Overpriced and Not Worth It These pants are ridiculously overpriced for what they are. I saw them selling for $70 here, but found the exact same pair somewhere else for way cheaper. For the amount they're charging, but these don't deliver at all. If you like the style, do yourself a favor and shop around you'll find the same thing for a fraction of the cost elsewhere. Here I go again, wanting to support small business. I needed a pair of boots for work. Came here found a pair I liked, but needed a smaller size. The man took the shoes to the back put some insoles inside and brought them back out telling me it was a smaller size... as if I'm that dense. Whatever, they were comfortable and I needed them. So I brought them, it was Friday. He just stuck them in a bag.. no box $141. By Wednesday they are already falling apart. Money down the drain. I called, he checked for my size, I showed up and they had exactly what I needed. Simple as that. No fuss. The man in the store was very nice and helpful with my son. My son asked a lot of questions and he took the time to answer them, and brought out multiple things for him to try on. He's only 11 and doesn't fit into most adult clothes but he was able to find something for him. He was kind to him the whole time and attentive to his needs. I really appreciated that. I came here for a legit Schott pea coat. Bought it for a fair price (price was same as online and Schott store). I put it on the next morning and was swimming in it, it was way too big. I went back the next day and the exchange only took a minute more than it took me to try on different sizes. I wish I could give this place zero stars. There were plates of open and eaten food in the store, no place to try on the clothes you're about to buy, and then no refunds on the items. He has signs that say do not touch and ask for assistance picking items out, probably because many surplus items are filthy and he doesn't want you to see until the item is in your bag and you've already paid. We were charged $80 for a pair of pants that we couldn't try on, tried to bring them back and he refused the refund. He ended up taking the pants back BUT only returned $40. So the man kept his item and made a $40 profit, but was still very rude about it even though he never gave a receipt. He also leaves the store often and leaves a "will be back by XYZ time" and is never there within a 20 min window of the time posted. I work in the City, and sometimes I need to get new work shoes or a flashlight, Leatherman etc. Its a convienent place to go, but seriously overpriced. OK i got a Leatherman Surge, which I treated myself to because I got the new Engineering Job, it set me back 175 dollars for something that costs about 90 or so dollars. I also got a Pelican 2360 flashlight which set me back 70 dollars for a 30 dollar flashlight. The Isreali guy is friendly enough, but the prices are a bit high. He also will try to upsell everything. If you buy a flashlight, he will ask if you need extra batteries, extra cases, boots, work gloves etc... They have a tin of boots and shoes there, and every Carhartt and Dickies item imaginable. Every once in a while my Carhartts just wear out. They pop a seem. They snag a zip. They fall to bits. There are times where not even a patch will put them back into service. On those days, I head to Mash Army Navy. Beyond the dusty mountains of Alpha Industry jackets and cheap, Olive Drab cargos; Mash stocks Carhartts of every description. They've got loads of the washed duck variety, which look worn very quickly. If you do a little digging, you'll see that they carry the double-knee/rivited variety. These are perfect for winter bike rides and chilly construction days. They'll also take a solid three years of abuse. read more

I went there Tuesday, March 22nd 2016 to see if they had the Leatherman Skeletool CX. They had it in stock and when I asked how much, the man out the counter said $120. I was immediately caught off guard when I knew they only cost about $80 (sometimes less, sometimes more.) When I asked if he could knock the price down he called the manager and I first asked him how much he would charge for the tool. He said "that's $89.95" - I asked the man "where did your employee come up with $120 and if he'd settle for $80. He proceeded to tell me to order it online if I wanted it cheaper (which I did - thank you Amazon.com) I then left the store. I went back Wednesday, March 24 2016 for a pair of Palladium boots. I asked if I could try on a size 10 (which they acted like it was a big deal that I even asked to try on a pair.) They said "we're out of size 10 and the boot doesn't come in half sizes so here's a 9." I tried on the 9 just for the heck of it, but still too snug. I thanked the man for his help and as I was walking out I noticed a slightly larger Palladium boot, same model number, same color in a 9 and a half. Either they're customer service is far below par or they don't have knowledge about they're own stock/products. Yes, they have a large variety and that is the only reason they are getting 1 star (even though that's the lowest possible rating.) Do not go here if you're a tourist. Was looking for a high quality USA flag. Found a nice 5' x 8' nylon one in this store. "Beautifully handmade in the US". Quality of the product was good. However, they asked $78 for it, and I fell for it. Checked price online for the exact same flags when I got back to the hotel. Found out it was only $22, even on their own website! Went back to the store immediately, only to find out the manager who sold the flag to me had already left the store. What a coincidence. They told me only the manager could open the cash register, which, of course, is bullshit and they knew that damn well. Had to threaten to call the cops before they finally gave me back my money. Took them about 30 to 45 minutes for them to realize I wasn't going to leave the store until then. Not ever going there again, and if you're a tourist neither should you. read more

I was unsure about buying the booths and the guys threw in some socks that he said was good and the material does not come off when you take the socks off. That was a lie. The store was dirty. I came into Mash during a snow storm seeking boots and while it took me a moment to find the gentleman working that day, when he emerged from the back room, he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the boots at which I was looking. He suggested the right size based on looking at my feet (2 sizes smaller than my usual size so I found that impressive), was helpful and pleasant as I was trying them on and made sure that they were laced properly and free from tags before I left the store wearing them. The sale price on these boots was great and there seemed to be a great selection with good prices across the board. Obviously, the location is convenient if you're already in the neighborhood and not that convenient if you're not but if you're near Tines Square, this is the spot for boots, bags and multi tools. read more

Infinitely more organized and navigable than nearby Kaufman's, but not nearly as style and brand conscious as Dave's, it's a functional, no-fuss store that offers pretty much exactly what you'd expect: Carharrt clothing in giant sizes, sturdy, mostly unfashionable boots by the dozens, military bomber and M-65 reissue jackets, long-johns, insignia patches, wool socks, and the like. read more

I found the person who helped me (owner? manager?) very helpful and courteous. Unlike Dave's they had a good selection of Alpha N2B jackets - and N3Bs - and a lot of other Alpha jackets in a lot of sizes. The store is in a small space, but it is organized extremely well and so they can fit a lot of things in it. When I have more time I might stop by again just to get an idea of the extent of their inventory, as authentic military surplus stuff is usually high quality compared to much civilian gear.
