They also have a pizzeria conveniently located right next door, which is a nice bonus. The service was outstanding--Alessandro was the best! He recommended his signature cocktail, the Orange Cosmopolitan, and all I can say is WOW. Perfectly made and dangerously good--they definitely sneak up on you! He checked in on us throughout the evening, always friendly and engaging, which truly elevated the experience. The food was just as impressive: Pollo Milanese - a perfectly cooked chicken cutlet topped with fresh mozzarella, arugula, cherry tomatoes, onions, shaved Parmesan, and a bright lemon vinaigrette. Pollo Carbonara - topped with prosciutto, spinach, peppers, and fontina cheese, served over penne pasta. Alaska Chicken (special) - stuffed chicken with shrimp, roasted tomatoes, spinach, and cheese in a rich cream sauce, served with saffron risotto. Absolutely delicious. For dessert, we shared a toasted almond cake and a caramel cheesecake cone--paired with cappuccinos, of course. The perfect ending to a great meal. About last night... Our community has been doing a dinner club for over 4 years now. We were a group of 16 for our somewhat monthly get together. With a party that size, you have to order off the family style menu. You're given 2 choices. One is 65 and the other is 75 pp. We chose the $65 option which is good if your group isn't crazy about seafood. By the way,it also includes beer, wine and sangria. What we shared.. Margarita pizza,burrata,eggplant parm, fried Calamari and baked clams. All that came out at once. After a short break (thankfully), homemade tortellini pasta with a creamy sauce and peas. Went for lunch on a very snowy weekday in early Feb so not crowded at all. Service was fantastic -- attentive, warm, and friendly! Decor was great -- clearly ready for the Valentine's crowd. Lunch menu is too limited -- mostly chicken-based pasta dishes; clearly designed for ease of midday kitchen crew instead of best experience for customers. That's fair but not impressive -- similar to Olive Garden but with less variety and better ambience. When asked if I wanted parmesan on my gnocchi dish, my affirmative answer was met with production of the shakers available at all the pizza joints. That act alone stands out as an indicator that the food preparers cant be bothered to take the extra step to ensure their food is presented at its best. We left feeling we'd been to just another Italian restaurant in a nearby strip mall because the food didn't impress. Nothing special here. This is typical Italian fare as far as the food goes. They must have a phobia about making Italian food with any flavor. Bland is the key word here. Tried the pizza and other pasta dishes all were bland, attractive looking but bland. The town has many Italian restaurants so they need to up their game to stand out. We went to Pattizias on Easter Sunday so they had a limited menu. The service was excellent. The food was fantastic. We had the meatball appetizer. They were perfect. Just like my Italian mother in law made them. I had the papardelle Bolognese. My daughter had the chicken Parmigiana and my son in law had pasta in marinara sauce. We all loved the food. Unfortunately the ambiance was pretty bad. The acoustics are terrible and the noise was so bad we couldn't hear each other. The price I felt was pretty high for what we had. My family has been a fan of patrizias from staten island to red bank etc. I gave them a second chance today at the Matawan location and I regret it so. They beg for tips saying you haven't tipped enough etc.... chase you to the door to do so. Trashy behavior for an establishment. I always minimally double the tax, no less, at minimum, but if I see exceptional service 20%. But to complain about a $60 tip for the 2nd time on a bill around $400. Pause. They are by far the most expensive Patrizias of all of the rest for no reason. Check the reviews and stats. I'll gladly drive 20 minutes to red bank. I eat out with my family at least 3 times a week. We tried this place based on our positive experience at the sister location in Red Bank. Apparently this chain has gotten large enough that the experience is totally not the same. It was for my wife's birthday and we were a party of 8. First of all, our waiter was covering our table of 8, a large group of around 50 people. Not his fault but he was never at the table. We constantly had to ask for basics such as silverware or a clean plate. And if you don't ask for something, you won't get it here. The room was loud to the point where conversation was nearly impossible. By the way, the music they are blasting was random garbage they're playing off Youtube and the owner didn't even pay for premium so we listen to ads while sitting in this sweaty room! The room is dark, probably so you can't see the food. Speaking of food, We chose family style - the $75 option. Advertised to include a variety of appetizers pizza entrees etc. Well we were a table of 8 - received one medium sized pizza cut 8 ways. Not that I wanted to pay $75 per person and eat pizza, but that's all you get. Not even a large. Each person gets 1 slice and that's it. Calamari was plentiful - rubbery and way over breaded. Burrata tossed on a plate with bland generic tomato's. Octopus, of course they gave 1, yes just 1 burnt tentacle chopped up with a plate of potato's in a skillet for 8 people. Pasta which was actually decent probably because they didn't make it, was sufficient that each person could eat maybe 3 pieces max. At that point, I realized this place sucks. Multiple members of our party felt that we were being blatantly ripped off and expressed disgust. The restaurant manager came out shocked that we weren't thrilled with our single tentacle amongst 8 people. They offered if I'd like to order something off the menu - to which I respond no thanks since the food has no taste anyways. If you're going to offer family style, provide some actual food, not a tiny plate leaving your guests hungry. This is not "Italian Family Style" in the least when you are making ceremony about taking a slice of pizza because you want the other guy to have something to eat! I went home and ate after this dinner! I hate to trash a business but this place is terrible. The service is horrible. The food is mediocre at best, everything is overly breaded and tasteless. I went to dinner here for a birthday last night and the hospitality we experienced was so refreshing! It's rare to find a place makes you feel like family as soon as you walk in. The food was absolutely overpriced and not worth it for what it is, way worse than other Italian and Portuguese places nearby. The portions were on the smaller side but good quality. What really annoyed me was raising the prices after the first month.
