Ciccarelli's -- Coeur d'Alene As someone who has traveled extensively -- including throughout Italy, one of my favorite places on earth -- I do not say this lightly: Ciccarelli's serves some of the finest pizza I have ever eaten. And I mean anywhere. Italy included. There is something almost impossible to describe about truly exceptional pizza. At a certain level, words begin to fail because great pizza is not analyzed... it's experienced. It's the kind of food that causes conversations to stop mid-sentence because everyone at the table suddenly realizes something special is happening. That's Ciccarelli's. I've lived in Coeur d'Alene barely three weeks and my wife and I have already been there three times. At this point, resistance appears futile. Every pizza we've tried has been a masterpiece. Not "really good." Not "our favorite in town." Masterpiece. The crust alone deserves poetry -- blistered, wood-fired perfection with that delicate balance of crispness, chew, char, and tenderness that only happens when people truly understand dough. Every ingredient tastes intentional. Nothing feels thrown together. Every bite -- from the tip of the slice to the outer crust -- is a full gastronomic experience. Favorites so far: THAT'S AMORE -- red sauce, pepperoni, Italian sausage, red onion, black olives & mozzarella. THE SPICY ITALIAN -- spicy red sauce, pesto, Italian sausage, red onions, fresh mozzarella, parmesan & basil. Ridiculously good. THE STELLA -- olive oil base, goat cheese, prosciutto, apricot preserves & honey drizzle. Sweet, savory, luxurious, and somehow perfectly balanced. And the Pizza Margherita... Listen carefully: A Margherita pizza is the ultimate truth serum for a pizza restaurant. You cannot hide behind toppings. It exposes everything -- crust, sauce, cheese, balance, restraint, technique. Ciccarelli's passes that test with flying colors. Their Margherita has become my weekly sustenance pizza. And then... The desserts. Good grief. Most restaurants treat dessert like an afterthought. Ciccarelli's treats it like a sacred continuation of the meal. I am slowly working my way through their dessert offerings, but I keep getting derailed by the BLACK BOTTOM COCONUT CREAM PIE. I have been eating coconut cream pie for over seventy years. Seventy. I have NEVER had anything like this pie. The rich saturation of flavor... the generous texture of real coconut... the black bottom... whatever culinary sorcery is occurring back there needs to be protected by national treaty. It is so good that you could honestly justify visiting Ciccarelli's solely for dessert. Also outstanding: * Piña Colada Cream Pie * Strawberry Shortcake Torte * Napoleon * Cannoli The restaurant itself is immaculate, intimate, warm, and beautifully designed. Seating is limited, however, and deservedly so. My advice? Get there early or go on a weekday if possible. They also offer lovely outdoor seating. And finally, the family behind it all. There is something unmistakable about a place built by people who genuinely love what they do, love each other, and love the experience they are creating for others. You can feel it the moment you walk in. That kind of thing cannot be faked. Ciccarelli's is not merely a restaurant. It's one of those rare places people discover and then quietly hope doesn't become too famous because they still want to get a table. An absolute gem in Coeur d'Alene. read more

What a great spot. Sweet family run - mama is killing it! Everything we got was outstanding. And one of the best, freshest salads I've ever had. We got Cesar salad, Mediterranean Cesar (small size add chicken a perfect size) a Bianca, Stella, Amore, spicy Italian, and butcher block. For dessert lemon cheesecake, eclair, and carrot cake. We are big carrot cake fans and are constantly comparing to our hometown from a place called the buttery - we've never found anything close until mama Ciccarelli! Service was super friendly (her son) and fast. Not a ton of tables but doesn't feel cramped. And they do have outdoor seating which is nice too. read more

