Non-existent and/or poor communication. The cleaner arrived on-site 50 minutes early without prior notice. We discussed hiring two cleaners for two hours over the phone. It changed without communication to one cleaner and four hours. The cleaner mixed all the trash, recycling, and composting (contamination), which could have caused a huge fine in New York City. It doesn't seem as if there was training. Some items were thrown out without consultation, and papers were reorganized to the point where I couldn't find a receipt. I want to remove the dust off from the surfaces of my apartment so I could move it after the service. They knew it is post construction service and the charged extra for it. Before the cleaning, they ask me for steps so they could reach the higher places. I went to buy it immediately for them. Again, it's newly renovated so my apartment is empty. Lack of necessary equipment. They have no cleaning supply with them. They were just using water!? After the cleaning, my apartment still very dusty. When I was inspecting how they did, they rushing me saying they have another appointment. And they leave a bag of garbage in the house. Customer service is very good. Quick reply and answer. Still waiting for the solution of this situation. *Situation update* So, their reply is quick. However, they didn't want to take any responsibility of what they did not provided. They said they will give me refund unless I remove this review. That's why they have so many good reviews but only a few bad review. I am not happy with this answer because people should know what kind of services you could provide. So, I decided not to take the refund and leave this review here so everyone can see this. I mentioned they charged me extra $80 for post construction service. And without anything done for what I requested. " still very dusty everywhere" , they offered me $40 refund but I must remove this review. Telling me that they already give me a discount. The discount is with condition that I could pay by cash. The two ladies that came to my apartment was early and kind. I paid for a kitchen deep cleaning, wall washing for 1 room, and cleaning for an 1 bedroom apartment. They arrived at 9am and finished by 10am. They were extremely fast and detail My living room- they did a good job cleaning dusting, and vacuuming. They did an excellent job mopping. I walked barefoot and feet stayed clean. They vacuum in between my couch cushions. My living space felt brand new. My bedroom- my bed was made to perfection. They clean underneath my bed very well. I needed someone to come get the place move-in ready after const. renovations. Communicating thru Yelp, i was able to get a price quote, specify what i wanted done (with added concern areas) and then make an appointment easily. Initially i had a 3-hour slot booked, but the ladies were able to finish in under 2hrs, so i was only charged for such. The ladies clean EVERYTHING, even opened cabinet drawers to wipe down. I stopped using their services. So disappointed after years of trying to find a reliable service. Although a refund was finally granted, I had a terrible experience and had something valuable stolen from my bedroom while I was with my newborn in the living room. I confronted the person and she was very aggressive and tried to gaslight the situation. Eventually she took the stolen item our of her purse and put it in a place to make it look like I had done it. The employees were fired, but I felt very angry that two people who work for such a great service would take advantage of a new mother and her baby like that. You may want to speak to management to confirm WHO is coming to clean. They did a terrible job and my floors looked worse when they left. read more

The woman who came to clean did an ok job - she didn't exactly wash the floor (just swept it and used a swiffer and spray on it) and didn't do a particularly thorough job. She was there for over 3 hours but I am not sure what she actually spent most of her time doing. We had ordered two people to get the job done faster and (I thought) with more rigor but they sent 1 woman who stayed for over 3 hours. Worst of all - it was really expensive! One of the ladies could not make it, but the other extended her time to 3 hours to get the job done. The lady, Octavia was her name, was thorough, courteous and professional. Oh do not distress, Sterling Maids to the rescue! THE GOOD: These people are truly life savers. My cleaner, Rea, was very prompt and arrived right on time. Each and every single room was cleansed from top to bottom like it was their own. I truly have a newfound respect for anyone in the cleaning industry because I don't think I could have even cleaned my home in such an immaculate way. THE BAD: Unfortunately, I may have downplayed exactly how much work needed to be performed to my house. I can't say enough about the service provided by Sterling Maids. The ladies had their work cut out for them and they did an incredible job. They worked on my apartment for 4 hours - it had to be well over the allotted time for my appointment! But I have a big apartment for a one-bedroom and there was much work to be done. The apartment looks like a whole new place now. They knew everything they needed to do and hardly asked me anything, which I was grateful for because I was doing my own organizing as they cleaned and wanted to focus on that. I found this service through Yelp so I feel compelled to review them on Yelp. I chose them based on the price quotes I got from several services. In addition, Sterling was one of the few businesses that included a phone number with their quote. I am over 50, so sometimes I just like to talk to people on the phone instead of filling out an online form. Don't worry - in the final stage there is an online form with check boxes so you can describe every aspect of your apartment and necessary cleaning. Rea did a great job. She brought all her own supplies including the vacuum cleaner! I chose the hourly rate because my husband and I don't make much of a mess just the two of us. And we got a discount for signing up for cleaning every 2 weeks. I stayed the entire time on Rea's first visit. Since then, I leave the key with the doorman and trust her to do a good job, which she does! I decided at the last minute to invite people over for coffee and cake on Sunday, and I know that my apartment will be sparkly and beautiful, because it always is now. read more

After reading the reviews on here, I decided to give this place a try. I am pregnant with a full time job and my husband just simply can't do it all. They came at 12:45 pm and I immediately started to guide them with what I wanted cleaned. Upstairs: two main bathrooms with tub and shower and toilet. One main master bedroom. And two small bedroom that barely needed anything done. (The entire house was not a mess at all) Downstairs: kitchen counter and entire downstairs needed to be sweeped and mopped. Two small bathrooms. One of the girls said they might need three hours because of the size and I said that is totally fine. Two hours passed and they were still working on the upstairs bathrooms and bedroom. These bathrooms were not extremely dirty with clothes everywhere. They did not have to make any beds, just simple dusting and wiping and vacuuming. When it hit three I told them to start downstairs immediately. I really wanted them to help with the kitchen counter but I ended up doing it myself along with some dishes. All they did was sweep and mop and briefly cleaned the two bathrooms downstairs and that was just too rushed. (I also sweeped) The results of course was great, the areas they REALLY spent a lot of time on. But I wish they just spaced out the priorities more with the time given. Two girls in three hours should be able to get what I wanted done but unfortunately not. They told me to be more specific next time? But I thought I was specific enough. I booked Sterling Maids for a one time move in cleaning for my new 2 bed/2 bath apartment, and everything went great. The 2 ladies (didn't catch their names) did a great job: they arrived on time, were very nice, and cleaned absolutely everything, including the inside of the kitchen cabinets and appliances, and the windows. I also appreciated the fact that they provided all the supplies, including a vacuum cleaner. A lot of other services require that you have a bunch of equipment on hand, which doesn't make any sense for a move in or move out service (I mean the apartment is supposed to be empty). The only things they needed were garbage bags and a step stool. I had also specified that I didn't want them to use harsh products on the bamboo floors, and they came with Bona products and mop which I really appreciated.
