Brought these on a Friday, worn for the first time on a Monday... this how they looked by Wednesday.

Here I go again, wanting to support small business. I needed a pair of boots for work. Came here found a pair I liked, but needed a smaller size. The man took the shoes to the back put some insoles inside and brought them back out telling me it was a smaller size... as if I'm that dense. Whatever, they were comfortable and I needed them. So I brought them, it was Friday. He just stuck them in a bag.. no box $141. By Wednesday they are already falling apart. Money down the drain. I should've shopped at a big brand store so I could have some sort of guarantee. Lesson learned. Last time Mash will ever see my business.

This place rocks. It's got a nostalgic flair for anyone who's a military gear affectionado or in need of basic ripstop pants, backpacks you name it. They have an amazing assortment of shoes, clothes, bags, and shemags among so much more. ( read that again as I rhymed) I felt like John Rambo.... as i entered, naturally on a secret mission to save the world... or perhaps buy a T-shirt for my Veteran Dad who instead could be on said mission. Hmmm before this message self destructs just know its quaint but stacked like Pamela Anderson 1999-2001. The owner, Eli had a great personality and made me feel comfortable instead of uneasy like at the other military themed store on 42nd between 8th n 9th. Your mission, if you so choose is to stop by ASAP.

I had been thinking to purchase a pair of inexpensive Boots or Sneakers. They allowed me to take my time and they showed me a lot of love! The stores proprietor Eli was fantastic to me. Wonderful!!!

Photo taken 15 min after he was supposed to be back

I wish I could give this place zero stars. There were plates of open and eaten food in the store, no place to try on the clothes you're about to buy, and then no refunds on the items. He has signs that say do not touch and ask for assistance picking items out, probably because many surplus items are filthy and he doesn't want you to see until the item is in your bag and you've already paid. We were charged $80 for a pair of pants that we couldn't try on, tried to bring them back and he refused the refund. He ended up taking the pants back BUT only returned $40. So the man kept his item and made a $40 profit, but was still very rude about it even though he never gave a receipt. He also leaves the store often and leaves a "will be back by XYZ time" and is never there within a 20 min window of the time posted. Picture of this included was taken at 2:18 when he was supposed to return at 2:05. Please do not shop here as it is extremely overpriced with anti-customer policies.

Mostly overpriced stuff. Disorganized. Workers are so-so, depending on whether or not the owner's around.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The best place to shop for Alpha Industry jackets. I will definitely go back to that shop again.

I stumbled on this gem during my summer holiday. They have a tight lil setup, lots and lots of…read morestuff in there (i.e. jackets, bags, pins, hats, you name it) piled up all around which is ok if you're comfortable in closed quarters. There is literally a narrow line to weave thru in the event there are say more than 7 people, aside from the staff browsing throughout the shop. A lot of the good picks can be hard to buy depending on the season (i.e. there was a dope fishing boonie that was neat and the perfect size for me however it was floor model only and likely previously fitted by many individuals). This is my first time to a physical MIL surplus store as I typically shop online for them and had no knowledge before my visit that this particular one was in operation for well over 50 yrs, kudos. One thing though is that if you plan on returning or exchanging anything you should discuss all the details PRIOR to purchase. For myself, def learned this the hard way as there was some gear I bought, accessories and tees (pd in cash) but changed my mind on some of them after a couple of days. Then I checked online and their store policy is 5 days with original receipt. So I returned with my goods, namely a T-shirt and was told it is NON-REFUNDABLE due to it being "underwear" and the fact it "touches your body". I was thinking "ok..." and my face def showed it, as this was the first time in my life that I heard of a business that bent their return policy. Maybe it was because of the fact that I paid cash for my gear, not sure and the owner did not want to refund me, but I got past it. But as a heads up, if you do think you may have any sort of wrinkle with a return it prob is better to put it on your charge card so you can work it out with the issuer/card company for any disputes. Overall 2/5.

It's a wonderful store the people are great. There is a lot of Military paraphernalia in there…read more They have been there for over 60 years it is a family business.
