By 1:50pm she had abruptly left saying she was finished. I was working from home that day so smiled and waved goodbye. Ten minutes later I went to look. I'd heard the vacuum, but there were still crumbs visibly on the wooden floor. There was a smear of honey on the kitchen counters - if they'd been wiped I don't know how it was still there. Nothing had been dusted. I'd left clean linens on the bed, but it wasn't even made, never mind the sheets changed. From what I can tell she vacuumed a small patch of floor and took out the trash. Miranda sent a text at 3pm to find out if it went well, I directed to the email I'd already sent. Later that night she offered a $20 refund and to send another cleaner. No thanks! I texted to see what was up, and Soul Maids told me she couldn't get there until 2:30. It was unclear whether anyone would have given me notice of this if I hadn't reached out. That time didn't work for me, so we rescheduled for the next day at 10 a.m. Yvette texted me that night to ask if she could come at 11 instead. I told her OK, but that was the absolute latest I could have her come with my schedule. She promised she would be on time. The next day at 10:30 she texts and says she can't make it until 1. So two days in a row I schedule my life around appointments that weren't fulfilled. I might have been willing to overlook that, but Soul Maids didn't much care about how much they inconvenienced me. I would have expected a business owner to be more concerned about her employees not showing up. I will say it was easy and fast to schedule by text, but that doesn't mean much if you don't ever get the service.

It changed without communication to one cleaner and four hours. The cleaner mixed all the trash, recycling, and composting (contamination), which could have caused a huge fine in New York City. It doesn't seem as if there was training. Some items were thrown out without consultation, and papers were reorganized to the point where I couldn't find a receipt. The only reason I am not giving them five stars is that I on the morning I was originally scheduled to have a cleaning, the company let me know that the person who was supposed to come called in sick and they were going to have to send someone 3 hours later. Unfortunately, that wouldn't work with my schedule so I had to reschedule. Then the woman who came the second time showed up an hour late. She said she had been outside the building but didn't have my cell number to call me and had to wait for someone to come out. This was unfortunate because I left instructions that I don't have a call box and that my cell needed to be called to let the cleaner in. There was a tech issue with my third appointment, and the customer service in rectifying it was incredible, they offered to refund and also set up a follow up cleaning appointment.
