There are not that many Japanese maple trees or maybe we were just too late in May. We went May 16 to see the full bloom, however, there were still some trees in bloom and it was very pretty and it smelled good. The area is well kept where the garden is but when you venture off into one side, it's a dark tunnel with spray paint all over. People were still running through it so I'm assuming it's a safe area. it's across the street from an art museum and the Japanese garden is a part of another history museum. Overall, I would say go because it is a pretty area with free parking, just missing a star because I thought it was going to be much larger with more history.

Because I'm a big fan, in fact this is where I played some of the biggest soccer games of my amateur grown-up life once I moved to Buffalo. Under the floodlights late in the evening, playing for the Eagles, we had some great moments here. Through balls, defensive blocks, epic crosses, and a very famous last minute goal by JG (hey if you're reading, that was an awesome strike!), and those memories will last forever. I actually felt like an American on those nights. Like I'd never been born and raised in a pessimistic negative rough and harsh society like I was. As if I'd been one of the dreamers, the Hollywood kids, the baseball kids, the cotton candy Kool Aid kids, and yes I must have been drinking the Kool Aid before writing this. It has various bleacher seats set up for what are presumably soccer games, based on the goals. There are picnic tables under a covered area. Nice for a hot sunny day. Small playground area. A shockingly well maintained park…read more Beautiful trails that go deep in the woods. My family was chased by raccoons once. I went yesterday and multiple people were taking photos of the foliage. And a really nice big playground. They have subtle but cute Christmas lights display when the season comes. And their softball league is run better than MLB. Shout out to the Cheektowaga rec department for this gem.

It was renamed in 1977. Sadly the park was partially destroyed to build the Kensington Expressway. Prior to that it was connected to Delaware Park. IN recent years the park has had some much needed renovation. The wading po0l is back in use and there is skating in the winter when the weather allows. The park does have the typical basketball courts, tennis courts and playgrounds one expects. There are nice picnic tables and plenty of shade. This is a park to think about as you plan a trip to the Science Museum. weather permitting, its a nice outdoor space with easy parking and well managed grounds.

Bidwell Park is a park that's part of the Olmsted Park system in Buffalo. Following it down leads…read moreyou to a few statues and eventually it flows into Delaware Park. It's basically a kept lawn and open space to gather. In the summertime, you'll see people laying out here in blankets, musicians, acroyoga practitioners and a farmer's market that takes place every Saturday. In the winter -- it's pretty dead, aside from all the free residential parking that you can find. During the summertime, the Elmwood Village Association puts together a weekly event on Tuesdays as a community gathering with live music and food. I definitely enjoy Bidwell Park in the warmer weather months. It's a great place to people watch or to get a blanket and curl up in the city, or to walk through it to get to the next park...Delaware Park -- and just keep going until you go through all of the Olmsted Park System!

Hamlin Park is a staple site of East Aurora. There is a volleyball court, a hardball baseball…read morediamond, a half-mile track, tennis and pickleball courts, a multi-purpose field and more in the vicinity and lots of kids having fun, running around. I learned the park is 16 acres large and has been around since 1899! The old trees are a sight to see, and the area feels like you're right in nature. The playground is vast and somewhat outdated, but the kids don't seem to mind. Many events take place here, too, including performances by the Aurora Players Theater and the Rotary Bandstand. Cars aren't allowed, and parking is limited; you might have to find parking on one of the side streets. I noticed there are restrooms too, and a couple of picnic shelters. Leave your beer, your dog and your snowmobile at home; they're not allowed, along with some other items you might want to look up before venturing out. It's a great public park and worth a stopover to relax and enjoy nature on one of the benches or bring a picnic and enjoy your time at one of the picnic tables. Truly, something for everyone.

The park had vendors, people were picnicking, kids were playing, there was a band and baseball field. Hamlin Park was out of a Hallmark Movie. Hallmark should not only continue to use Viddler's as a location for movies, but should also include this park for a summer movie location. I'm not sure if this is a new park, or if it's had a little bit of an uplift, or if I've just never driven down this road before. What an absolutely lovely place to sit. You walk the memorials you see all kinds of information and the plaques have a lot of information on them. Whoever designed this park has done a lovely job.
