Waxing vs. Threading has always been a thing I've went back and forth in my head about! With all of these new threading places popping up over the Vegas Valley, I decided that I will try most of the ones in my area, not only to give them my business but to see who really is the most consistent with my eyebrow threading. Now, I didn't come to Patel's because it was planned, more like I fell into that marketing strategy they have having an eyebrow threading place in the entrance/exit location of the Downtown Summerlin Mall. I was walking to my car and saw the signage and thought "What the hell, I will give them a try". I walked in and there wasn't a soul in sight. Shortly after, an older woman came from the back and quietly asked what service I was looking for. She wasn't rude but she definitely wasn't conversational. My eyebrows turned out as expected which is the most important however the service lacked and just overall the entire vibe of the whole thing. I almost told her nevermind just by how the vibe felt but I figured she was an OG veteran at this stuff and would do it the correct way.. I was right! Now will I be back is the real question.. Went to this place in downtown Summerlin yesterday. Couple of things I noticed: 1. She did not sanitize or wipe the chair after her last customer. 2. She was in a rush when she was doing my eyebrows even though I was the only customer and no one else was waiting. It hurt my right eye twice that made me jump and say ouch and when I looked in the mirror, it was bleeding a little. I told her I've never felt pain every time I get my eyebrows done. No reaction from her what so ever. She was just standing still. I will never come back to this place and will tell my sister who recommended this place to look for another one. read more

I've been at threader of many years. You name it and I've probably threaded it....eyebrows, lip, chin, entire face. Threading is not complex (although there is a craft involved) and absolutely easier and worlds better than waxing. I live in Summerlin and close to this location, so in lue of driving about 20 minutes to another threader I was use to going to, I thought I would give this place a shot. I will go back. Although slautering the spelling of her beautiful family name, "GaMood" was quick and efficient and did good work. She did eyebrows and chin that day what seemed like for cheap, $15. I arrived at 10am when they opened on a Thursday and she took me right away because there was nobody there (and I'm busy and have no time really to be waiting). As others on Yelp have said, this place is clean, more upscale than other brow places I have been. Almost cute in a boutique kind of way. I asked her how long she had been doing this and she said four years. She explained how one goes to school to learn properly how to thread. I had no idea really...interesting. No pain, no gain when it comes to beauty. Sure, there are consequences to waxing, threading, dying, scrubbing, exfoliating...beauty sometimes hurts. We all have a story of a beauty service gone wrong, but despite other negative reviews on this threading operation, this threading operation is equally as good (if not most certainly cuter and cleaner!) than other threaders in town. read more

My sister came to visit and we decided to close out her vacation with some beautiful henna art. We went to the Downtown Summerlin location and the lady who helped us was so sweet. She did some amazing art on our hands and even gave us a discount. She was quiet but friendly and we felt welcomed. The studio was small but brightly lit & decorated beautifully. It was worth every penny and our henna is still vibrant days later. We also bought some to take home for only $5 per tube. We are very happy we chose to get some art that day. read more

Horrible customer service from start to finish. (I had eyebrow threading.) First, she kept asking me to scoot higher, I kept trying and since I'm short, I kept falling back down. My feet had to be touching ground to stay as high as she wanted me to. She got irritated. Can't she adjust the chair instead? Second, very rough on my eyebrows, everything hurt! (And mind you I've been having them threaded for over a decade now.) When she was done, I saw that they were very thinned out, uneven, and cut short. My left eyebrow had a hole too! I really disliked the result, but she scared the heck out of me, and I was alone then (husband and kid roaming elsewhere), and I didn't want to get slapped or anything she wanted to do with me as her body language says. So I quickly just told myself "it'll grow back, let it go." Also, it's been 3 days now as I write this review, and my eyebrow area are still irritated. Third, I didn't appreciate the sighs, stern looks, and heavy handed movements. Instead of making a fuss, since it was still the holiday season, I still paid $12 for her 5-8mins of time, no tip, and no longer coming back and will tell everyone I know if they ask me for a good place to go that it is not this place. A good customer service would have made the difference, but that also doesn't/didn't exist here. I regret trying this place out of convenience (we were already at the mall, shopping) and will gladly drive 30 minutes to my go-to threading place where you feel like you're an important soul. Giving this a two because I normally go here for my eyebrow threading and they do ok but it's progressively getting worse, on the 23rd there was a new young girl that made my eyebrows super thin (think 90's thin) but left so many stray hairs, I had to go home and tweeze my brows to just fix them up. I should've known when I saw the frustrated looks from the customers before me. She was nice but the girl had no business doing brows to say the least. read more

