High quality bakery with pizza, sandwiches, pastries, salads, and bagels. Normally eat gluten free, but had a regular bagel and it had that dreamy chewy texture with a crusty outside. Had with their house cream cheese and it's so much better than store bought. Husband had the orange chocolate scone which had that bright orange flavor and managed to be moist for a scone. Pizza was 4/5 per his report. 3 items was only $13 so it's fairly affordable as well. Lots of seating, although we came at noon and it was very full. Service was as expected for this type of place. Thanks!!

BEST EVER PIZZA, and pastries. Service is always so fast and yes just long enough to make freshly baked goods. The place is just what you need on a bad day to make it better. Everything there is industrial and yet it feels so homey.

Probably the best pizza in town you've never heard of. My favorite is the bee. The ambiance isn't really suited for dining in or a date, but there are plenty of great locations to eat outside once you order. It's not a place where you go to get dined on.

Fresh bread, incredible looking wood fired pizzas, and Mexican coke! Perfect lunch spot while your exploring coeur d Alene

I love this place. I can tell they use good ingredients in their bread because I never get a stomach ache after eating here. Their pizza is amazing, my favorite pizza in town. They have delicious pretzel bread that is always sold out too. If you come later in the day, don't expect them to have a full stock of bread, as they often run out quickly. The employees are always nice and quick with the orders too.

While downtown I wanted a sandwich at a new place. I looked up and found Back Pocket Bakery. I couldn't find it at first but was surprised to see that it was right next to the bike shop that I frequent but had never noticed it. The place looks nice and homey, though devoid of plants which usually adds to homeyness. I was on the phone when I ordered but the kind server was very perceptive and interpreted my pointing and hand motions quite well. I ordered The Deli despite thinking $16 was too much for a sandwich. When the sandwich came to my table, I was quite surprised to see how hardy it was. It had a lot of ingredients, was big and I could only eat half. It's a perfect sandwich to share. It was delicious. The bread was oh so fresh and delicious perfectly complimenting the meat veggies and sauce inside. I'll definitely order it again. Finding the bathroom is a trip as the diner walks through a mini kitchen, not in use by the staff, before finding it. My biggest wish for this place is that they would offer a half size sandwich for when it's only you and you have only $10 in your pocket or looking for something on a budget. The server was very friendly and seemed happy to grab a to-go box for me. My son enjoyed the second half at home and wants to go there as well. A solid place to eat! I'll be back.

I don't want to say that crust makes the loaf, but I totally agree with another reviewer that they have mastered a firm crust that you can actually use your bread knife to cut through. Beyond that, the flavors of their rye breads are incredible! We got two different ones, and they were both distinctly different in texture and density, yet made a wonderful sandwich base. We visited them at the Kootenai farmers market, and they had a line that stretched for 30 yards. I asked a nice lady in front of me what I should look for, and she told me what ever they had left lol!

My friends and I picked up sandwiches (meatball for them and deli for myself) and they were delicious!! The bread was so fresh. My deli sandwich had the perfect ratio of condiments, meat, cheese and lettuce. I subbed turkey for the ham and it was thickly sliced and delicious. Loved the pickle on the side. Will definitely be back to try their bagels and pizza... and cookies! Everything looked amazing!

Pretty good food. Kind of pricy for what you get, but it definitely was worth trying.

Ciccarelli's -- Coeur d'Alene…read more As someone who has traveled extensively -- including throughout Italy, one of my favorite places on earth -- I do not say this lightly: Ciccarelli's serves some of the finest pizza I have ever eaten. And I mean anywhere. Italy included. There is something almost impossible to describe about truly exceptional pizza. At a certain level, words begin to fail because great pizza is not analyzed... it's experienced. It's the kind of food that causes conversations to stop mid-sentence because everyone at the table suddenly realizes something special is happening. That's Ciccarelli's. I've lived in Coeur d'Alene barely three weeks and my wife and I have already been there three times. At this point, resistance appears futile. Every pizza we've tried has been a masterpiece. Not "really good." Not "our favorite in town." Masterpiece. The crust alone deserves poetry -- blistered, wood-fired perfection with that delicate balance of crispness, chew, char, and tenderness that only happens when people truly understand dough. Every ingredient tastes intentional. Nothing feels thrown together. Every bite -- from the tip of the slice to the outer crust -- is a full gastronomic experience. Favorites so far: THAT'S AMORE -- red sauce, pepperoni, Italian sausage, red onion, black olives & mozzarella. THE SPICY ITALIAN -- spicy red sauce, pesto, Italian sausage, red onions, fresh mozzarella, parmesan & basil. Ridiculously good. THE STELLA -- olive oil base, goat cheese, prosciutto, apricot preserves & honey drizzle. Sweet, savory, luxurious, and somehow perfectly balanced. And the Pizza Margherita... Listen carefully: A Margherita pizza is the ultimate truth serum for a pizza restaurant. You cannot hide behind toppings. It exposes everything -- crust, sauce, cheese, balance, restraint, technique. Ciccarelli's passes that test with flying colors. Their Margherita has become my weekly sustenance pizza. And then... The desserts. Good grief. Most restaurants treat dessert like an afterthought. Ciccarelli's treats it like a sacred continuation of the meal. I am slowly working my way through their dessert offerings, but I keep getting derailed by the BLACK BOTTOM COCONUT CREAM PIE. I have been eating coconut cream pie for over seventy years. Seventy. I have NEVER had anything like this pie. The rich saturation of flavor... the generous texture of real coconut... the black bottom... whatever culinary sorcery is occurring back there needs to be protected by national treaty. It is so good that you could honestly justify visiting Ciccarelli's solely for dessert. Also outstanding: * Piña Colada Cream Pie * Strawberry Shortcake Torte * Napoleon * Cannoli The restaurant itself is immaculate, intimate, warm, and beautifully designed. Seating is limited, however, and deservedly so. My advice? Get there early or go on a weekday if possible. They also offer lovely outdoor seating. And finally, the family behind it all. There is something unmistakable about a place built by people who genuinely love what they do, love each other, and love the experience they are creating for others. You can feel it the moment you walk in. That kind of thing cannot be faked. Ciccarelli's is not merely a restaurant. It's one of those rare places people discover and then quietly hope doesn't become too famous because they still want to get a table. An absolute gem in Coeur d'Alene.

