I was hesitant to go to my appointment after reading the negative reviews but I am so glad I didn't cancel. From start to finish the staff took care of me kindly and efficiently. Iyana at the front desk, checked me in early and was very kind and professional. Janay and Ryne were both helpful in my diagnosis and spoke to me not only professionally but like a human! I was there for about an hour, but I was taken back early and they ran 2 tests so it seems like an accurate timeline. I am self pay, they told me what I owed up front and what it included before ever being seen, they also helped me find the best pharmacy to get prescriptions for the cheapest price. Go to the Thomasville Road location very nice and friendly staff. The location here is horrible. The front desk employee (Sadie) is very rude. She said they hold appointments for an hour even if you're not here. Then she tells a guy when he walked him they're extremely busy and he should go to TMH urgent care. (What)?? Then she tells a customer they may not take his insurance without knowing if that was the case so he could leave. The problem is I have the same insurance that was previously accepted. I asked for her manger (Xavier she stated) She called him and lied about my concerns and then sat there and whispered with another office worker while still not wanting to work. She didn't mention to me when I checked in they were running behind I had sat over 45min before she says they will try to see if the other appointments don't show which they hold for an hour even if there not in the building. What a trash place to go. Was literally told by whatever the person who looks at you here is, because it's not a doctor, to "go see a real doctor"... so what did I just pay 175 for then? What is the point of a place like this that cannot prescribe all medicine or even know what they are talking about when checking your body out? Literally admitting that they don't do anything for you and that you should go to a "real doctor" is one of the most humorous and frustrating things I've ever heard in my life. This place is called patients first, yet cannot help any of their patients, which makes me think, what could possibly be going on behind the doors? I always have a good experience at Patients First. Yes, the wait times are long, but the staff here is incredibly kind and understanding. It is to be expected that an Urgent Care will have longer wait times. Making an appointment before hand will help it go a little faster, and it is still much better than going to the ER. read more

If I were new patients I would pay little attention to the low ratings here. This is a first rate clinic with clean, waiting area and patient rooms, quickly attentive and skilled personnel, brilliant PAs, & quick efficient or concise services. I looked at the people's profiles who gave low ratings and most of them seemed like either 'drug hunters' or DIVA/attitude types, and even alcoholic types. I took my wife in as we were traveling & she needed help with a severe allergic reaction or severe allergy attack. Kindly greeted at desk, short wait, attentive staff, specific diagnosis, prescription gotten next door at CVS, and nearly immediate relief afterwards. We highly recommend these people and this clinic! Too bad drug-heads and unreasonable people ruin feedback and reputations for businesses as great as this! read more

I do not do doctor's offices. I generally feel like going to the doctor is like going to a legalized drug dealer. I came here nearly against my will, but I was so sick that I knew I needed help. Turned out I had bronchitis. My first impression was that the staff was extremely friendly and were genuinely concerned. This feeling was further reinforced as I watched new patients coming in as I sat in the waiting room. The examination process was very relaxed and the doctor asked me what I thought was wrong with me, not automatically telling me what was wrong. I've always felt this was the best practice, as it shows a doctor who is really ready to listen to the patient - the one who knows exactly how he/she is feeling. The doctor then recommended a couple of solutions and showed me where to get the cheapest - yet very effective (only $4!!!!), medication to get rid of the bronchitis. After weeks of suffering - I was feeling back to normal in a couple of days, and I didn't have to pay exorbitant prices. It allowed me to get myself back to health and ready to go back to work. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!! the people are rude and very unprofessional. Do your self a favor spend more money and time and go see a real doctor I have learned my lesson. I went in expecting to get a simple EKG after I spoke with the front desk on the phone she told me sure we can do it no problem after wasting time and money they told me I need a note from a doctor to get one. I explained to them You are my doctor that is why I paid you, still would not do it. they said they refunded my money I had to call my credit card company to dispute the charges another hassle. Then I received a phone call from a man who said he was the director of operations who continued to insult me by calling me a "NEW YORKER" and "You must be from New York." sounds racist to me. This is by far the worst care I have ever received. They forgot to run numerous tests that I made sure to ask for specifically then when I complained in a review and someone called me they actually lied and said I refused the tests. Thankfully they ran the tests for me a few days later but when I asked them for a document of the results to show to my physician the woman on the phone said they don't have a written form of test results and proceeded to hang up on me. I'm really just impressed by how bad my experience was overall other than the new nurse in training that took my blood on my second visit, she was very nice. read more

