Looks over substance. I've been here several times, dining in and ordering takeout, because I really want this place to succeed. The concept is great, the space is beautiful, and the area needs a restaurant like this. Unfortunately, the food and service are very inconsistent. I've been served a raw burger, had missing ingredients on a breakfast plate, a very dry carrot cake, and had smoothies that were great one day and bland the next. On the takeout order, they forgot to put a dish in the bag, an employee ran to my car to let me know, and I had to wait another 10 minutes for it. Another concern is that the female manager does not appear to speak English, which unfortunately makes communication difficult. Honestly, we did not have a good experience for our first visit. First at the register 5 employees solving one issue while we are there waiting to place our order. After ordering they gave us a number, changed it, they walked around with our coffee for a while then changed our number again at the table. They brought back the same cold coffee which we returned and got some that was hot. The food was mediocre for the price. The pancakes were missing something, they were flat as a dime and did not include the crème fraiche. The sandwich had a microscopic piece of avocado, the omelette, a bacon slice and arugula. First impressions I was a little disappointed that the young lady at the register didn't speak English at all. I understand this is Doral with a predominantly Spanish speaking community but bilingual is a must especially for the front of a business. The space is beautiful. A little on the pricey side, but as a frequently traveler to SE Asia with every cafe just as beautiful for a fraction of the price I've been spoiled. Avocado toast was pretty good, nothing to alert press about. Pancakes came out a little dark but nonetheless still edible. Overall was slightly underwhelmed as for food and price point. I visited Pat & Phil on a Saturday with a group of friends, and overall we had a really nice experience with a few service hiccups. The restaurant itself is beautiful--very bright, clean, and aesthetically designed. It has a modern, healthy brunch vibe that makes you want to stay for a while. Just know before you go that this isn't full table service. You order and pay at the register first, then find a table, and your food is brought out when it's ready. Personally, I prefer ordering at the table, but that's simply their concept. The food was honestly the highlight. I ordered the Pat & Phil Burger with portobello mushroom buns instead of bread and added bacon. The burger was excellent--super juicy, tender, and flavorful. Unfortunately, they forgot the bacon, so I had to go back to the counter to let them know, but they quickly corrected it. My husband ordered the French Toast, which was delicious, and our group also tried the Pat & Phil Bolognese and another Pat & Phil Burger, and everyone really enjoyed their meals. The biggest issue was the timing. We all ordered separately, and the kitchen seemed to send out dishes based on when each order was placed rather than trying to coordinate the table. One of my friends didn't receive her burger until after the rest of us had already finished eating. She had already been served her matcha latte, but her meal took much longer. On top of that, her burger was supposed to come with sweet potatoes, but it arrived with regular potatoes instead. Even with those issues, the employees were genuinely kind, attentive, and eager to help whenever we needed something. The service felt slow, but not because the staff wasn't trying--they were all very friendly. Overall, I'd definitely come back. The food was genuinely delicious, the atmosphere is beautiful, and I think once they improve the kitchen timing and consistency with orders, this place has the potential to be one of my favorite brunch spots in Doral. read more

Very bougie vibes with beautiful decor and dinnerware. Seats were quite comfortable and there was plenty of seating. Staff were somewhat polite, but seemed very uninterested. This place has the concept of order and pay first at the counter then seat yourself, which I thought was odd for the vibes of this restaurant. There's also no indication of that, so I had to awkwardly waltz to the counter to ask how to go about the process of ordering. After the servers bring you your food, they never again come to check up on you. So if you need a box to take food home, you need to go back to the counter or hope one glances in your direction so you can flag them down. I don't like the idea of paying before ordering because then there's no idea of how much to tip, if at all, which I wouldn't have done knowing what their service would be like. The food itself was decent. The matcha was average and the tuna tartar was tasty, but they give you 3 measly bread circles which don't at all cover the amount of tuna that it comes with. It would've been nice to have rice or more bread circles. Overall decent but not a place I would necessarily frequent. read more

They give you a number for your table. The staff was very friendly. However, not all staff speak English. That is challenging when you take someone who doesn't speak Spanish. Also the table we got had not even been cleaned. I had to ask the server who brought napkins and utensils for extra napkin to wipe table down. Ok let's talk food. I ordered a Rose Matcha and it was ok. A bit too milky and lacked any rose flavor. My friend ordered an iced pistachio latte. She liked her coffee drink. I order a basic breakfast I believe it's the Pat & Phil's basic egg breakfast. My eggs and bacon were a little cold. They also forgot to bring the arepa with it. The whole point is to eat arepa with the eggs. While I waited my food got colder. My friend ordered a Greek salad with Tuna and it was ok. The food came out after some extended period (strange, given that there were only 4 lunchtime entrees). The food was tasty, even it came out wrong (switched the type of fries on two of the entrees and forgot the bacon on my burger). They eventually got it right. It was an experience. I paid $33 for a tiramisu latte and a breakfast sandwich, and waited 28 minutes from the time I ordered until the sandwich was finally brought to my table (after having to ask for the status). The table was also dirty when I sat down, and I had to ask for it to be cleaned. The sandwich was tasty enough, and the latte was good but nothing exceptional for the price. The latte came out quickly, but it was mostly ice -- even by the time I left, the cup still had about 40% ice. I also had tried ordering an açaí bowl but it was out of stock. I visited the resturant In Doral with my teenage sons . We are daily Pura Vida customers and enjoy healthy food of the highest quality ingredients . I found this restaurant through IG and was super excited to try it. First I want to say the place is decorated beautifully and it's very inviting. Once we walked in and got in line I had to ask for a menu because there is no where to see what is available. Once we ordered we sat down and after 10 mins we had to ask for water which normally is something you automatically get but not here. My husband ordered the Pat & Phil eggs and did not eat the food. The eggs were cold and the yuca they gave with it had no flavor and did not taste good at all. My daughter ordered the breakfast sandwich and she said it was bland but the sauce made it edible. I cannot have gluten and this restaurant has GF options which I was excited for. I ordered the GF pancakes and they do not taste good at all and one of them was burnt. They are also $17 for 3 tiny pancakes. I am use to eating GF and know those can taste much better. We ordered coffee and I had to ask for sugar as there is nothing at the table. I informed the manager about my husband's cold eggs and my burnt pancake and he offered to bring me another order of pancakes which I declined but that was it. Nothing else was said regarding our concerns. I would not have cared to pay some of the overpriced items if they were good but they were not. $73 later for breakfast that was not even edible, I must say I would never go back. This was one of the worst breakfast experiences I've ever had. I ordered the pancakes and they never came. The rest of my family received their food almost immediately but my pancakes were nowhere to be found. On top of that I watched as several other people received pancakes while I was left out to dry. I reminded them like 10 times but they never made any progress. Eventually after like 2 hours they finally came but they tasted terrible, it was like tasting lemongrass. On top of that the made us ask for water. In every restaurant I've ever been water was brought immediately, but not at this sinkhole. Furthermore to top it all off, my dad ordered some oatmeal but when it came it was like an overdose of cacao. So he asked for plain oatmeal. But when they came back the had the audacity to conveniently leave out that the only type of oatmeal they had was chocolate which my dad already mentioned that he explicitly didn't want. And to top it all off, I had an allergic reaction because they were stupid enough to leave out any mention of nuts, which I'm allergic to. I would rate this dumpster fire of a restaurant a 0/100. I highly recommend that anyone who wants to eat breakfast avoids this place at all costs. Signing off to the dumbest most inept service on God's green earth. read more
