I developed an illness after spending time with grandchildren in Atlanta. Cold symptoms lingered on so I scheduled an appointment at the Mahan location. I did have to wait longer than expected but the wait and appointment was worthwhile. The receptionist, the nurse (Maiah) and the APRN (Jennifer) were all very prompt, professional, thorough and caring! The Mahan Team ruled out COVID, flu and strep. I went here to get get treated for poison ivy ( it was in my eyes and throat). I also have insurance (you know what happens when you dont) so they cant use that as an excuse. I showed up at 10:20 am and didn't get seen by anyone. I left at noon because all I did was sit in the back rooms (no one in the waiting room or in the office for that matter) what really bothered me was the fact that all the ladies in the front office you could here them making g fun of patients and giggling about people conditions. These front office ladies are incredibly rude. Don't use this facility unless you want the staff making fun of your conditions out in public and for everyone to hear. After pre-registering for a visit and while I was waiting to be seen I was informed that my Medicare Advantage insurance would not be accepted. This is erroneous and the insurance is the same as Medicare. Even though I was ill, I did not have the 250.00 I was told I'd need to pay to be seen. I will be making a complaint with Medicare for denying my valid insurance. Beware. read more

Got in quickly; didn't have to wait long. Got excellent attention and a Rx. Staff was courteous. Will use them again if we have to.

My visit was uneventful, in and out for about 1 hour. Staff are courteous and the APRN that saw me is okay. Had a problem with my insurance claim reimbursement and after 2 days the CEO and Billing department emailed me with the document needed! Awesome! Kudos! read more

I emailed the CEO: Bill M and was told that he would he would be extending to me a "courtesy" and have the charges removed. This guy isn't doing me any favors by giving me a "courtesy". He didn't extend a courtesy to me by Patient First billing not calling me back after I made several attempts and left several voicemails since July which was 5 months ago. It took me writing a negative review to get their attention and finally address this issue... again, never received an apology for them billing me unfairly and trying to sweep it under the rug by making excuses and not taking accountability for the lack of concern when I called them out on it with a negative review. I will not be going to them and again highly discourage anyone from doing so. I received a letter stating my account had been closed out with a zero balance, but decided not to retract my review because I did not get an apology for the error they caused and the only reason they decided to reach out was after I gave them a bad review. Had I not placed a bad review I am confident I would've been stuck with this bill. It's sad I had to write a bad review in order to get them to do what was morally right. read more

I checked in for an appointment made well ahead of time at 4:20 and spent an hour and a half waiting to see someone. I had paperwork already on file from a prior visit, but had to fill everything out again to "update" my file. Nurse and staff was nice enough, but I didn't get any inkling of "urgency" from anyone at this "urgent care" facility. Waited ages for my *scheduled* appointment, then waited almost as long for the doctor to visit my room. Waited another unnecessary amount of time to CHECK OUT and receive my prescription, with no one in line! It would have been one thing if the clinic was busy and overwhelmed. It was quiet and slow, I was one of three patients I saw walk in or out during the time I was there. So came on a Friday at 7:09 PM and doors were locked. Called and was told that they had a patient that would take a little longer so they closed early. Are you kidding me? So I get up early the next morning and go in. I'm the only one there when I sign in and the board says 0-15 minutes. I hear everyone chattering about in back but no one is calling patients name. So I sit for 35 minutes when they finally call me back only to have me sit in a room for another 40 minutes while everyone outside sat around chatting about food, hair, clothes. As I sit here I have yet to see anyone. This staff is the most unprofessional inept staff I've ever had to deal with and unfortunately it's not just this location the one on Monroe is just as bad often times misdiagnosing a patient. I probably would've been better off doing the online doctor as this was an absolutely insane visit. Update to my review To add to my misery a week later the LPN misdiagnosed me. She assumed because I'm in a college town that I had some other infection when in reality it was stress related and my doctor a week later diagnosed me correctly. Unfortunately this is the 2nd time this LPN has misdiagnosed me and given me unnecessary antibiotics or medicine only for me to later find out that wasn't the case. I will NEVER visit this place again and if you can avoid it I advise the same. read more

COVID testing here was such a positive (literally I tested positive) experience. The line to wait was long but it was worth it, when I finally got to the front I expected the doctors to be irritable for working such long hours in the rain and sun. They were so gentle and kind to me. They explained how they were going to do the test and I got my results in less than 15 minutes. I can't thank these HEROS enough. read more

