It's clear they are committed to supporting their members across all services. That said, the recent remodel has created some challenges. The new layout makes it more difficult to have private or sensitive conversations, which can be uncomfortable when discussing personal financial matters. I have had my Patelco credit card for two years. I have never missed a payment or been late. When my check is deposited into my account, I pay my credit card bill on or very near to that day. As I am only paid once per month, my payments are typically sent in at the end of the month. However, for the last two months, I have been fighting to have my June payment credited to my account. I have called multiple times and even went into the local branch. At the branch, the manager in Elk Grove told me she would send a notice to the department that handles these issues to have my account brought up to date. That was a month ago. No emails from her, just notices that my account is past due. I have shown them again and again how my payments are made at the end of the month for the next month. I have done this for two years. Now they are saying I pay my bill too early and it is taken as an extra payment not my monthly payment. Fine. I pay too promptly. I worked in a bank for several years. If anything like this happened, we would have thanked the customer for their prompt payments, credited the payment, and let them know to pay after a certain date to avoid the issue in the future. What I have been shown by Patelco is that explaining the situation is more important than fixing the situation. Their approach to someone who pays on time has been completely punitive. What makes this more confounding is that two months ago, they were expressing their appreciation and telling us how much their customers meant to them. The poor response to the cyberattack was bad, but the sheer lack of consistency of this institution is astounding. read more

Don't go to Tough Tony. He acted like he didn't want to help me. I had to nicely ask him different ways for a verification of funds that banks typically offer, and he kept telling me that an official verification of funds is usually done for investors wanting stock certificates. I had to check on ChatGPT on my phone to tell him what services he offered that I needed, a "verification of deposit" letter. I don't know why he did not suggest that to me. I was calm and nicely asked for the letter that I discovered he could provide. He printed the letter I needed, but it had a graphic that obscured an important date. I asked him nicely if he could reprint the letter. He seemed impatient and frustrated about that, even though no one was in line behind me and he admitted to having no appointments at the moment. He came back with the letter and scribbled his signature so hard it put a hole in the paper. I told him, "Thank you, Tony" to which he responded it was all right, "Miss." It was the first time I had been called just "Miss" in a professional setting in the past 20 years. read more

