the donuts you ordered," I would have been completely fine with it. I understand that people get busy and things happen. But you are never too busy to provide good service. We still love the donuts and want this place to be great. I just hope they can get back to the level of service that made us such loyal customers for so many years.
