a hot dog, salad, and french fries

Wow! I have never had poutine before but it's on my Montreal checklist. It's amazing! We ordered through Uber eats and the service was very fast. Hot, fresh and delicious! I also had a hotdog; it comes with slaw, mustard and relish on a buttered grill bun. Yum. Also ordered a Greek salad which I will have for dinner. Because I'm so full I can't eat it now. This place is a real value and worth a trip!

To be honest, I don't know why I expected more when I came here. It's pretty much exactly what you think it is, fries and gravy, but somehow I felt like there would be something more? It was delicious gravy goodness, don't get me wrong, but it felt almost lackluster. Some of the fries were also a bit burnt. I really don't think this place is worth going to with so many competitors killing it out there. Their price point is a bit steep for what it is. Even McDonald's poutine is a strong contender. Poutineville's fries also feel really limp in comparison.

Came here recently on my last trip to Montreal with the boys. This spot is amazing! It has something for everyone! We ordered the hangover which is the works...sausage, bacon, beef, fried eggs, curds, potatos on and on and on LOL. I think it literally has everything in and on it! The beers were fresh and a really amazing compliment to the food. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating! 2 regular sized orders were enough to feed 4 hungry guys. It was so good....we came back the next day! Nuff said..

Prior to visiting Montreal Canada, I never had poutine outside of the US. I didn't even know that Montreal considers poutine their state dish, the place where it was first created. All I knew is that I liked it! My favorite poutine came from a food truck serving at the first Kaboo Music Festival in North County San Diego and I was forever hooked on the idea of it being done right like this vendor! When I first saw Poutineville, all I could think of was Justin Timberlake asking people on SNL to "bring it on down" to Poutineville. A favorite sketch comedy when he hosts. I ordered the Mexican style poutine with tomatoes, corn, beans, guacamole, and sour cream over the fries and gravy, the core of any poutine. Here you have a choice of potatoes or fries. If you get the chance, take it on down to Poutineville in Montreal...great French and English speaking service. I just love this city! #Montreal #Poutine #FrenchsndEnglish #Poutineville #JustinTimberlake

One of the best poutines I've had recently. Yes, it's a chain, but honestly they do it really well! They aren't open for dine in, but takeout is running, and they are open til the wee hours of the morning. The menu looks huge with tons of poutine options and lots of customisation possibilities (build your own poutine!), and prices look very reasonable. For 4 people as a late night snack, we ordered the large regular with normal fries (i think smashed potatoes was another option, and perhaps some others also). The counter lady was very friendly, and gave me a paper towel when she heard me commenting on the absurd amount of hand sanitizer the bottle had dumped on my hands, haha. We noticed that she had accidentally rung us in for a regular size, and pointed thjs out, and she ended up giving us a large anyway without any extra charge! The cheese curds were great, probably the squeakiest ones I've ever had on a poutine. Gravy wasn't too salty and fries were hot and tasted fresh. I really enjoyed it! The large was massive and we demolished it in no time.

@jasonsalwayshungry This hipster poutine medley was absolutely delicious, crushed potatoes, fresh cheese curds, mozzarella, braised beef and a red wine sauce was unique and stacked for a solid 9.5 @poutineville.qc #montreal #quebec #canada #poutine #alwayshungry #foodie #foodcritic #vanlife

This PoutineVille location replaces what used to be Bofinger. It opened this Tuesday Oct 25th to the public. My boyfriend and I raved about the work they did to turn it around. We always loved the make your own poutine concept from the PoutineVille chains. This location is especially well decorated. The ambiance is cozy and the restaurant is really inviting. The overhead lights are very nice and all the TV's are angled in a way that isn't distracting unlike other locations. If you were there to watch a sports game you would have a good time as well. They have a really good menu selection; it's not just poutine. I feel like it would be great for a party because they have lots of different options for different tastes. They revamped how the bar section is set-up with a strong focus on taps and a full bar. We had a chance to talk to two of the co-owners who are seasoned restaurateurs. They were approachable and talked about this new location with passion and vision. We made a poutine with nacho cheese and ground beef. It arrived fast and it was delicious. I loved how even though it came in a plate/bowl thing the sauce reached the bottom. Many times, poutines have sauce only on the top and so when that's done, you only have fries left. The service was great, especially for the first night. The staff was super nice. I would really recommend trying it out even if you've already visited another PoutineVille.

