Spring broke on middle garage door. Doors were thirty years old and beginning to show their age; I thought it might be time to replace them. I called Patrick to discuss my options. He came out and looked over the doors and suggested that we could replace the broken spring and quoted a very reasonable price. Even when he knew I was potentially in the market for new doors, he did not try to upsell me, but rather pointed out that the existing doors still had some life left in them. But at my request he showed me what replacements could look like. The photos of the doors he had available were beautiful and we decided to go ahead and order three new doors and give the house a facelift. Once we had put a deposit on the new doors, he offered to replace the broken spring on my old door for no additional charge so that we could continue to use that garage bay while we waited for delivery of the new doors. Very generous and thoughtful! New doors arrived and were installed today and I could not be happier. Patrick was great to deal with throughout: professional, courteous, skilled and willing to explain all our options. The price was very fair and the house looks terrific with its new garage doors. We just moved to the area and I needed two garage door openers installed. Based on the reviews here, we called Patrick and I'm very glad we did. He and his team were perfect and I trust them completely to deal with any garage door/opener installation/repairs that come up in the future. Please forgive the long winded details that follow, but read on if interested... On my initial call, Patrick and I discussed several openers that I had researched and wanted installed. At my request, we discussed the pros and cons of these various garage door openers and another one he recommended that I was not aware of. Based based upon our needs and his experiences, we settled on two different garage door openers. He ordered them and installed them in 3 working days for a reasonable cost - very refreshing after moving here from another major metropolitan area. The openers worked great, being operated multiple times a day, for 6 weeks, then, very late one Friday evening, one of the opener cables turned into a rat's nest on the spool and the door would not close. I called and left a message. Then, when I attempted to manually release/close the door, it got caught on a cable causing the door to twist and bend the door rails - oh boy, I'm in trouble now - this is going to be expensive. Patrick called at 7:30 AM on Saturday morning and came right out to deal with it by 9 AM even though he had other plans. Very surprising for me as I did not expect to get service until Monday. He was able to salvage/realign the door and get the rails repaired (which he did for free). A 17 year old cable was also found to be frayed and we agreed to replace them for his standard cable replacement charge. Even though he did not say so, from watching the repair work and door tuning required, I suspect the problem was most likely related to the previous door installation (which was not performed by Patrick's Garage Door Company), but he fixed that anyway too for no additional cost. So in summary: Patrick and his team provide fast, responsive, professional, and thorough service. He has great guys working on his team who know what they are doing and he totally stands behind the work of his company. His rates are real reasonable too! I recently had some work done by Patrick's Garage Door Company. My problem was that the little wheels attached to the door that hold onto the track were falling off. I was fully expecting to have to replace the whole door. I called Patrick's as I like to patronize locally owned businesses. When I called to make the appointment, the lady who answered the phone was super polite and they able to offer very fast response. They actually could have come out sooner than I was able to accommodate the visit. I was able to schedule a visit that was perfect for my schedule--8 a.m. The repair man was also very friendly, very knowledgeable. John was very clean cut and professional looking. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain to me what was going wrong, gave me information on repairing the door versus buying a new one and was able to make the needed repairs very quickly and much to my surprise--the job cost a lot less than I had expected. One of our garage torsion springs broke. The garage door shaft was bent in the process. We called up Patrick for an estimate and he was very honest and fair. About a year ago I had Patrick out to replace one of my broken door springs, he of course recommended both and quoted a good price, satisfied. The issue and point of the review = My sensors were acting up recently, long story short after three visits (only paid for one and they provided two follow ups no charge) where they were unable to remedy, Patrick suggested I contact the maker of the opener (Precision). They (Precision) came and identified the sensors needing replaced. Having had to pay another service fee plus parts and labor, I contacted Patricks again. Thank you for your reply, Patrick's garage door. I realize that my opener is old, bit the unit still works. As far as safety sensors, I explained that since we had no kids or animals, it didn't matter. The young man initially told me he should install a new opener. When I said no, he said he could "throw on a new chain" but had to check with his dad first. Then came back and said his dad didn't want to be bothered. Why, when we all are (or should all be) trying to conserve and recycle, would this company refuse to repair so i would not have to junk my old opener? It still works. I understand your business can pick and choose your customers, but I wonder if maybe you didn't like veterans and decided to discriminate? We decided to have our garage door replaced. Last time this was done in a previous home, we had a very bad garage door installation that fell apart, and vendor would not even come back to look at the problem or make it right. We moved into a new (to us) house this past winter and in 4 months, the springs in the garage door broke. I called Patrick (found him in the phone book!) He came out gave me a quote on the EXACT garage door as the other companies did and told me to get an opener from Sears. After the chain on my door came off I call Patrick's. They told me they had someone in the area with another customer and indicated they could come out that day. When they showed up they asked to borrow a ladder. Then, after telling me they had all the parts necessary to do the job on the truck, the serviceman indicated he had to add an extra $50.00 charge because he had to drive so far. I mentioned that Skye had already told me he had been working in the area. His answer was that they would require that customer to pay extra for driving time too. We were having some window film installed on our garage doors and thought what the heck, let's get our annual garage door(s) checkup. Called Patrick's and low and behold they were available to come by the same day! Young man came by at the appointed time and started the inspection. He found that the springs needed adjustments on both doors. Then he checked all the braces and tightened all of them including two bolts that were not the right type from the original door install. Finally he showed me all the proper lube points and how much to apply. He left the unused portion He also mentioned that the type rollers that came with the door don't have bearings and if we wanted he could replace them, which we decided to do. The doors will run quieter and smoother with bearing type rollers. Then the young man from Boston asked if we had any more question, we had none as he covered all of them while doing his inspection. We just bought a house and the garage door spring broke. We called our home warranty company and they sent out Patrick's Garage Door Co. Patrick himself came out for our job. He not only replaced the spring for us, but helped us figure out why our remotes weren't working, too. He found that our garage door opener was very old (still functioning, but not for long) and reported that back to our home warranty co. Patricks did a poor job installing my opener. It was on a third door I seldom used but after a few months it was obviously done wrong. Instead of coming out and correcting it they chose to argue with me, inform me that it would be a $90 charge to come and look at it and that it would void the warranty if I fixed it myself. I took about 15 minutes to fix the installation myself, going by what my two other doors looked like. I did not need them and didn't need the arguing. About seven years ago I had to have the springs on my garage door replaced - which I did with another company. They also said I needed a new opener, which they installed and left with the new operating button. I had to chase them down to get them to install it so I could turn the light on the new opener. I called Patrick's yesterday & received a phone response within a very short period of time. I have a 44 yr old garage door with a fancy new door opener, but every time I opened & closed the door, I would get a loud clank. Therefore, knew I needed some repairs on the old girl. They came out today & fixed the initial problem, but noted that I needed several other repairs to make the door safe. They were wonderful at explaining things and the price was very reasonable. Cleanup was awesome & I also asked them to help me tie my car in with the garage door opener. After much frustration because of the repeater kit I had, they finally got it to work at no great extra cost.
