One caveat about Lilac City Bakery - any of their baked goodies you see on display have likely been sitting there a while. We went in ... wow! It all looks so enticing. We wanted to grab a couple muffins for the road. I asked for this one that had a crumble and icing swirl on top. She said it was blueberry. Cool! I'm guessing it's got some great, wild, locally sourced blueberries inside this huge muffin. NOPE! It's basically a golden cake muffin and, this one in particular, had 3 TINY almost dried (like the bag you get at Costco) blueberries. The whole muffin was D-R-Y! Sad, because I had high (expectations) hopes for a nice treat from these folks. It did have good flavor but, c'mon! It was basically crumble frosted dry yellow cake. And for $3.50! I may have to think a while about returning for a third-time's-the-charm visit....

Ordered my son's 1st birthday cake from here and i was blown away by what Lilac City Bakery created for him. Everything from the communication i had with the bakery, to the design of the cake, and to the flavor & taste of the cake was great. My family plans to order more custom cakes from them in the future.

12.00 grilled cheese. The picture makes it look bigger and better than it was. (In our opinion)

Came for a panini. Glad my sister had a gift card. They were out of turkey and had grilled cheese....staff was friendly. Grilled cheese was/is sub par for the 12.00 they charged. Cheese was gloppy and bread was thin.

These were some of the best cupcakes I've ever had! We got eight recently for my sister's birthday and they still taste fresh even the next day. There's always new flavors and they're always delicious! They're fluffy and delicate and the frosting is always so creamy. There's honestly a cupcake for everyone :)! The atmosphere is also pretty cute on the inside and they have nice lighting, the workers are also very nice and I always have an amazing experience!

Red Velvet cup cake to go.

Interior space is great, but both cupcakes were a disappointment. Dry, sickly sweet with little flavor. There are better cupcakes out of a box.

Do not walk in here if you're hungry and easily tempted by sweets because you'llwalk out with several kilos of muffins or other pastries. The smell knocks you over and then the customer service is so good that one wants to buy a wheel barrow load full of goodies. Actually ignore what I said about don't come in hungry. Absolutely do! Food is great. Flat breads are awesome. Soup is terrific. New fave place in Spokane.

We had a cinnamon roll that was still warm and fresh out of the oven and it was amazing! We also had a piece of the chocolate caramel cheesecake and it was delicious. Great service and the people who helped us were very nice. The decorations were so cute and they made a really good setting.

Clean large space which would easy to bring a group. Beautiful presentation and parings of flavors for cupcakes. A bit pricey and yet each cupcake is perfection. The entrance to the bakery is on the side of the building near the patio...it's not well marked. They have many gluten free options...there are muffins , cinnamon rolls, cookies and giant rice crispy treats (yummy). They did have individually wrapped pound type cakes/banana breads.

My husband went in today to buy gluten free cupcakes as a treat for my birthday. Happy to find gluten free cupcakes but not at $5 a piece. It was too late to put some back as they were already boxed up. We really feel discriminated against when businesses like yours price gouge people with allergies and diseases. I know gluten free flour costs more (as I myself am a baker) but you don't have to do a 100% mark up for that flour. Your cupcakes tasted phenomenal but when your competitors are half the price we unfortunately won't be returning customers.

I ordered a custom cake (over the phone - I am in CA) for my daughter's birthday. I described to them what I wanted and WOW! I was amazed how beautiful the cake turned out! And it was super delicious too! I ordered a chocolate cake w/ cream cheese filling. Will DEFINITELY order from them again and again and again! I also frequent the bakery when I am in town and enjoy their delicious baked goods! So fresh, delicious and reasonably priced!

The Grain Shed does a farm to table model and is a bakery and brewery. I got a snack here along with a beer and left quite satisfied. I got a Grilled Cheese Sandwich on some of their house made bread with some Cheddar, Swiss and Provolone cheese. The exact name for this sandwich is the Cheesy Toastie. And of course moving on to the beer... the primary motivator to come here. I got the Kölsch beer here called Field Trip. I do love a good Kölsch as they are nice, light bodied beers. And they are especially nice in the summertime. Flavor features in this beer is maltiness, breadiness, a bit of hoppiness and a dry finish. Another beer that Steve and I tried was the INWPA which was a Pale Ale. It was also a nice light bodied beer which again hit the spot despite it being a different drinking session. Flavor characteristics in this beer is citrus, a yeastiness, hoppiness and a biscuity trait. Good beers and sandwiches and we are aiming for a return whenever we are in Spokane again.

Every contact I've had with Grain Shed employees has been more than pleasant; they truly seem to enjoy working there, and take good care of their customers. I need to shout out to Toby and Audrey before I go on. They each provided 110% on customer service, being personable and making sure we left happy. On 2 separate trips to Spokane, I've visited the Grain Shed 3 and 4 times over the course of 3 days (yes, if you do the math, I went twice in 1 day, and the restaurant was NOT just around the corner!) Everything I've tried is delish, but in case you have to limit yourself, I highly recommend the OG, the beets and feta toast, the bread flight with sauces and cheese, the molasses ginger cookie, and maybe a chocolate croissant. I've heard their bread pudding and pumpkin pie (holiday special) are out of this world! I tried to get over to listen to their live music before leaving town, but still need to squeeze that into my schedule. Travelers: save space in your luggage for a loaf of bread. Sadly, no shipping at this time, but I'm waiting for it! This SoCal resident is officially The Grain Shed's #1 fan. I dare any of you to try to take away my title!