For months we been trying to check out Poutineville. We were nicely greeted and we were given a large table. Alex our server explained the menu. Which was well appreciated. Since the key to Poutineville is build your own poutine with starting with the fries type , toppings and gravy. We started off with an order of fried pickles and Cheese Quesadillas which were 4,5 star each. We each ordered a different type of poutine with manny extras toppings , The 2 key components to a great poutine is the fries and the gravy. The difference between a good poutine and a great poutine is the way the fries are prepared and served , Poutineville offers 4 types of potatoes fries. Sweet potatoes , regular cut , shoe string , and crushed . The crushed fries were amazing crispy and soft in the middles . That is the way to go! The only negative is we all found the regular poutine gravy a little thick and dark in colour. But was only worth 3 star .Poutineville offers others gravies to try . Over all It was a great experience and the idea of building your poutine is a fun experience. There was one item on the menu which caught our attention only if we were a large group of at least 6 people who were gong to eat poutine and that was the Heart attack poutine . They say it weighs 15 lbs but in reality it's is only 5 lbs of fries . And about 10 lbs of toppings . Poutineville is good experience from the original poutine because of the varieties /combination of poutines toppings they offer . Also needs to be mentioned that they do offer salads and sandwiches for those who do not eat poutine. The ones in our group who ordered sandwiches said they were good the said it was 3,5 Stars I feel that Poutineville only gets 4 stars since the gravy was not good as the original ones we grew up on and Alex our server 5 star was excellent . We will be back when we have friends from out of town who want to try poutine.

Poutineville! We used to have one in Toronto but not sure what happened to it :(. Anyways, I agree that their Montreal branches are even better in taste. I ordered the smoked meat poutine with all four cheeses and it was heavenly. Always get the house crushed potatos, they are the absolute best creation ever. Also tried their braised beef before and it was also too good. Chewy curds, drizzled with layers of gravy (I like my poutines heavy on the gravy), and no complaints on the smoked meat. I dont think I can ever try their normal fries after having their crushed potatos. Staff was courteous and even pointed us to our next stop.

My family went on a Monday for lunch and it was pretty quiet. We are not experts on poutine, but we had to try it during our trip in Montreal, and we loved it ! Thankfully we aren't from the area because we definitely don't need the calories. The portions are very generous - I think if you're not too hungry, 2 people could even share the regular. My brother finished one on his own but I needed some help near the end :) The server was very kind and answered all of our touristy questions. He spoke English and French. They have outdoor seating with shade which was perfect on a summer day. From the Menu: They have a make-your-own option for Poutine toppings, but my family isn't expert at Poutine so we decided to go with the ready menu items. My parents shared a large Zeus Poutine. This was my favorite - the gyro in the poutine was so yummy. Even between the two of them this was a LOT of food! The portions are large so come hungry or beware :) this comes over hand crushed potatoes which are delicious - I would say they're somewhere between French Fries and Home Fries. I had the Farmers Poutine, which I enjoyed because it didn't have too many ingredients compared to other options, and I didn't have too much of an appetite. My brother had the Hangover Poutine, which was a sensory overload (in a good way) and was very tasty. It was pretty spicy because of the hot sauce, so don't order this if you can't handle spicy.

Honestly, I'll recommend this place to my buddies from others provinces. It's not like La Banquise, which probably is more popular and has more tourists; Poutineville made me feel really cozy and comfortable. The ambiance is a bit like a pub but not too noisy, and they have nice music. They also have a big Tv for hockey fans lol We came here a month ago and enjoyed our meal which included two dishes of Poutine, we did not make the dishes by ourselves, just chose those ones recommended in the menu. The service was great and I really love the food here. (We prefer the sauce at Poutineville than La banquise's).

Delicious meal! Ordered their smallest plate but it still filled us up! The beer was also tasty (cheval blanc)

First time visiting Canada and definitely had to try poutine! My boyfriend and I enjoyed the idea of making our own personalized plates and each got our own. I didn't realize how big their smallest portion was and I ended up eating half my plate. Maybe they should offer a snack option for those not extremely hungry but want to nibble on something? But overall, a great experience and atmosphere here. Waitresses are kind and offered suggestions on local beers which were delightful. Next I'm here though, I'll split a plate with someone.

From the unique table designs to the imagery on the walls, reminded me of Friendly's back home. I ordered a french onion soup which was probably not the best move as we were trying to have a quick lunch, oops. I shared it and we used the excess broth for dunking our sandwich's in. Very tasty soup. Came out hot but cooled quick. Club sandwich was enjoyable. Would have been better probably on the bagel as the sandwich bread didn't quite hold well together with all the fixings in it. Overall a place I would recommend. We walked around a lot in this area and noticed that Dunn's looked old school and had smoked meat so we gave it a try. The wood and leather booths gave this 99 year old establishment an old school vibe. We were seated pretty quickly in a small booth. Hockey was on TV so that's a good sign. I was not super hungry so I ordered the smoked meat on a bagel, Andrew got the sandwich. The food came out fast but not overly fast. My bagel sandwich was tasty. I liked the thin cut of meat. The fries were as soft as mashed potatoes. They were warm but not close to crispy. Andrew liked his sandwich as well. The bathroom was quite the experience, it was at the bottom of a long, steep staircase in the basement. It worked, lighting was ok, but it was a climb out of there! Come here for a simple quick bite and stick to the sandwich. It's good!
