I was thrilled to learn about Patrick Vet Clinic from neighbors on the Nextdoor app! Our regular vet's prices kept increasing, and keeping up with just the well-care bills for our dogs was becoming challenging. My dogs now get the same great quality care they did before, only at a much more reasonable rate!

My family and I have been coming here for years. As a walk-in clinic, it's so convenient to be able to pop in here anytime with the dogs. The staff is very professional and kind to animals. Although it can get pretty crowded sometimes in the waiting room, there are plenty of chairs (and even some doggy treats for your dogs while they wait). Usually the wait during peak times is 30 minutes or less. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

She treats both you and your pet with genuine compassion, patience, and respect. You're never made to feel like just another appointment or a number; she takes her time, listens, and makes sure you understand every step of your pet's care all while valuing your opinion. What stands out most is how she sees animals for what they are -- living, feeling beings who deserve kindness and dignity. That level of care is rare, and it's exactly why my family and I trust her completely with our pets. My family and I actually drive all the way from North Mount Pleasant just to bring our pets to her and her team -- that alone should speak volumes about the level of trust and confidence we have in her care. And her team? Absolutely incredible, 10/10. Her techs are just as kind, competent, attentive, and dedicated. They go above and beyond to make sure both pets and owners feel comfortable, supported, and cared for. It's not easy to find a veterinary team that blends skill, compassion, and integrity so seamlessly, but Dr. Kahuda and her staff truly do. I am beyond grateful to have found them, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my pets.

My fiance and I are both students, so cost and transparency was certainly important to us in choosing a vet. However, I was also looking for a empathetic stress free environment for both my stray cat and myself, as I had never owned a cat before. From the initial form, allowing me to outline our story in advance, our appointment felt so individualized. Sarah R. , our fantastic Vet Tech, had read our case and was called in specially to see Princess because of her experience with strays. She was calm and effective, and I was shocked to see her petting Princess less than 30 seconds after opening her carrier (I had not yet attempted this). She was personable, telling us about her own fur babies, but I also felt she was very thorough in collecting history and let me ask lots of questions. In addition to Sarah's excellence, Dr. Morgan Mcpheeter was calm, efficient, and knowledgeable. I am not a "review" person but for the person out there wondering if they should invest in a Vet Relationship instead of a neuter/spay service, I think Charleston Harbor is everything they've advertised and more (rare in Chs).

She has helped me with a non-mobile CH kitten (who learned to walk with the aid of exercises guided by Dr. Klein), URI cats, cats with eye issues, high blood pressure, and my beloved FIV+ Japanese cats. The cats never seem fearful in her care and I believe this is because of her ability to understand them and their body language, and she doesn't force them into going to the "crazy point". She is thorough and communicates with the pet parents well to help us understand all we can do to care for our 4-legged friends. She's not quick to want to test, test, test for money, money, money - something anyone can appreciate. She keeps the patient and the human in mind always. It's a bonus that they provide free parking across the street from the office for their pet parents. Best vet in my book!

It was very…read moreobvious that it was time as she had stopped eating, drinking, and refused her meds under any condition. I knew that I wanted it to be done at home where she would be most comfortable, but I didn't know how that worked so I started searching. I saw that Dignity Bridge had a lot of recommendations on a local facebook group I'm in, but they didn't have a website. I decided to give them a call and leave a message since it was already after normal business hours. Their voicemail message suggested texting for a faster response so I hung up and did that instead. Shortly after, I got a response answering all my questions about pricing, who they recommend for cremation, and availability. Dr Evans and I texted back and forth multiple times and were working on finding a time to move forward with the euthanasia. The next day, Dr. Evans let me know of an opening in her schedule that evening which is when I was trying to schedule her. My dog ended up passing naturally overnight so I was no longer in need of her services. I appreciated her following up and let her know the circumstances. She wrote me a very nice response offering her sympathy and to let her know if they could help with anything. Although I did not end up having to use their services, the interaction I had was worthy of a five star experience. I hope not to be faced with making that difficult decision again any time soon, but if so, I will absolutely be calling Dr Evans and Dignity Bridge again.

I was updated by vet and staff and they seemed very caring. Her care was transferred to another surgeon, dr bianucci, on Monday. That note says "discharged home", not true. This vet opted to see her after his morning appointments. Around 2:30 ish he told me she needed urgent surgery. So she goes to the OR. The only update I received was from the receptionist. He updated me after surgery (i knew she was critical). I never heard from him again. Until he called after she died. On Tuesday she seemed better. I saw her twice. I elected to call for an update at 10 pm and was told they were rounding and would call when completed. ( I was previously told they would let me know if her condition changed they didn't @ ). At midnight the note says tach tachypnic and abd distended. Next note says "around 2-2:30" she went into cardiac arrest and cpr was started. The says O ( me ) was called and stopped cpr. I was called at 4:44 am. I was told she was in cardiac arrest and asked them to stop. My furkid died alone. They never called me when her condition changed and sure as hell never called me "around 2-2:30 am". I finally spoke to the office manager who had no answers. The charges were ridiculous. For example " hospitalization" level 2-$195 and below that "blood pressure"-$29. I was unable to upload photos documenting all of the complaints. I realize you are a business to make money but creative and lying. Should not be part of that. I will make it my mission to tell everyone I can, how you treated my furkid and me.

This is a great local veterinarian office on James Island that has been in business continually for…read moreover 50 years! Drs. Bryan and McKee were with Dr. Beck basically from the early beginnings and have continued the services even after her passing. Dr. Ohlandt has recently joined them on their ventures, and occasionally there will be another vet to float through. Sena manages the front desk and all of the daily operations. She has also been with them for as long as I can remember. She is always so supportive and accommodating with scheduling and emergencies and somehow keeps everything straight. If your furry one is on a special diet, Kathy keeps up with the inventory and ordering so make sure she knows of any changes to your pet's requirements. When you enter this building, you can tell that it is truly a home-grown, part-of-the-family business. They maintain costs so that their pricing is still very reasonable. In fact, you should still write a check so that they don't have the overhead fees of credit cards if you can. Every little bit helps. Scheduling is still done by hand in a calendar, and they don't have computers or fancy software. They did get a paint refresh several years ago and a lobby make-over. This is not the place if you're looking to be impressed by the glitz and glamour found at some vet offices. The sparkle and shine comes from the service you and your loved ones will receive here. They aren't going to run a bunch of unnecessary expensive tests just to drive up revenues. They will however perform all tests and provide any treatments deemed appropriate. They still perform surgeries on site, can do x-rays, etc, but will refer you elsewhere if they feel you might receive more comprehensive care some place else. My family started going here when I was very young and I have stayed with them ever since. They have never disappointed me or let me down with the care they provided. In fact, they have gone way above what was expected. I always refer people here and have brought in other friends with their animals when they weren't getting proper care elsewhere. If you are looking for veterinarian services with a down-home flare, where you feel as though you are part of their family, and your fur babies will be treated as if they belong to them, don't look any further. Sea Islands is for you!