This has to be the worse bank ever. It took 3 months to get some answers for a vehicle loan. They are non responsive over multiple phone calls/emails and just left me hanging without no resolution. After many non responses I had to physically go into the bank and ask what's going on with the loan. It took another week until someone called me saying am I still interested in the loan. A year later and costumer service is still in need of improvement.. as I walked towards the teller Elena, I told her I have few transactions she said "okay!" Mind you I did warned her about having multiple transactions!! First transaction was a deposit of 2K worth of $5 bills neatly organized because I didn't want to take a lot of time knowing that the tellers might be overwhelmed. Elena proceeded to count it and she didn't know her machine only accepts certain amount until sherie helped her, Elena then started huffing and puffing whispering "Jesus" multiple times, at this time it is safe to say she's very annoyed. I just don't understand why she's annoyed with me I didn't break her machine. Second transaction I have my money separated because they're going on different accounts Elena then grabbed the money and stacked them together I said "why did you do that? They're going on different accounts?" She then responded "I know! I have to count them." She counted the money and asked "how much would you like to go to your checking?" I said "I don't know now since you stacked them together, they were separated for a reason and it's not going to my checking" she then insisted she had to put them together to be counted.. I told her it was NOT supposed to be together because now I don't know how much money was supposed to go to different accounts. She wasn't making this transactions easy for either one of us and her giving me an attitude is not helping the situation at all. So I just gave her a number and said "Thank you!" So this horrible assistance would end. After my experience with this branch last year I tried my best not to go inside but there are few transactions that I can't use the ATM or the APP for. I am giving them 3 stars this time because on my previous visit Sheriee was wonderful!! She explained and help me set up an IRA account, other than that I know not to go to this branch. What...in...the...world??? I've never been to a business like this where they're so completely lacking in customer service. My mom told me that she wanted to open an account with Patelco because her friends had told her about their high interest rates (3% APY). Since we happened to be in the Elk Grove area at the time, we figured we'd stop by this location branch and set up some accounts, which shouldn't take too long, right? We got there at 12:45pm on a Tuesday. I know the exact time because I wrote it down on the sign-in sheet next to the front door. There were two employees helping other customers to my right and a couple tellers at the booths. No one greeted us when we entered. We sat down and waited for about five minutes. Since the teller at the booth wasn't helping any customers, I figured I'd save time and ask her if she processed new accounts, or if we had to wait for one of the other employees. She smiled and said that she did not process new accounts and that I was correct in waiting for one of the other employees to help me. So no problem, we had a comfortable seating area and I figured it wouldn't be too long before someone came and helped us. After all, companies want new members and new business, right? I realized that since we came in at 12:45, there might be some employees on lunch, so I would be patient and wait until other employees might be coming back from their lunch breaks. I also figured that the employees would see us just sitting there (forever), and be anxious to help us quickly. Nope. As we sat there (forever), Mom decided to see if she could get some hot water from their Keurig-type machine. What came out of the hot water dispenser was cloudy water with little pieces of coffee grounds. It was clear that the Keurig was not cleaned very often. Ugh. Okay so at this point, we had waited a total of THIRTY minutes and not a single employee had come and helped us. One employee looked like she was just chatting with another customer. The other employee had been helping another customer, but 15-20 minutes later, she was done. Yet she just ended up walking back and forth the credit union. At no time did she think, oh let me check if there's anyone waiting for assistance. 1:15pm. At this point, I was pretty peeved that we had wasted so much time, and I left in a huff, vowing to contact Patelco customer service to inform them of such a lack of customer service and professional training. Seriously, who makes new customers wait 30 minutes without being greeted, without telling them, "We'll be right with you," without anything? It's unbelievable. This location gives the Patelco brand such a bad reputation. Fortunately, we ended up visiting the Roseville location the next day and the customer service there was OUTSTANDING. The employee there seemed to hint at the fact that there is a lot of turnover (new employees coming and going) at the Elk Grove location, so maybe they just don't have proper training yet. But if you have a choice, avoid the Elk Grove location and go to the Roseville location. I don't plan to ever visit this location again. read more

We just finished opening our second and third account here and couldn't be more pleased with the service. We had Candance Clark Borrero not sure if that is correct spelling help us and she was great. Let us know about which accounts would yield us a better rate for what we were going to use our funds for. Explained the insured amounts of our accounts printed our new debit cards right away and asked if we wanted checks. Told us we could call if we needed any of the other things we talked about and was just so pleasant to deal with. We have Schools first CU and I can't stand their branch manager she is so rude and condescending and very very in professional as she told me I could take a very large check somewhere else if I wasn't happy. Patelco has been my bank for over 20 years! The tellers are customer focused and knowledgeable. This branch is always clean and I almost never have to wait in long lines. My husband, daughters, and sisters all have accounts with Patelco. We have purchased a couple of cars through Patelco. They have great rates (based on credit score) and the approval and payment processes are easy and convenient. The online website is one of the best. It's easy to navigate, and full of features that allow you to take care of business without having to make a trip to the bank which is great because this leads to my to my only issue: I wish there were more branches. There are sister banks that members can use but they are not full service and I really don't like using other banks (thus the 4 st Lastly, PCU protects its customers. My debit card was compromised. Someone tried to withdraw $500 from my account. This was an unusual transaction for me so Patelco Securing Division texted then called me( it was around 9pm) to verify the transaction. I said no so they immediately cancelled the card. I am without a debit card right now but that's a small price to pay for peace of mind!! UPDATE: Went into the branch and secured another debit card and pin! Easy Peazy Patelco! This is in response to the associate there named Sheena. I went in for a used auto loan pre approval. This car was out of state and she was aware of it and ran my credit and got me my pre approval. I followed up with her in 2 days and ensure to mention the car was out of state. She then responds that Patelco does NOT do out of state purchases. At that point i was so upset. Its as if she pulled me in JUST to run my credit and not fully have the knowledge to inform me. Afterwards i moved on and went to Wells Fargo and they actually told me to go with Patelco's rates offered to me because they couldnt beat it. They were honest. I told Wells Fargo my situation and they said "what? thats odd. people make out of state purchases all the time. Even us, Wells Fargo would allow it. Thats odd, go call their main number and find out for sure". At that point i did call, and Patelco DOES in fact do out of state car purchases. What bad service and untrained associates they have at THIS Patelco. I cant believe even the actual representatives at a branch dont even know their own policies. Go to the Arden one. I have never had a bad experience at this branch, and just found out that they partner with other credit unions and I can do basic transactions at those branches if there isn't a Patelco nearby! Super convenient. Marlon D. is great to deal with for any certificates. Recently they were able to print a new debit card for me on the spot so I wouldn't have to wait for one in the mail (only difference: embossed). Website is okay, and they have a free phone app too. I tend to visit this branch more so during their Saturday hours so can't vouch for their weekday service/staff. Their savings rates are much better than what else is out there right now (Chase, Safe, Golden 1). Just saying. read more

