This is a review for their tailoring only. $35 for a single pair of pants is highway robbery. When we called to ask about pricing, we were quoted "well our regulars know our prices." The staff is always very friendly and they have always handled my expensive wardrobe without any issues. They do charge more than most dry cleaners; however, the accessibility over the weekend and evening hours justify the price for someone like me who works M-F 9-5pm. read more

I know they're in Manhattan beach and all going there are making 100k plus but dang.. if you're not a richy rich stay far away. Ruined my favorite shirt by ripping it and then lied and told me it was that way when I dropped it off. They even tried to repair it as it had some stitching in the ripped area. Lady with makeup told me I ripped it and then tried to sew it before I brought it to them. Only leaving a bad review because of the blatant lie. Things happen but take accountability. read more

The one star is for ROSIE. I used to go to Patterson cleaners all the time. It's convenient. But prices keep changing and I would question that and I was scolded by ROSIE saying that I am picky. I tried to talk to her and she would walk away from me. I find that really rude and unacceptable as a customer. When I was in High School, Patterson Cleaners took care of all 100+ marching band uniforms every single year! They were super clean and the uniforms were very old by the time I was wearing them but you honestly wouldn't have known with how well they took care of them. We also used to play Christmas carols in front of their shop every December and they were always very sweet people. read more

Best cleaners I have found in the South Bay. Are they expensive - yes, but if you want to feel as close to 100% confident that your clothes will be taken care of, then this is the place for you. Customer service cannot be beat - every member of the staff is friendly and courteous. The location is convenient to most of MB. Turnaround time is great - getting things back same day has never been an issue. Parking can be a bit of an issue, though rarely is this the case. One of my biggest praises for Patterson relates to buttons. My dress shirts all have natural buttons, which tend to be more fragile than synthetic ones. In the past I have laundered my shirts at "high end" cleaners that have destroyed buttons, even on brand new shirts, only to replace them with thinner, cheap looking, plastic ones. Since using Patterson I have only had 2 buttons crushed - unfortunately I received the shirts back with neither replaced, indicating they could do a better quality control job at the end of the process. Why 4 rather than 5 stars? Perfection is difficult. Also over the course of the past 3 years I have used Patterson on a few occasions I have brought clothes home only to find that they have stains or marks they did not at the time they were dropped off. This has happened less than 10 times, and other than what looks like a bleach spot on the front of a blue dress shirt, everything has come out. Is Patterson perfect? No. But as previously stated perfection is a difficult (if not impossible) thing to achieve. Given the volume of clothes they handle, Patterson does about as good of a job as you will find anywhere. Just remember: you sometimes get what you pay for. So if you spend a lot of money on your clothes and want them to look their best and last, don't be be cheap with your cleaners as all dry cleaners are not equal. read more

We live in the Beach Cities and Patterson is the best there is. The only caveat is that our comforters and blankets have a perfumey smell after dry cleaning. I suspect it's from the solvents they use or perhaps the items are not completely dry before they're plastic wrapped. Not perfect, but fantastic on clothes. Rosie is the best! read more

I've both dry cleaned and had laundered a variety of articles here, from formal dresses to work blazers and dresses to a pricey down comforter, and have always had my items treated with excellent care and returned in ideal condition. For the area, the prices are very reasonable, the turnaround is quick, and the staff is friendly and always remembers me. My husbands family has been coming here probably since they opened. I honestly have no idea how long because I've only been here twice now. SOMEHOW they remember who I am after only meeting them ONCE! Here is my review relating to my last visit: Husband drops off dry cleaning Wednesday and I go to pick it up Saturday afternoon. I'm helped right away and my items are found right away. I'm expecting this to be around 60 or 70 bones. Items were: 1 men's suit (jacket and pants), 1 men's dress shirt, 1 ladies dress, 1 ladies pants, 1 belt. Total came out to only 50. Nice, not only nice but right when I walk in I hear "Are you Mrs. Fxxxxx new daughter in law?". I'm like WHOA. After I say yes, she hands me all the clothes, I pay, and I'm off. I've met this woman once, like months ago, maybe even a year! Great customer service and great prices! Be careful about parking. The lot is a little small in front. They do a great job with my delicate garments that I don't dare try and clean myself. I usually see the same woman when I pick up and drop off, which is nice to know that they aren't churning through labor because people are stealing clothes out the back door. Prices are affordable, and they will match any other cleaner discounts and coupons. In case you're lazy like me, they'll do some auto-coupon thing where they must have some mind reading machine that prices the highest you're willing to pay but is low enough that you won't leave. On pretty picky with dry cleaners. I often am convinced they just steam but not thoroughly clean. I finally found cleaners I trust. Rosie rums the place and works harder than anyone I know. Stains pointed out come out, pressed perfectly, amid timely according to your needs. Open 7 Days makes it beyond convenient. Price is a bit higher but absolutely the quality. I took a pillow to this cleaners which had no stains just some smell of sweat and odors. I pointed this out when I took the pillow for dry cleaning - they said nothing about those smells will not come out because they use an organic cleaner- so I had them clean it. Well - $25 later - the smells are still there and I have wasted $25 dollars. I will never go to that dry cleaner again - I feel they are dishonest and,did a terrible job. read more

Warning: They shrink your clothes. Rosie is sweet, and she's always there, but they shrunk several of my work clothes and always had a reason why it was my fault ... the poor quality of fabric (Tahari, Theory, Reiss - I don't think so), or that I perspired and the moisture caused shrinkage. I believe they're over-steaming garments, but it cost me over $1000 in the end in clothes I couldn't wear. They refused to take any responsibility. I bought a replacement Theory dress identical to the one they shrunk and showed them the before and after, and they still came up with reasons it wasn't their fault. Working out payment still. I know there are others who must have similar issues because it happened so often. My suggestion: Go elsewhere. read more

I have been going to Patterson Cleaners since I moved to Manhattan Beach 10 years ago. The quality of work is superb and the chemicals are non-toxic. The highlight is that Rosie and the rest of the staff know my name and phone number by heart so, as soon as I walk in the door, they are ready to find my dry cleaning. My husband has been coming her to have all of his work shirts laundered and suits cleaned for at least 20 or 30 years. I will not go any place else. I don't necessarily recommend them for serious alterations, but they do a fine job hemming slacks or skirts. If I need serious tailoring, I go to Burdj (sp?) in downtown MB and pay way too much money, but get good quality. read more