Friendly service at front desk and with practitioner. Surprisingly, and despite being prepared for a long wait, I was checked in and brought into the 'real' waiting room within 10 minutes. From the waiting room (a small room crammed with chairs and no place to stand except awkwardly in front of a chair) to practitioner - another 10 minutes, if that. However, it all caught up when I was in the room. Had to wait about 20 minutes to see a doctor. Everyone was nice though and explained everything whenever I asked, which I appreciate...though it definitely felt like a business who was trying to upsell me. I'm sure it is difficult to build the rapport when most patients are not reoccurring so gotta give them credit for trying! read more

I ran here one day after work, because I felt like my throat was closing up. I walked in and the waiting room was dirty. The floors hadnt been swept in what looked like a week and there was an odd odor that didnt smell like sanitization. I went to the counter and the woman sat on the phone for about 5 minutes before she actually aknowledged me. She asked for my license and insurance card and gave me papers to fill out. After I finished the paperwork I took it back to the counter and she said they would be right with me. 30 minutes later, they finally called my name, then informed me they didnt take my insurance. I am pretty sure that should have been the first thing she noticed when I handed her the card. After a frustrating conversation with the woman I stormed out, untreated, and still very sick. We have come here multiple times, and the staff are consistently lovely. We've had great care from the staff. Yes, you have to wait 30 mins for insurance verification b/c they have to check to make sure your policy is valid (standard practice). I saw a complaint that they wouldn't write a Rx for Xanax ... That's standard, it's the nature of the drug. The negative complaints don't seem to be based on anything other than unreasonable expectations. Best experience I've had at an urgent care center. The staff was very warm and friendly and thorough as was Dr Peters. They saw me quickly, and were transparent about the time it would take to take care of me. MUST GO TO- If it's the weekend or after your physicians business hours. I have been multiple times since I travel for a living, I can't always make a 9-4:30 appt with my family doctor. These doctors here take time to evaluate your symptoms, listen to you and then try to treat the current problems. Most people don't understand when they get there- that they are really only going to get their symptoms treated, because they do not have our past medical history to review. So when I go in, I make sure to tell the docs what is necessary for them to know and then what is happening now. Yes, some times the whole waiting room is full.. It happens. If you want them to spend time with you... Well then you will have to wait until they are done providing the same care to others. Don't get mad- if you do, then maybe you should get a primary physician. I am grateful they're open when they are and are knowledgable enough to help treat what issues I have going on. If they can't, they send you to the hospital. I strongly recommend this location (Lake Ella) off Tharpe and Monroe, near Publix. read more

Rudest front desk employees ever. I called to ask about a covid test and the lady told me she was busy, left me on hold and never came back.

