Indian groceries close to downtown Baltimore! They have everything needed to make Indian food at home but prices are a little higher than other Patel Bros that I've been too. I guess there's no competition around so they can do what they want. Produce was a little questionable, saw some fruit flies around the tomatoes. I guess the packaged goods are the way to go here. Watch the expiration dates!

Came to Patel Brothers, located on Rt. 40 West in the shopping center next to Old Country Buffet, in search of Indian food staples to try my hand at fixing the dishes that I enjoy. This grocery store caters to Indian grocery items. It's a nice size store that is well stocked . The associates were friendly and helpful in assisting me with some of the items I was looking for. Produce were fresh and they had one of the largest assortment of dried beans/lentils I have ever seen! The pricing was decent as well. They also had an extensive frozen food section as well. I look forward to many more visits to Patel Brothers!

They Sell Expired products. Today is Feb 21, this yogurt has been on their shelf 15 days after sell by date.

Content removed This content may violate our usage policies…read more It sounds like you want to turn this into something you can post publicly or send as a formal complaint. I can help you make it clearer, more focused, and more effective so it's taken seriously. Here's a revised version that keeps your core message but presents it in a more structured and credible way: I had a deeply uncomfortable experience at H Mart last night while shopping with my family. We came in simply to purchase a popular fruit-shaped ice cream, but almost immediately we felt unwelcome due to repeated staring. What escalated the situation was the behavior of a middle-aged employee wearing a burgundy shirt, who appeared to follow us around the store. This made us feel singled out and unsafe. When I confronted the situation by turning my cart around and moving toward him, he abruptly walked away and avoided further interaction. As a person of color, this experience felt discriminatory and unacceptable. No customer should feel monitored or profiled while simply shopping with their family. Because of this incident, we will not be returning. I also intend to report this experience so it can be properly addressed. I hope management takes this seriously, reviews staff behavior, and ensures that all customers are treated with respect and dignity. If you want, I can also: Tailor this for Google Reviews, Yelp, or a corporate complaint form Make it stronger/more formal (for escalation) Or include specific details like location, time, or receipts to support your claim Let me know how you plan to use it. Tailor for Google reviews. Include Catonsville location Here's a version tailored specifically for a Google Review, with the H Mart Catonsville location included and a tone that's firm but more likely to be taken seriously by both customers and management: I had a very uncomfortable experience at H Mart in Catonsville last night while shopping with my family. We came in to pick up the popular fruit-shaped ice cream, but almost immediately we noticed people staring at us. What made the situation worse was a middle-aged employee wearing a burgundy shirt who appeared to follow us around the store. His behavior made us feel singled out and unwelcome. At one point, I turned my cart around and began moving toward him to address the situation, and he quickly walked away and avoided any interaction. That response only reinforced how uncomfortable and targeted we felt. As a person of color, this experience came across as discriminatory. No one should feel like they are being watched or profiled just for shopping with their family. Because of this, we will not be returning to this location. I hope management takes this seriously, reviews staff behavior, and ensures that all customers are treated with respect. If you want it to hit even harder (or sound more neutral/"corporate"), I can adjust the tone depending on whether your goal is impact, escalation, or just warning other customers. Hit harder. Warning other customers If your goal is to warn other customers and make the impact unmistakable, you can lean more direct and forceful--but it still helps to stay specific and grounded so people take it seriously rather than dismissing it as just anger. Here's a stronger Google Review version: I am a person of color, and my family and I had a disturbing experience at H Mart Catonsville. We came in just to buy the viral fruit-shaped ice cream, but almost immediately we were met with constant staring that made it clear we were not being treated like other customers. The situation escalated when a middle-aged employee in a burgundy shirt began following us around the store. Not assisting--watching us. It was obvious and uncomfortable. When I turned my cart around and approached him, he quickly walked away and hid in the men's restroom instead of addressing the situation. That alone tells you everything. We were made to feel singled out and unwelcome the entire time. As a family simply trying to shop, that is unacceptable. Be aware: if you are a person of color, you may not be treated with the same respect as others at this location. We will not be returning. Management seriously needs to address how customers are being treated in this store.