Usually when I come it's pretty good. Needed some maintenance and came when I usually don't. Kinda a mistake. Different lady then who usually does them. The first time she showed me them they were great for thickness but there was a bump (like 2 extra hairs) left in the under part of my brow line on both brows. I showed her exactly where and then she nodded and said "okay good". She then "fixed" them and immediately I could tell she took off way more then the couple hairs I showed her that was causing the small bump... she hands me the mirror and they are thin and she has threaded into my natural shape of my brow... I looked at my left one and there was a hole! kinda pissed about it so probably won't be coming back to this location when this lady is here. When I told her she took too much off she just laughed and said okay. I don't know if it was a language barrier or if she was just genuinely not concerned she took out the fuller part of my natural brow... you can see in the photos where my natural brow shape grows and how white it is in comparison to the rest of my brow. I received an eyebrow service today and I'm not quite satisfied. This is my regular go to location and I've never had an issue but today I received service from a different woman than I usually see. I asked for just a clean up because I like to keep the thickness and shape and only want to maintain the look and I also have an event coming up. I noticed it felt much more aggressive and like more hair was being removed than I asked for. They were both thinned out by a lot and one is shorter, thinner and a different shape than the other. I'm also really tender, swollen and red and it's been a couple hours since the service. My first time trying threading. I told the lovely ladies if it hurt too bad I would leave. To my surprise, it really didn't hurt much at all. It was much less painful than plucking or waxing, however it takes a little longer than waxing and i like getting the pain over with in one shot. I also feel that waxing provides for more definition. My eyebrows look cleaned up, but not really sculpted. For the price tho, I would definitely go back. Not sure if they are running a special or $10 is their every day price but I felt it was a good deal. One day I may go back and try henna which they also provide. One thing I do like is that it is very sanitary. Since they are using thread, there is no "double dipping" into wax and I appreciated that the tech used hand sanitizer before touching my skin. I'm not sure what thread they use but it hurts so bad! I've been getting my brows threaded for years and have my go to place but it was booked and this location was near my house so I thought I'd give it a try and I almost cried that's how bad it hurt. The lady doing my brows cut me three times and I knew she did because never have I had a more painful experience. She did not shape my brows or make them thinner like I told her repeatedly. They don't understand basic English words so how are they supposed to know what the customer wants. I had one that was way thicker in the arch then the other I really regret trying a different place because now I wasted my time and money. My eyebrow artist dropped her roll of thread on the floor & then used the same thread on my face after I asked her not to because the floor is dirty, & I didn't want that on my face. Love this place so much! Very clean, the women are always so kind and professional and i love how my eyebrows come out looking each time.

My mother and I walked in and were immediately taken care of. The place smelt great and was clean. We both have never had threading done. Kumud took care of us and she totally knew what she was doing. She didn't explain the procedure to us and I wasn't sure if she completely understood what I was asking but I trusted her. I had Henna done on Saturday and was charged $75 for the design pictured-in just a few days the design has completely faded and is completely gone off my hand and fingers. Typically when I get henna done it lasts for at least a couple weeks. I stopped in to show them and the lady just shrugged her shoulders as if there was nothing they were willing I do. I've never had a problem here until today when a younger women did my brows. I purposely grew out my eyebrow. I explained to the lady I know one eyebrow will be more arched then the other. It's ALWAYS been that way. I fix it with makeup. She has a snotty know it all attitude. And told me she will only do a clean up. No shaping. I should have walked out in that second but stupid me gave her a chance. It doesn't even look like she did anything. I work in customer service I'm actually a cosmetologist. Trust me I know my eyebrows can arch and I can do them myself but I like the look of them being threaded and I thought I'd treat myself and avoid the hassle of waxing them myself. What an idiot I am. I asked her to make them thinner and she told me no. So I told her Its okay I'll just fix them at home and she decides to tell me "yeah you should do that" and walks to the front. I didn't give her any attitude I was not rude. Like I said I work with customers on a daily basis I understand but you should show your staff to cut the attitude, if you're having a bad day leave it at the door and behave in a more professional manner.