I am very disappointed in my experience with the covid testing site/team so far. I registered for an appointment thru the patientsfirst site, submitted my information, received a confirmation text, and was referred to the Northwood testing site. The next day I did not receive a text prior to my appointment time, but showed up on time and waited 2 hours before having to leave. In search of support, I found a site, which I had not had to go thru previously, which said that appointments made prior to same day would not be saved. The next day I had available I went early, thinking that registration was not working properly, since it never showed same day availability. Hoping to be seen as a walk-in, I waited 2 hours prior to opening. At that time I was turned away after being told I was using the wrong site to make my appointment. The site I used was official thru patientsfirst, fully functional, allowed for choice of appointment times as they came available, allowed for submission of all pertinent data, had an automated confirmation system, and referred me to the appropriate testing site. The correct site (https://patientsfirst.com/book/mahan) still shows the mahan location on the map at the bottom. At this time, 4 days after making an appointment, I have not been tested and no apology was issued for the confusion, prior to being told I'd have to leave bc I had no appointment. Tho based on the person telling me I might be using the wrong site, they are clearly aware of this issue. So, either use the appropriate site listed above, if you can actually get one, or find an alternate venu that has more respect for you and your time. read more

The nurse I saw gossiped about a recent patient who had a positive pregnancy test while her husband was deployed, left the room without looking at my throat and had to rush back to do it, didn't ever look at my ears that I stated hurt, and then told me that since the strep test was negative they didn't know I why I was sick and to go to an ear nose and throat doctor. They gave me no medicine and not even a print out summary of my visit. I obviously will not be returning to this useless abomination of an urgent care facility. read more

I did not feel as though the patient came first in any of the employees mind except for the doctor. He was fine; the rest of the crew was totally uninspired--near pissed off about life in general. Ater waiting 2 and a half hours in an exam room and giving nurse medical backgroud the receptionist came in and said they were not taking new medicare patients. This is the worst patients first experience I've ever had. I came here 3 days ago complaining of cold symptoms and was prescribed a $92 antibiotic that didn't do anything but give me more symptoms. Dr. Nguyen spent a total of maybe 90 seconds in the room with me. Now I'm back 3 days later and was told it was a 45 minute wait. I waited in the waiting room for 2 hours and now I'm in a room waiting for the doctor and its been 45 minutes. Do not come here unless you want to be pissed off and freezing cold. read more

The doctor Dung Nguyen is A very arrogant person. He has disrespected another patient that was in the office. I overheard the conversation between the doctor and the patient and couldn't believe how he treated her. He pointed his pen and got in her face and she began to cry. After seeing her asking for help, he insisted that she leave the office. I am glad he was not the doctor that I had to see for my visit. I would not recommend this clinic and I am hopeful that the patient will take actions against him for creating such a hostile environment. read more

I wish I could give less than one star, what a horrible medical care facility and a horrible way to do business. I'm a manager at a local construction business, we have 32 employees. We have sent our employees to this location for years as they provide a pre-employ testing some of the others do not, but they certainly lack the customer service skills any basic business should have to survive. I have taken employees here myself for several reasons; bad cuts, medical treatment for punctures, wrenched muscles, etc. In my 7 visits there taking an employee, my minimum wait WITH APPOINTMENT was 1 and a half hours for them to take him in, and then another hour to treat/evaluate the employee. My longest wait WITH APPOINTMENT was 4 and a half hours total from arrival to departure.....and that was for a simple follow up from a previous visit, nothing was needed to be treated or prescribed. Since these are mostly Worker's Comp visits they take their time and will schedule the employee to continue coming back several visits after they've been completely recovered. But I guess that's the game. Today (06/01), we sent an employee there for a follow-up visit the clinic scheduled him for at this location from his visit yesterday (05/31), for a cut on his finger that was not bad but required a tetanus shot. After he arrived and waited for a while, they called us to say they are now strictly a primary care facility and would not see him, that he had to go to another Patient's First facility for his follow up. I asked the nurse on the phone if she was saying that they are no longer a Patient's First location, she said they still are. I asked if that meant they were refusing to see this patient, she said they were not refusing, but he had to go elsewhere. (???). I'm overly fond of riddles or puzzles, so this statement eluded me with what logic she was attempting to use. So, after enduring endless waiting periods (see other reviews), inconsistent treatment, and ongoing needless follow-up visits, my best advise to all is to save yourself time and aggravation, and follow exactly what this office employee told me to do...."Take your business elsewhere". read more

