I went in there yesterday about 4 fraudulent charges to our checking account, as someone skimmed the card. The guy at the front desk was not terribly helpful when I explained the problem cocks his head and gave me a "really lady?" look. Then I asked for the manager who finally came over. I explained the problem again, and she and the guy started snickering. When I asked if they thought it was "funny", she quickly backtracked and said no, that it was something the guy said. Then she said I'd get a "provisional credit" if it went through. (We got denied today, I got the email saying why). I left, rather disappointed with the lack of service. I've been a member since 1988. Do better!! read more

This is my fav location to come to. They never have a long wait time. The staff is nice. The bank tellers Jane, Ashlyn, are always smiling and happy to help. new girl molly needs to take some tips from those two they are outstanding. and stop dressing like your on the way the nightclub, mini dresses and clear hells not a good look for a bank. Molly has no customer service her body language is like she doesn't want to be there. Supervisor Alyssa is not nice at all. She's a total Karen. Talks to you in a condescending tone. I like this location because the staff is super nice and they get things done fast. I came in no appointment for a new debit card. At the front was greeted by Jasmine M. who was super nice and had an answer for all my questions. Unfortunately when making my new card the machine got stuck, but Jasmine got it fixed quick and got me going. I came in forty minutes before closing and she got me out in about fifteen. She even helped me with questions on my accounts. Thank you Jasmine at the Hazel SAFE Credit Union in Fair Oaks. You were wonderful and very helpful. Been banking with SAFE for years and haven't had any issues until I wanted apply for a credit card to consolidate debt...which wasn't a lot compared to most people. They could only approve me for 1,000 which is NOTHING for a credit card. Then, in mid February they allowed my bank account to be drained by fraudsters in Texas and didn't do anything until a transaction happened in Canada. I fought the transactions and was able to get my money back but holy damn their fraud system needs a rework. The only really good thing with SAFE is I refinanced my car with them and got a good rate. read more

Very disappointed with service provided by manager of this branch. He told my wife and I to go to Chase bank for international money transfer. Stated Safe was a small local credit union and was not "comfortable" with helping us with our international money transfer. He also stated that if we brought in an invoice from the company, we were transferring money to, so as to pay for an order, Safe still might not approve the transfer! We have been with Safe for over 30 years but have now come to find out all branches are not alike. Obviously, this branch is not like others where their members come first. My mother-in-law went to Safe Credit Union and pulled some cash out she accidentally left the money behind in an envelope when she left. I just had an amazing experience at this location. John S., was professional, kind, and understanding. He went the extra mile today. Over a year ago I had Safe do a Cashiers check for our HOA. Our HOA just sent out the statements for this year and said that we didn't pay and I didn't have the check stub...., so John was kind enough to look back through all the cashed cashiers check around that time and found mine! He was a total life saver. I am sad to see him leave my local branch, but he is moving on to a bigger manager role at the Natoma branch. And it is well deserved! Woo hoo! First to review! This SAFE has a curvy drive through which looks like fun but I haven't tried it yet. This used to be a Burger King I think? They also have yet another ATM in this shopping complex which also houses Jamba Juice, TJMaxx and Raley's. Service-wise, I find that sometimes it is not as fast as the location down the road at San Juan and Madison, but the service is great once you get it. For instance, I wasn't sure if you can deposit a check here for another credit union. In this case it was Sacramento Credit Union (they're not part of some special network, so "no"). I asked a guy sitting at a desk, he got up, made some inquiries and saved me waiting in line. They have a carafe of coffee if you get tired of waiting in line too. read more

My roommate and I have been banking at the Hazel Branch in Fair Oaks for 8 years and it's been a totally wonderful experience. We visit the branch, probably 1-2 times every week. Great Manager's and Employee's. NEVER had a problem and their current cd rates are tip-top. I would recommend this branch without reservation. read more

WORST bank ever. No real issues until they "upgraded" their system. I never got my "packet" concerning their upgrade, so I message them. They send me the "packet", a one page letter. It's an address I had over 23 years ago. So their solution to sending my information to some stranger, is on the day the system is supposed to be up and running, I have to go in and they change my account number. What the idiot customer service person didn't tell me until I asked after I signed a pad multiple times is that she's creating me a whole new account. I ask if this would affect my existing bill pay, she said yes. I told her to STOP the process. She said she couldn't, she already closed my account. So all my payments set to go out were sent, returned and I got charged for it all. What a f@#ked up bank. I got all straightened out with the intention to change banks, but not rushing since all was going well. I got two phone calls from the b%_ch who set up my account to come in and sign something I missed, with absolutely no explanation of WHAT was missed. The last on 6/29/22 saying she'd have to restrict my account if I don't come in. Why would I go see someone who had screwed up everything in the first place? So on 7/15, I use my debit card twice and got declined and plenty of money in the account. I go in Saturday to my branch on Folsom in Rancho and try to take out all my money except $10. They say my account is frozen and no clue why. I told him about the phone call, he tried to call her, she's off. So he just has me sign some forms and let me get my money. The night before, I created another account with another bank, tried to do a transfer, didn't process. So 7/15, I took the money I pulled and deposited at new bank. And I forgot to mention my trigger for changing banks, my house payment and a credit acct were paid on the 15th, then returned, found out next day due to frozen acct, so final straw. And it continues with more, but hopefully I've given you enough info not to use this bank. It's horrible! And they don't offer any resolution. read more

