First, they honored the lifetime warranty that Napa and other auto parts places gave the alternator. Secondly, they gave a year longer warranty on labor than the local Toyota dealerships. Lastly, they have the best price. Replacing the alternator is nearly an $800 job. Because of the high expense, Adam took it upon himself to test it before simply replacing it. It turns out, it wasn't bad after all. My van has a lot of specialized driving equipment that allows me to drive, even though I am a quadriplegic paralyzed from my chest down. When Adam and his team were unsure how to troubleshoot some of the specialized equipment, he did not hesitate to call the handicap equipment company that built my van. They took the time to properly diagnose the problem and even helped me contact a local company specializing in the equipment installed in my van. Furthermore, they did not charge me for all their help! So instead of costing nearly $800 to replace an alternator that was not bad, I was able to replace a $26 backup battery that tied into my Specialty Equipment. I cannot speak highly enough of the team at Melvin's! Adam and the others treated us with respect, honesty, and like family. I know who to call first with any auto issues that my family and I may have in the future! Thank you for all of your help!

I had a Mass Air Flow error on my 2019 Chevy Cruze. Also had a TPMS (tire pressure monitoring…read moresystem) that needed to be replaced. All done in a day and the price was not hateful -- 400 bucks for both including labor. Today the check engine light came on again, related to the MAF. Another MAF related error came up. I happened to read about the air filter before I drove down and mentioned it to Schaeffer. After checking, discovered the filter had warped causing part of the issue. Schaeffer replaced it for free! Always fair and customer driven. Cheers!

I requested a quote to replace the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor on my 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport…read more The shop quoted $388.65 for the OEM sensor, $80 labor, plus $199 for "reprogramming the module," for a total of $744.15. As someone who works on cars myself, I know that a MAF sensor is plug-and-play on this vehicle and does not require any programming. The "reprogramming" they quoted usually just means driving the car around to recalibrate the computer, which takes minutes, yet they charged $200 for it. When I spoke on the phone with a representative who gave the name "Trevor," he said the reprogramming might not even be needed, but they wouldn't know until after doing the work. To me, this interaction felt untrustworthy. He also used jargon unnecessarily to make it sound more complicated than it is, something any reputable mechanic shop should avoid. The labor to replace the sensor is typically 5-10 minutes, and the part can be purchased OEM (Nissan factory) for ~$230-$250. My advice: get a second opinion or buy the part yourself to save hundreds of dollars.

We stopped into Hyundai of St Augustine to look at a used 2019 Honda CR-V. I saw it online and…read morereached out to Dylan Hart. He said the vehicle will be there waiting on us. We drove in from Jacksonville to look at it. * My daughter was in an accident last week which resulted in her vehicle being a total loss. She told me she wanted a white car with dark interior. For the last week we test drove 4 different vehicles types at various dealerships that she has always wanted in the past but could never get. When she was married she really didn't have a choice on what type of vehicle she had but now she does have a choice. The other 4 vehicles she drove she ended up not liking. At one dealership the sales consultant made her feel "stupid" and talked down to her so we left. Today at Hyundai of St Augustine Dylan was with another couple so he asked Jacob Gray (sales consultant) to help us. He was phenomenal with our purchase experience! He was so patient, helpful and super friendly. We've had two Honda CR-V since 2020 and loved each one. My wife had told our daughter all the safety features you are looking for are in the CR-V. For some reason she didn't want to look at it but when she saw this one at Hyundai of St Augustine and test drove she feel in love it! I have to say this was the easiest and best purchase experience we've had purchasing a vehicle in a very long time! All the sales consultants were very friendly. The office staff were friendly and seem to work well with all sales consultants. The finance manager where we signed all the paperwork was also very friendly and helpful. We arrived at the dealership at 3:30pm. Test drove the vehicle. Made the decision. Signed paperwork. They put gas in the car and we were leaving at 6pm. My daughter and grandson were so happy with their new car. Makes me happy to see them in a newer safer vehicle than they had before! So if you are ever in the market for a new or used car (Hyundai or other) I definitely recommend you come and see Hyundai of St Augustine and definitely talk with Jacob Gray!!!! He will treat you like family! Jacob even called several days later to check in on us to see if we had questions or concerns... Thank you Jacob Gray and Dylan Hart for a job well done!!!

My experience with this dealership from start to finish was excellent. The salesman was not pushy at all. We communicated for about a week via email prior to me getting to test drive the car. In the end I got a fair price on the new car and exactly what I wanted for my trade in. Every person I interacted with at the dealership was very friendly. The dealership itself is one of the nicest I've been to. When I came to pick up the car it was detailed, fully charged and topped with a bow waiting for me. Was a nice touch. I definitely recommend Hyundai of St. Augustine.