DO NOT go here if you value you health. If you cough or say you have any flu symptoms they will ask you to put on a sanitary mask. Upon inspecting the box of masks, someone had stuck their chewing gum in there. Also they use the "Sanitary" mask box to hold office literature that people constantly pick up and put back while waiting for the employees to finish talking to their friend on the phone before they acknowledge that you even exist. Nothing about these masks are sanitary and where they are located is a blatant health code violation. I felt more likely to catch something new than to get rid of what I came for. Utterly disgusting. Poor front staff (The doctor's are actually great as well as the intake nurses), but the ladies at the front desk obviously hate their jobs and love that they can take it out on the customers. I finally got so angry I just left. I won't be back to this location until there is some sort of major shake up with their first contact staff. Luckily I know the owner. He lives in my neighborhood and his office is next to a family members work place. I think I'll drop him a certified letter to his office tomorrow. I guess you can't fix a problem when there is no easy way to find who you are so you can be notified. Unfortunately, you never know who the person you are dealing with may be or know. I made my appointment in the morning for 5PM only to receive two messages pushing my appointment back 15 minutes...then pushing it back an hour. I show up at my "appointment" ( an hour and fifteen minutes later than scheduled ) I sign in, wait another hour in the waiting room. The nurse initially called me by the wrong name and then proceeded to have an attitude when I wasn't responding because she said my name incorrectly (???) Then I was called back I was escorted into a patient room, waited 30 minutes for a nurse to take my blood pressure etc. An hour following that, the "doctor" came to see me and stayed in the room for a matter of 3 minutes before leaving to write my prescription (didn't tell me my diagnosis) He took 25 minutes to write the prescription and now the pharmacy is closed since my "5:00 appointment" ended at 8:15. read more

My son had a strep test in his car. He has Florida Blue and paid a $25 co pay. The Patients First office charged the wrong insurance information. He called and gave them the correct information when he realized there was a discrepancy. We received a bill of $489 for a strep test. He has called 4-5 times and no one returns the calls. They are abusing the system. There is no way that a simple strep test costs $489. We do not recommend. You are better off at CVS or Walgreens or anywhere to get a simple test and not get price gauged. read more

This was the worst experience ever. After waiting iver an hour in the front, was put in the room for another 20 minutes. There was one other patient in the entire place. While in the room heard loud joking and laughing coming from outside. The staff were making fun of another patoent. Totally inappropriate and unprofessional. Once the PA came in she was Totally crass. She didnt check my chest, ears or any vital signs. Tomd me I was sick and good luck. No medication. I asked her about OTC meds and she said there we're alot out there !! Worthless totally. A waste of my time and while feeling terrible. These people are are unprofessional and not even compassionate. The staff at this location are incompetent. Called ahead to make sure they could treat my husband, he had slipped a disc in his back at the gym and could barely walk and was in extreme pain. I spoke to the nurse about an hour before we arrived and explained in detail what was wrong, she assured me that they could treat him and to bring him in at any time. After a lot of pain and a great struggle for a couple hours to get him into the car we drove to this location . As soon as we arrived they told me that they did not have a wheelchair to help get him in the location so he painfully walked inside and sat down, I approach the front desk only to learn that the person behind the desk was brand new and had no idea how anything worked had not been properly trained so I asked to speak to a nurse, the nurse came out and told us we would just simply have to wait, after about 20 minutes of waiting she came back out to tell me they would not be able to do anything for my husband and we should take him to the emergency room. I have been a primary care patient at this urgent care for 4 years, in that time I have had 5 different Doctors because they have quit this practice. I chose this clinic because I travel for my job and their hours were convenient. I also have a chronic illness that I have had since childhood and if I do not have my prescriptions filled regularly I will die. Today I was informed that they will no longer see primary care patients and they will no longer renew my prescription even for a short term. I have been abandoned by this so called medical clinic. I do not recommend this facility at all. I find that any medical clinic that would abandon and leave a patient with a chronic and dangerous medical condition without treatment is unethical and immoral. read more

I went to the Lake Ella Location for a visit on 8-16-10 and a rat jumped out of the table with a patient and staff member in the room. I over heard the scream and apparently the rat was in the exam table chewing paper. Its was ridiculous and disgusting and I will not be returning and I'm sure that patient will not either. However the staff was nice and friendly and quick! If it wasn't for a rat there I would have been happy but that made my visit very uncomfortable. read more

