GREAT food, large portions, reasonable prices. The Cream of Crab soup is some of the best in Baltimore... I love their Crab Pretzel and Crab Dip too. My favorite is their Quesadilla (which would feed 2 people). If you order the sampler platter (which I think is like $13) you could EASILY feed 2-3 people off of just that. They have specials 7 days a week and Ravens game day specials. They even have a Steak Night Special, the same night that they host TRIVIA! Not ideal for huge parties of people... but if you have 3-4 people it'll work perfect. I haven't had a meal here, that I wasn't happy with in the end. We've had the Cream of Crab where it seemed like every bite was shells. But we told the staff and they took it off of our bill and gave us drink chips (for comp'd drinks). It tasted great, it just had a lot of shells (but you'll get that with a lot of crab dishes, anywhere). Great place with tons of great food. The prices are reasonable, and the bartender, who has been there for a long while, is very nice as well. Went there while vacationing in this part of Baltimore, and I enjoyed karaoke from DJ Mark, as he has an interesting approach to karaoke with fun little sound effects and such; he's a trip! Atmosphere-wise, it's your stereotypical bar feel but more welcoming. From my experience that day, the bar was a lot more popular than the dining. And the food was delicious! Where I live, they're called beach fries, but up in Baltimore, I guess they're called Downey Ocean fries; I had a pulled chicken sandwich with that. And the food was quick. My only complaint was that kitchen staff with long hair have their hair all out; if you get hair in your food (which I didn't) that's why. Otherwise, love the place. read more

Consistency is important in everything. If karaoke has been slated for mondays, that's when regulars expect it. When Ocean fries are tasty last week, they shouldn't be burnt to a crisp this week. If it's 4pm at the beginning of the week, there should be no reason why Chicken tenders aren't in house, when they were there last week at 5pm. Very disappointed. read more

I went here with a LARGE group (23 men) of old friends. Service was very slow but I'm sure the size of the group I was with didn't help. Although, reservations were made so they knew to expect a larger than normal crowd. I had the fish and chips which were burnt to a crisp. It was awful. So I'm at a new work location in Essex and see the menu for PatRicks (named after owners Pat and Rick). Nothing too striking except that the food is cheap and they always have happy hour specials. A few hours later I'm waiting for the bus home and while playing on my new smart phone thingy I find that this place is 3 doors down from the bus stop so I decide to go in for a drink. Yes. This was exactly how I thought it would be. I walked in to a large square bar filled with the finest middle aged folk in Essex and there's only one seat left at the bar. Immediately I felt like a fish out of water in my shirt and tie in this crowd but no worries. Everyone seems to be having a good time. I order a $1.75 Budweiser draft and chill. After I knock the bar twice and take my first gulp the guy next to me asks "How's that first sip of the day?" With that I practically deflate and say "Oh my god it's the best part of my day!" And like that I become part of the bar with conversation and chuckles for the rest of my stay. I hear that the food is good here. I also hear that it's hit or miss. You could get prime rib or fatty gristle but the shrimp salad sammich you can't make at home for this cheap. Another round later my bartender circles the bar and drops a small plastic shot cup in front of everyone saying "Keith" as she goes. Apparently this Keith character just came in and bought the whole bar a round and we're talking upwards of 30 people. Thanks, Keith! This was one of the friendliest, don't-judge-a-book-by-it's-cover bars I've been into in a while. Although I stood out like a turd in a punch bowl I was part of the cast of characters by the time I left. I'll most certainly stop back in here again for a decompression beer after work. This is such an old traditional bar/grill. It's definitely not an ideal place for young people. Also the service is mediocre, the servers can't even pronounce their specials. A lot of food is made homemade, however they fail at making it a delicious homemade meal. The only reason why I'm giving them a 2 is because you can't beat a 2/$1 taco Monday. read more

I stopped there last week with my friend, it was my 1st time there, we were getting lunch, I wanted to post a comment about my food, I got a hot turkey sandwich OMG !!! it was so good !!! and the fries were like thrashers on the boardwalk! there was one problem I had, the guy who brought our food out didn't have the gravy on my fries I thought wuld be turkey, so he came back with a bowl of whipped up beef gravy, for my fries that are with my hot TURKEY lol , the beef gravy was not very good the turkey gravy was very good! the barmaid was SO nice !!!!! I cant wait to move up there I will definitely be coming back to get more fries !!! not to sure about the beef gravy though lol read more

In the last year I've been to PatRicks maybe a half dozen times. Haven't been impressed with rum and cokes but decided beer was just as good. Food has always been pretty decent but went there for dinner tonight and I'll probably not go back. Ordered the cream of crab which has ZERO crab in it, also ordered the special bowl of chili with cornbread. Well I got a cup of chili (no cornbread) which had a moldy taste to it...ugh. We sat at the end of the bar surrounded by some chatty type locals who seemed pretty friendly. My boyfriend ordered steamed shrimp with extra Old Bay, and I ordered their lasagna special. The shrimp were reheated rather than fresh steamed, & still slightly cold. Not to mention they tasted a little "off." When he said something to the bartender (Holly, maybe???) she actually TOOK ONE OFF HIS PLATE in front of us and ate it. She offered to replace them, and he agreed, but the second plate wasn't any better. She asked if he wanted anything else and actually told him just don't order the shrimp again next time he comes back (if??) because he's the only one that had a problem with them. Not once did she apologize. The lasagna was a better success, but it was also reheated, and also cold in the center. She took it back to have them reheat it some more, and what I got back was a plate of exploded marinara because all the sauce made a mess on the plate when they nuked it. The common sense thing to do ---I would think--- is to put the food ON A CLEAN PLATE...but that didn't happen here. Smh. Flavor-wise, it was good, & the portion was large, & the price was reasonable ($7-ish, with garlic bread). I guess my biggest hang up was the bartender's attitude. It's been probably 6 months since we visited (slow to get this review posted), but we have not even back since. If it had been more recent, I'm sure I would go into my normally verbose description... Consider this the abridged version, haha. My recommendation, just don't have high hopes and you won't be disappointed. Parking is limited...either use he tiny lot in the back, or use the street in front. read more

My name is Michelle, and I just had the Best Birthday Party everrrr at Patrick's--hands down. Tina the owner was attentive from the very first phone call to finish. She made sure my wish was her command. She genuinely gave her everything in making sure my event was a success, and it was. My guest had the best time of their life doing Karaoke, and they just loved the atmosphere. The bartenders was extraordinary, and the patrons were super friendly. We was like 1 big happy family. The atmosphere was AWESOME. The prices for the food and drinks were not pricey at all, fairly priced and delicious. It was definitely a Win Win, and ALL of my guest enjoyed their selves.