Waited over an 1 hr and 20 min for the doctor to come in for 3 minutes, tell me he thinks my sinus issues are really something dealing with migraines when I currently don't have a migraine and ask me did I try to go see my primary physician. Okay, where do I begin? I had some sort of flu and was feeling terrible. I got there and there was literally no one in the waiting room and apparently two people were being discharged. They got me into a room fairly quickly and the nurse did a lengthy intake. Then, over an hour later a medical student comes in and mind you, I was very sick, so I started crying and just said, I want to see the doctor. Well, Dr. Nguyen, because I didn't feel like rehashing my symptoms to a medical student, basically goes on to other patients and makes me wait even longer which seemed very spiteful. When I called it on him he said with a very cavalier attitude "In this business...blah blah blah"; he showed zero empathy or care. Then finally, I'm seen by the nurse practitioner who is better but when the nurse comes in to run tests, she literally said "I don't want to get sick so if you have to cough or sneeze, stay away from me: I have never had a nurse say something like that. This experience was terrible and I have been here a few times before and it's always been a long wait, but this was just incredibly bad care with people who obviously don't care about there patients whatsoever. Waiting for at least an hour to be attended by a nurse and then another at least an hour wait for the doctor to come n see you is very normal. My mom just visited this location with doctor Dung. She just came for her right shoulder. He requested a shoulders X-ray. After that, he didn't say anything any much. No treatment, and her shoulder still hurts. Very disappointed, I don't think Doctor Dung is doing right thing to help patient improvement. read more

Awful.. Go ANYWHERE BUT THIS PARTICULAR PATIENTS FIRST.. I pay out of pocket so paid the 200$ for visit upfront. I can see why they'd want $ upfront as business dealing w/ pay out of pocket, but also maybe because after you've paid, theyve got their money, & then just want to do referrals. There was a procedure I needed done in office RIGHT away, but the receptionist left for the day & had no way to process the OTHER 100$(!!) procedure that was NEEDED. THEREFORE, I left more confused than what the ER Dr told me a few days before& they were supposed refer me to a specialist to get me in sooner than the appt they gave me weeks from now.. They sent a generic text 48 hrs later, asking if I needed someone to call, I texted yes, got a respond they'd call within 24 hrs. Didn't happen. So now, I spent 200$ only to be told go a specialist & they'd move my appt up as it was an immediate emergency. That's yet to happen 6 days later. This particular Dr (Nguyen) was AWFUL. I was stunned to find out that the intake person refused to run my medicare card, and determine my copay (I had money in my wallet and a debit card to access my bank account). He refused me because I don't have supplemental Medicare insurance (I don't need or want it). He plain refused. I drove to the Kerry Forrest location of patients first and was processed very quickly and I paid my copay out of my wallet (only 20 dollars) and within 5 minutes was with a kind and professional doctor. The Mahan drive location is staffed with rude and condescending people and you will be much better off not going there. It was the young man at reception who did this. read more

The Doctor was OK but the nurse was rude and because my husband complained about standing for so long when she eventually gave him the steroid injection she jammed it in, I watched as she did this. These are the sorriest doctors and nursing staff I have ever seen! I go in with a Urinary tract infection. I am having agonizing bladder spasms. They give me Phenazopyrid which is suppose to soothe this..IT did nothing but turn my pee orange. They have an on call nurse, I call her at 11pm and ask her what to do,she says to take a bath! She won't call the doctor to ask for something else. I call back at 8am and don't hear back from them till 2pm to tell me they just called in an antibiotic for me. I again ask for something to help with the bladder spasms, I even tell them the name of what the last doctor gave me in the past. Instead the nurses tells me to go pick up some "AZP" The nurse that told me to do that was Lynn Stele, now she is either incompetent or just jerking me around, AZP IS THE SAME CRAP THEY GAVE ME YESTERDAY (Phenapyrid) except it is over the counter and 95 mg instead of 100mg. The nurse ask me if I want a "muscle relaxer" (code words for narcotic) I told her "hell no I don't want that crap"...I want a med called, "Utira-C" which is what my last doctor gave me. This medicine (Utira-C) is a Urinary antiseptic, antispasmodic and analgesic used to treat the discomfort of irritation urination. It is used to relieve symptoms such as inflammation spasms and pain due to urinary tract infections. But heck no they won't allow me to have that. So I sit here feeling as if my bladder is going to burst it is so full, which is what the spasms are. These sorry scum have ripped me and my insurance company off for over $300.00 and I am still miserable. It sucks to be this powerless. What ever happened to the doctors that gave a damn? read more

we visited this a few weeks ago for a reference to corns.. they made us wait endlessly..from 4 to 10pm we were at that place simply to talk to doctors available..havent seen anywere the restrooms were locked and keys were with the staff... they dint diagnose anything or give any treatment.. they just suggested a medicine and were not sure if i could use it or not since i was pregnant... we paid 30$ for our visit.. and 1 month later they charged us 150$.. when we called them to ask about this the staff there were extremely rude.. omg this is definetly worst place we ever visited.. i would surely suggest people not to go there and pay 100s of dollars just to return with no treatment read more