Excellent personal style pizzas with various flavors. The desserts looked amazing (stilling waiting to try them as I'm writing this review). According to the staff, desserts rotate daily. The service was friendly and helpful, always on top of service without being overwhelming. Definitely will be back. Only negative would be consider a bigger building. Ok.... We come here every weekend specifically Friday. We always order the That's Amori and I believe it's the pork and pineapple pizza for the kids, glass of red blend and Mediterranean Caesar salad. These are the cakes/pies we have been ordering for the last 2 months, lilikoi cheesecake, lemon meringue pie, chocolate mousse cake, cannolis, coconut cream pie, pistachio pie, carrot cake, tiramisu and I believe they had coconut lime cake at some point. We order these over and over either to go or for dine in. All of them are good. I think we found our pizza place and dessert place. We used to go to Spokane for pizza but not anymore! Staying at a local hotel and stopped by for a dinner. Ordered a classic pepperoni pizza and small house salad. The salad was plated well, the almonds had a nice crunch and the dressing was excellent. My pizza pie was cooked to a perfect crunch, just thin enough and is close to a perfect pie. What an elegant touch to a pizza restaurant, beers and wine options are right on. What a little gem! Never went because there's so many pizza places around here, but everyone should give it a try. High quality sourdough pizza that's wood-fired, as well as a cauliflower crust GF option. We had the Pepperdew & Pepperoni as well as the Veggie. Sauce is full of flavor and overall the pizza is really great. But omg - the desserts are fabulous with a GF option as well. We tried the Blueberry Cream Pie and it was a total treat, the crust isn't a standard pie crust, but more like a puff pastry crust. Delish! Pizza was great. I love pizza, and I love pepperoni pizza even better. This was a great pepperoni pizza. Soft dough, crispy crust, cheesy cheese, and flavorful pepperoni! My GF had a salad. She liked that as well. The pizza was kinda like NY style, yum. The waitress was phenomenal. She was the youngest of the family owned business. She was so likeable and God fearing that I gave her a $50 tip. It was just my GF and I. The waitress is 19, so I'm sure she appreciated the tip. Thank you what ever your name was; sorry I forgot your name. The restaurant is small, but I'm sure they do a lot of take-out business. They use a true fire-burning oven! The margarita pizza had a thin crust, very soft and thin, collapsing, lots of fresh mozarella, delicious, delicate taste. House salad was made out of arugula. An eclair was the best part of the meal, very light and fresh, with fresh & delicious cream. Had dinner here a couple of weeks ago and the pizza was amazing. Ordered the Spicy Italian and it's my new favorite pizza in the area. The sauce was so tasty, the crust was light and perfect, and the pesto and basil made it a flavorful surprise. This place is amazing and it's gotten better over time. The family that owns it is wonderful as well. Great pizza and the house made desserts are to die for. We usually don't get dessert at a pizza place but at Ciccarelli's, it's probably the best desserts in the state. (Idaho and Washington). My wife and I went to Ciccarelli 's for the first time recently and we will definitely go back. I think they make the best Neapolitan style pizza in CDA. Service is great and the space has a nice bistro feel to it. They have a very good wine and beer list. I was pleasantly surprised to find a number of my favorite Belgian beers available, though this time we shared a nice bottle of Italian wine. Be sure to try their fantastic baked goods, too. This is a fantastic family run pizza restaurant and bakery that is definitely worth a visit if you are in Coeur d'Alene! read more

We stopped in just for the bakery and ordered the éclair, chocolate mousse, and brownie torte--all of which were phenomenal. The éclair was my personal favorite. The cashier was friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. I didn't get a full look around, but the entrance and register area were clean. I also appreciated that the pastries were kept in a case, away from the flies (which seemed to be everywhere in Coeur d'Alene during our visit). We started with a caesar side salad and a spinach arugula side salad, both very good.the pizzas are all 12" here, so the two of us split one. We ordered the Greek- artichokes, kalamatas, and added chicken. It was so yummy! Now, be sure to save room for desserts - unbelievable! We found Ciccarelli's because we were temporarily apartment-bound (new in town and waiting for our house to be constructed). We happened to live directly over Ciccarelli's. Huge unexpected benefit! They have excellent pizza, with a nice thin crust and some of the most creative topping combos there are. You have to try the Stella. Goat cheese, Prosciutto and apricot preserves. I thought it sounded terrible but my wife ordered it. She loved it and gave me a slice. I was hooked. The owners are wonderful, friendly people and we enjoyed getting to know them since we were in there once a week. I'd call, place an order, and it was seldom more than 15 minutes to get it ready. That's a lot better than an hour! We tried a few desserts and they were all good. Just can't say enough about this place. Maybe sometime we'll have to eat in instead of taking out. read more