I'm so torn between 3 and 4 stars... it's really a 3.5 star experience if I'm being honest. But, I…read morecan round up in this case, and the pros do outweigh the cons in any event. First, the CONS: * It's cramped! Most of the aisles are very narrow, but even the open spaces (produce, seafood) are fairly small. May the odds be ever in your favor if you have to push a shopping cart around here. * Speaking of the seafood section, it is strongly aromatic. They say you shouldn't be able to smell good seafood. Well, I've never heard of anyone getting bad seafood here, but you wouldn't know from the odor. It's strong and not pleasant. * Some items are SUPER expensive. I think a lot of this boils down to import pricing, to be fair. Now, the PROS: * Many other items are super INEXPENSIVE! Sometimes, you can find produce and other pantry items for WAY less than you would at a local supermarket. * They have a lot of items you just can't find anywhere else. Even if you can find them online, you're paying a lot in shipping or finders' fees. * Their staff is fairly helpful and usually friendly. My main experience is usually with the cashiers, but even they tend to be really engaging and pleasant to chat with. * They have a very big selection for being a specialty market! For primarily carrying Korean products, they have a wide variety to choose from. You aren't at their whim for whatever they want to sell to you. I guess if you're okay with a slightly claustrophobic environment and a localized fishy smell, it's all shiny here. Overall, it's a great change of pace from standard grocery shopping, and I love cooking with the unique ingredients I can find here.

I had already committed myself and I couldn't back out into oncoming traffic, so I pulled over as tight as I could to the right and just sat. The stupid witch coming the wrong way kept coming with her big SUV or whatever and hit me as she passed. Knocked my mirror all the way in and then rolled down her window to yell at me because I didn't back up to let her go by--mind you, back up INTO ONCOMING traffic. Last month I changed my pick up day to a day or two later, and I know the flowers were left out from the fridge to wilt and dry, instead of caring to preserve or get me fresh ones. They were dry and falling apart by the time I started preparing them when I got home 30 mins after. This month I picked them up on time but when I got them home some stems were broken, other buds were missing completely as if they were plucked off the stem. So I didn't even get a full dozen. Insane. I called the store to let them know. The guy in charge of that section seemed pretty nonchalant. Offered a refund or replacement, and then he didn't. The attitude of laziness seems to be franchise wide, bc it's not just this store. Very unfortunate bc I went out of my way just to come to this location. Country Corner Store is a gem of a find!…read more Owned by Mr. Jay, a pillar of the Oella community, one can find pretty much anything and everything in this one-stop-shop type of a place. Just note, this is a legit country store, offering random canned items, dried goods, toys, collectibles, drinks, snacks, and even hot food. We saw a patron come in, looking for charcoal, and there was a bag hiding behind the front door! We stopped by, as we had heard about Mr. Jay's famous burgers - we ordered one to share, open to any toppings he recommended - ours came with fresh Romaine lettuce, sliced onions, a hot pepper spread, sliced fresh jalapenos, cheese, and mayo, all nestled in a locally baked bread. This was a simple, but a tasty burger! The freshly-ground beef is picked up every morning, from the slaughterhouse that is across the street; I don't really want to think about that all too much, but just know that what you're getting is some fresh proteins! Mr. Jay also grows his own peppers and such, so you'll taste the freshness! There are a few comfortable chairs around the store, so you can definitely just sit and enjoy your food, or take it to go - we opted to dine-in, and we almost fell asleep since we were that cozy and relaxed! HA! Mr. Jay is also known as the Mayor of Oella, so be sure to sit and listen to his stories - he's so kind, personable, and has a lot of history to share! I saw a published photo book of his, which I found super cool; we also received the town's community calendar and a sampling of a neighbor's homemade brownie! Be sure to stop by to grab a meal - we had heard that he makes amazing omelets, so we'd love to try that next time!