Chase rejected the payment and electronic transfer the fund back to my account and it takes 6 days for patelco to post the fund back in my account. Transfer usually only take two day. What they call third party. Fuck that. Do not go to patelco for banking. It sucks. On thanksgiving day i have negative in my account because they didn't post the fund until 6 days. read more

Been a customer of Patelco since 1997 as i was new to Bay Area and they were in my office building.. Have had 2 mortgages and 4 car loans through them as well as checking and savings accounts. And use their investment services too. I now live about 25 miles from nearest branch and still the relationship works just fine. I usually do all my transactions on line with the app including Bill Pay. If i need to ask a question, my email to them is answered very quickly (24 ,hrs max) or help is a phone call away. And wherever i travel there is always a credit union ATM to use fee-free. And if i to go to branch, the staff is helpful and profesional. I ususlly use the Fairfield or Novato branches. I brag about the idea of a credit union to my banking friends because of higher interest rates oId paid out lower loan interest and highly recommend Patelco. Just remember, they are a credit union and not a bank so by law there are some things they can't do. read more

Most recent experience: tried to order a single little $25 roll of dollar coins (gifts for daughters)... this request proved too much for their customer service capacity. Originally went to branch only to find they had none... Mgr Shaffer smiled & promised me a roll if I came back in a week... then didn't bother to let me know they hadn't ordered any (she said, "there was a problem when we tried to order" and wouldn't clarify what that meant)... When I returned and confronted them about their failure, she & Mgr Borrero proceeded to patronize me & threw some other Mgr (Sheryl? ...who wasn't there to defend herself) under the bus. Sadly, this is a typical experience - Patelco is nothing but a disappointment. Their hours are ridiculously limited, no 24 hour phone help, mobile app is clunky & crashes... and they can't even get a couple dollar coins. I was able to get a really good deal on my interest rate for my refinance. I've been banking with them for a few years now and they've never let me down. I'm not a member here but my boyfriend is. I've come here a few times to deposit his checks (until I convinced him to use his mobile banking option) and the staff have always been nice and friendly. I also appreciate that they don't ask me where I bank or why I don't have an account when I go in. Most banks are all about the sales, so it's pleasant to not have to walk in and expect to be bombarded with questions. The only thing I've come to dislike is the initial entry door and how they have to buzz you in. I got to look like an idiot the first time trying to open the door and being utterly confused as to why it was locked during branch hours. Makes it for an awkward visit. read more

I applied online for home equity line of credit. My house is worth between$ 344k-377k according to different online sources. There is no possible way that the comps in my area are appraising my home at $260k. I always watch the value of my home and the surrounding sold homes. there is no way this "algorithm" is correct. this is a flat out lie from the representative who did not want me to have a high equity line of credit (since I owe not too much). if i had an appraisal done it would on no doubt be over 350k she just tried to discourage my application and believe she discriminated against me. i really believe she knew i could be approved for a high credit line and just didnt want to encourage me to go forward. she told me that there was no equity to cover the first and second mortgage. I called to speak with her the same day about which homes is she comparing mine to and she was on "break" . the loan officer then counter offered a lower amount. so it went from 0$ of credit available to 38k $ available. Marsha clearly lied and the loan officer backed her up and tried to sweeten the 38k. offer . makes me wonder if she left the Roseville office bc she did some scandalous stuff like this before read more