Patients are not really first here at Raymond Diehl. The doctor I saw was wonderful. I need to submit samples for testing and was provided vials by the nurse. When I carried them to Quest, they told me I had been given the wrong vials by the nurse and had to re-do tests. Dr. told me to call on Thursday morning to get my test results. Took 3 calls before I could talk to someone who could give me the results. Then told if I wanted a copy I would need to come pick them up. Patients Last is a better business name. The first receptionist was a guy that lacked personality and was rude at most times. He acted as if the customer made him come to work and work while he was at his job. He does not need to be at the first desk with his radio blasting. He didn't address me by name just just how much I owe after I took a seat. I had to ask him if he was talking to me or the four other people in the waiting room. I thought paying patients sign in so that you as the receptionist would know our names and address us as such. This particular person makes you not want to come back and desperately needs customer service skills and an abundance of customer service education. Highly recommend going anywhere else. I waited multiple hours for minimal care. I was prescribed several expensive medications that I could have bought a lot cheaper over the counter. The worst part was they took my insurance card and my copay. However, six months later I received a very expensive "self pay" bill. When I called they informed me that they did not accept my insurance. 1. I should've been informed of this 6 months ago when they saw my insurance card and took my copay acting as if they accepted my insurance. 2. It shouldn't have taken them 6 months to address the situation. 3. They did not offer to help me with my situation after the fact. They're financial team was also difficult to get in contact with. Horrible experience. Waited in waiting room for 40 min and then another 40 in the room for the dr. I wasn't even bothered that much by the wait but instead the lack of compassion by the dr. I have a serious anxiety disorder and this experience was already very stressful for me, and the doctor only made it exponentially worse. She didn't let me speak about the progression of my illness before she dismissidly diagnosed me, then told me that if I don't wash my hands that I would make the next pregnant woman to come in have a mentally retarded child. I came in to be seen for an alarming heart rate among other symptoms, and had no problem being seen, but I have now been waiting over a month for my records to be sent to my dr, and no calls whatsoever about a referral for a specialist. I am now being charged extra by my primary because the records department can't get their act together and send their records over (by the way is 1 PIECE OF PAPER) AND the Patients First records dept is charging me an extra $25 for my records to process. I went to this "practice" when i was living in Tallahassee. I cannot imagine why they call this place patients first. It is more like patients dead last. First of all they demand payment up front and they always managed to ask it in a very nasty way. I've never been to a doctor where they demand payment up front. It is usually when you are leaving that you pay. Secondly if the doctor you typically see is off that day or on leave they cannot simply schedule you with another one of the 6 or 7 other doctors in the practice. They tell you you have to wait until your doctor is back from leave. This happened to me in the month of December. I saw a nurse practitioner and he was useless. He kept telling me he couldnt prescribe this or that medication for sleep or anxiety. I also went in to get some blood work done once and they called me a little later that day and said they forgot to charge my card for the work and that if i did not come back to pay my blood would be discarded by the end of the day. Really??? This is a doctors office??? Also, the good ole' doc here that i used to see would give me about two refills on my meds and then say just call when you need a refill. Yeah right. I used to call countless times a day requesting a refill before they actually called it in. I went to two patients first practices and they were both terrible. My second terrible experience with a Patients First (last) was just a couple of days before i left Tallahassee to move back to Atlanta. I was second guessing my decision to leave my job and Tallahassee and i started to have a terrible panic attack. I've always had issues with anxiety so i went to the Lake Ella location at about 9pm at night. I filled out the paperwork and i was called back to what i thought was going to see the doctor but no. It was some surly billing clerk that blurted out i owe $52.00 to the North Monroe location. I was so desperate to see a doctor that i paid it. I saw the doctor and told her what i was going through and asked for a script for Xanax. She was a medical doctor but said she could not write a script for that and that i had to go to the ER. I was completely floored that a medical doctor could not write a simple script for Xanax. Please do yourself a favor and shop around for a better practice than Patients FIrst. It does seem convenient at first to just pull up and see a doctor at some lousy drive up clinic like this chain but you will save yourself alot of hassle by going to a real practice. read more
