The pros: - prices are very affordable - Jarod's deep tissue massage was great The cons: - similar to what others have conveyed, conversation was ongoing during the massage. Subtle hints of silence and short answers were not understand by him that I did not want to engage in conversation. I didn't want to be rude to tell him I didn't want to talk but I should have. - the massage oil used was very overwhelming. I didn't mind it at the time but almost 2 months later and multiple washes with various cleaning agents I still can't get the smell out of my clothes. It's what reminded me to write this review. wear clothes you do not care about. I never got massages on a monthly basis, but the quality here is amazing for the price you pay. I try to come in once a month depending on how booked it is (they book fast!). I always see Deborah and she was able to read my tensions since the first visit. She always knows where the pain is and works on it in a way that isn't painful like other places. I also get facials once in a while, and my skin is always super smooth afterwards. It's a very relaxing environment, and she uses her own oils/scrubs. I went to Deborah pre COVID times (2019). She is great at her art and though I usually like a deeper massage, her gentle massage was just as great. She is knowledgeable and freely shares what she knows. However, during the first session I was wondering if I'd signed up for a psychotherapy massage session on accident. Deborah is kind and I feel like she genuinely was just trying to be informative, however I was very upset by one question she asked. She'd been asking about my family and telling me about different stress holding patterns in the body. She then asked me, "How old were you when your father left?" I don't think my father had been mentioned up until that point but I had to clarify to her that he hadn't abandoned his family. I don't know where that came from, but I'm assuming because I am a Latina who had shared that I help my family heavily, she'd assumed there was no father in the picture. Typical stereotype. Even then, I returned a second time because I was like maybe it was just a rough start. This time around I'd had a tumor removed earlier in the year. Long story short, in an effort to "educate me", she basically told me my diet choices led to my tumor. Yes, food has alot to do with health, but even the healthiest most perfect people get sick. That was the last time I went to her. She's not bad, but I'd say a bit insensitive-maybe not intentionally, but something she should check herself on. Good luck. read more