Ok, I hate giving this safe credit Union anything but 5 stars. I have been a member of SAFE Credit Union since 1972, most of my dealings resolving any issues has been over the top great service, really felt no matter who I dealt with they cared about me and my money! I have been dealing with a credit card issue for awhile with a winery charging me after I quit their wine club. I believed it was a lot of miss communication happening but was working through it. I was getting frustrated trying to do anything on line and wanted a real person in front of me hearing what I was concerned with, going over all my documents with them, hopefully to remove any misunderstandings and get some answers directly from a safe representative. I got a in person appointment with Jasmine RELATIONSHIP OFFICER was her title. Wow, figured I hit the jackpot on finding the right person to help me. From the start of our meeting her attitude was like "why are you here wasting my time!" most of the time when I asked a question she said either I don't know, or not our issue, I needed to go fine answers with others not her. Other than telling me to deal with the winery or she couldn't tell me who to go ask, she was sure it wasn't her's or SAFE's issue to deal with. Wow, that makes you feel good about who's taking care of your money and credit, not so much! My wife suggested we weren't getting anywhere here and needed to leave. I agreed. Before leaving a pleasant gentleman came over, said he had over heard some of our meeting and concerns. He gave us a possible reason for part of what happened to us. Thank you John, his title was branch manager. We left, and we're heading to Golden One Credit Union to open up a new account and look for respect and customer appreciation some where else other than SAFE. While sitting in my car, waiting for my wife we did get another call from SAFE, from another manager of a different department. One that I had been asking for for a week or more. She actually took the time to hear me out, understand 100% of my issue, even had answers to all my questions. Gave me faith maybe there's hope and SAFE wasn't as bad as I was being lead to believe. She's not at this branch so I'm not listing her name. She knows how much I appreciated her time and care for me and my wife. I have had an account with Safe since I was 3 years old. I wouldn't switch banks if you paid me. They always give great service and they don't nickel and dime you to death like the big banks. I had to go in today to get copies of checks for refinancing a loan. Not just a couple of checks, about 60 checks. Missy Smith was working the front desk and helped me. She was super friendly and never made me feel like I was putting her out for needing so many copies. I was truly amazed at her willingness to help me. Great customer service is a rare find most days. I've used B of A, Wells Fargo, Schools Credit Union and Safe Credit Union in my lifetime, for all of my personal & business banking needs. Safe and Schools blow the others out of the water, hands down! This location is always ultra friendly, ultra helpful, and if there are any problems they really try and work with you on the issue, as opposed to the experiences that I have had with B of A or Wells Fargo. The drive through ATM is great, and they usually have coffee and cookies in the lobby! read more

This is probably one of the worst credit unions to work with. The tellers are arrogant, their credit teams will harass you to no end and barrage you with calls and when you try to reach out to them they are impossible to get ahold of. Close your accounts with them and go anywhere else. read more

After having been compelled to move from another credit union where I *never* had even the slightest trouble, I'll testify that these guys are friendly and accommodating, and not happy about the trouble I've had, so they're at least friendly... On the other hand, they didn't give me any instructions about paying my bills electronically, so I didn't enter the right account number (you must enter all but the last two digits for some, but not others...why?...WE DON'T KNOW AND WON'T TELL YOU). They were kind enough to reimburse me for late payment fees on one credit card. Oh yes, and speaking of credit cards, they have a heck of a deal on one, so I signed up for it. Now I need to pay it by transferring between my checking account and the credit card account. GUESS WHAT I CAN'T DO! Just that! This is not rocket science, but at every turn I've been repeatedly unable to do simple, basic stuff like pay outside bills, pay my credit card directly and transfer money to and from my wife's account. They need to fire their IT staff. Seriously. read more

Do not come here if you want to wait 40 min to deposit money into an account everytime you come, the bank tellars forget their password and it takes them 20 min to log into the damn system. Its very unprofessional and time consuming! Plus the atm does not work, and its been broken for so many month now. read more

This branch has helped me get a better rate on my car loan and have been nothing but nice and respectful to me. Everyone in the branch is nice and truly cares about excelling in customer service. It saddens me that inpatient people have given this branch lower stars and reviews when this branch deserves more. After having an absolutely terrible (negative in star rating) at the Granite Bay Safe, where the manager refused to even make an attempt at decent customer service, this branch was a breath of fresh air! The girl that helped me was awesome! Got everything set up and even went above and beyond to make sure that notes were made for name changes and an upcoming trip. I would not recommend banking with this credit union AT ALL. TERRIBLE customer service not only on the phone but in person as well- all the way up from the front desk person to the manger. I intend on moving my accounts as soon as possible!!! The customer service could not solve my problem. I had to recommend a solution and they did NOTHING to help hasten the resolution. Even the managers could not come up with an original plan to resolve my issue until I had to point out a simple solution.