We were in a mood for pasta-- and this one popped up on Yelp. It was nice we didn't have a wait. There was a nice regular stream of folks entering in and out so we were glad we picked this place. Food was good. For appetizers, we ordered the Rotolo. It's a blob of mozzarella cheese covered with dough and baked with Parmesan cheese on top. It was YUMMY. The Pomodoro sauce on the side was banging. For mains, we ordered the Chardonnay Alfredo, pomodoro pasta, and a Margherita pizza. Pastas were excellent. The Alfredo had a sweetness, which I am guessing came from the Chardonnay they might have made with. It was a bit too cheesy for me, but flavor was great. The vegetarian Pomodoro was delicious as well. Pizza was totally meh. Talking of more disappointment, let's talk about the wait times and service. We ordered drinks for two people. Only one came. We kept waiting for the second one for almost 20 minutes. Turns out the waitress had forgotten. Once we reminded her, she brought it promptly. The appetizer came after another 20 minutes. The entrees came after another 20-25 minutes. Yep, an hour. Was the food worth the wait? Not when you are hungry!

My last visit there, after my first review, was, maybe, a little strange.. I had brought my date to the restaurant. The waitress/bar tender in question, 'and my date' had a conversation. Not sure if it was weird for them. Ok...what's my point, Is it paranoia, or is the waitress avoiding me??; that was the question in my brain today. the manager finally came. BTW (the waitress in question told me THIS manager is aware of developments between her and i). The manager finally ended up serving me. Did seem very cheerful? No. Just doing his job. When i finished my food. I asked the maître D. to please say "hi" to her, the waitresd in quetion. She said, she'd do that for me. It seemed, apperantly, that she was there. But, but....again!.....i tell you,,,, Boy was the food good, AGAIN!! THE GREEN SALAD with cranberries is to die for. "Really good"! I have been there many times, and the food is ALWAYS good, TOP NOTCH. BUT, but.....The staff was stand-offish. As i write these words in this review, i sound paranoid, suspisious, don't i? But am i? You be the judge. Tito's you get 3 stars because i am a pretty frequent customer, but i wasn't feeling very welcomed.

I went poking around on Untappd and looked up anything Black Lodge Brewing may have made and they certainly had some intriguing beers so I held off on getting a Yelp review posted for it. But on my second visit I was told that they don't brew their own beer anymore and that they only have guest taps from other breweries but they still had a good variety of beer to choose from as far as beer options go. So this place is more of a taphouse with guest taps so something to keep in mind. It's still as cool as I remember it. My last visit here looked like a concert was going to start. Might have been a metal or a punk oriented type band as that was what the audience appeared to be. I wasn't going to see the show and just wanted a beer so they were nice enough to let me in to do just that. Black Lodge Brewing is one of those breweries that is inspired by the TV show Twin Peaks and you pick up subtle nods to it there with some pictures of Laura Palmer. Either they were pre-cooked and reheated, or the kitchen simply didn't care. When our server checked in, we explained the issue and said we'd prefer not to eat them. She called the manager over, and that's when things got worse. To his credit, he offered to have the kitchen remake them, but knowing how kitchens react when an entire table sends food back, we declined. Then he held up the burger and claimed, "When burgers are thin, it's hard to cook them correctly." The problem? These burgers were clearly not thin...which I pointed out to him. Finally, he stormed off saying, "Fine - this is on me then, and we won't charge you." Charge us? Really? As if that was even an option after serving three inedible meals.
