Too pricey, they overcharge for the dry cleaning! It wasn't even an expedited order for next day turn around. I Paid $60 for them to clean 3 small items in 4-5 business days. Mimi's cleaners is great! I brought a couple of work uniforms in for alterations. They were a bit defective and I was turned away by another tailor. She wasn't sure if it could be fixed but did alter in a way to lessen the issue. Other than that, taking in and hemming looks great and it fits much better. Mimi was really nice. I'm so disappointed with this cleaners. I've been coming here for years. First, the lady almost gave my wedding dress away because she didn't call the correct person, then she made my fluffy Pottery Barn blanket no longer fluffy, and now she made the collar of my sweater pink when it was white. She was never sorry or apologetic to all of this. Do not come here! She won't even refund you. BRIDES- DO NOT TAKE YOUR DRESS HERE! After being a customer for years, I thought I could trust Mimi and the team to steam my wedding dress. I was wrong. GO TO A PROFESSIONAL. After having my dress custom fitted and bustle sewed by a professional seamstress, Mimi's team steamed off the buttons needed for the bustle! When I took the dress back to discuss with her, she become offended and called me, a loyal customer of years, a LIAR. Mimi cost me almost the entire happy hour of my wedding as my friends had to find a solution for the ruined bustle on my wedding day and the train was not well secured for photos/dancing. Mimi treated the situation as if I was the villain, trying to pull one over on a small business owner, when in fact I reasonably asked for a refund or free cleaning of the dress. INCREDIBLY unimpressed with how this was handled by the owner of the business. She has lost my business forever. read more

Searched them on Yelp and chose them to get my dress cleaned for a wedding I had. I did this very last minute and walked in on a Wednesday afternoon and needed the dress by that Friday. She had my dress cleaned within 24 hours and I was able to pick it up on Thursday. She is very nice and responsive. Great at what they do and the prices are very reasonable. Parking was easy, they have a 10 min reserved parking spot right in front of their business which made it easy to park quickly. If you need something dry cleaned on a very short notice this is the place! Will definitely be coming back. read more

While I've used their service several times in the past, most recently I brought a suit in I hadn't worn since my wedding day (over 3 years ago). I had spilled some red wine on the jacket the night of the wedding, tossed it in the bag after, and hadn't thought of it since. I am extremely upset. I gave Mimi multiple chances to get it right. We recently moved down to Redondo and needed a new cleaners. Her ratings were the highest nearby so we decided to try them out. In November my boyfriend said he was missing 2 nice shirts of his. We couldn't find the receipt so we thought maybe we left them some place else. We moved on. Last week, I brought in 27 pieces of clothing. A very big order. I came to pick them up on Saturday. I came first thing in the morning as we were rushing out to a funeral and needed his suit, so I trusted her word and assumed it was all there and planned to check later. On Saturday evening, I received a call from Mimi sounding flabbergasted and worried. She wouldn't tell me what was wrong but asked if I could come into the store. I told her I was out to dinner and agreed to come in Sunday afternoon. I went home and discovered I had 3 pieces of clothing in that batch that were not mine!! So I came in on Sunday and had to go through an entire rack of clothing to pick out which pieces were mine and brought back someone else's. I took someone else's clothes home!!! What?! ‍ She apologized profusely and I thought there was no way she could mess up again after THAT. So we brought in 11 more pieces on Wednesday that were promised back yesterday evening. Today, I come in to pick them up at 3:30pm. Again she's frazzled. The clothes aren't ready and my boyfriend and I came in together to ensure it was all there. Sure enough. We were missing his very expensive Theory button down!!!! We are still here (I'm so upset I'm in the car writing this review because I clearly wouldn't have had anything nice to say), but we've been waiting for 30 minutes for a delivery to bring his white shirt over. Almost 24 hours after the promised time. And the crazy part! She comes to the front and says "11 pieces. All here!!" There were 10 and we were missing his shirt. Why say that if you aren't sure?! ‍ Never again. I'm floored that one establishment with so many amazing reviews could be so negligent with a single account. Repeatedly. Like most of you, I read reviews on Yelp to find the best place to take my clothes to get dry cleaned. I saw Mimi's Cleaners had some great reviews and decided to take a suit and two shirts in. I went on Monday to drop off the suit and she told me to come back Thursday after 5pm. When I came back Thursday evening to pick up my dry cleaning, she paced around the store and kept uttering "we have a problem" and needless to say she had not dry cleaned any of it. She told me to come back in 10 minutes and when I did, there was the suit along with the two shirts. After inspecting the clothes, I found that it was neatly ironed but not cleaned at all. She offered to give me a discount for the troubles...My total went from $21 to $20. Some discount. Definitely don't recommend this place unless you want to waste your time. read more

I used to go to Bright Cleaners out of convenience but after a bad experience, I went looking for another place to alter my clothes. She has the best prices in Southbay for alterations. Trust me! I expected to pay $60 for 2 pants and a skirt with lining. I walked out paying $39 and she made sure i had my clothes done by the next day! Go here. You won't regret it. Wow, after the good reviews my wife and I thought we would give it a shot. Mimi was helpful when we dropped off a new dress to be altered. (Worn in the store only) and my suit. Suit came back ok... Not the best cleaning and the shirt steamed but dirty. Her dress came back with a pen mark on the back next to a HORRIBLE stitch job. And a seam that was torn to make the alteration but not reattached all the way. When we pointed out these flaws. She said we made the pen mark and would not fix the seam even tho it was still in the plastic! When I called to talk to her about it after I had a chance to look at it thoroughly. She said she had customers and said she would not fix it. I am astonished by their lack of professionalism and customer service. read more

Overall not happy with Miss Mimi! I have been a regular client the last six months. When I drop off clothes, I usually have a bag full of work shirts/slacks that need dry cleaned. I negotiated a discount with Mimi at 30% for all dry cleaning. The first few times it was an automatic 30% discount applied to my total costs. I then noticed that she randomly reduced my discount from 30% to 20%. So, that was disappointing. A few other things to complain about...I dropped off a Burberry tie with a drink stain. When I picked up my tie, the stain was huge! It looks like a big water spot. The tie is in worse condition after I brought it to the Dry CLEANERS. Furthermore, I brought Mimi a pair of jeans to patch up at the knees. Her assistant did an awful job! It looked like Stevie Wonder tried to sew. I asked Mimi if she thinks this looks professional. Mimi took the jeans back for her assistant do it again. Second time around, no better. I donated the jeans. It's unfortunate that I have been given the run around with discounts, and shatty sew jobs. I try to shop local all the time! But, I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere read more

Do not use this place! I brought in a fairly new dress shirt I had worn no more than 5-6 times. They returned it with two large tears. The owner claimed they didn't damage the shirt and that I brought it in that way. Even though I would have easily noticed two large tears. They wouldn't pay for the shirt, so I'm out $60. There are plenty of other cleaners in the area...I recommend using any of them instead. read more

This place is absolutely amazing! I have been looking for a cleaner in South Bay that I can trust. This place was the 4th place I tried and I'm glad that I did! The very first time I took shirts and dresses here, one of the shirt came back with a big stain left which I totally forgot to tell Mimi. She saw it and she said 'let me try again' and she took that shirt back and magically cleaned it!! (It was a huge melted butter stain. This place is FANTASTIC! I moved to Hermosa about 7 months ago and tried 4 other cleaners that disappointed. Two of the other cleaners didn't crease my pants as I had stressed was very important, one only had part of my order ready on the day I was to pick it up, and the fourth didn't do a good job with the collars of my husband's shirts. After the 4 bad experiences, I looked for a new place on Yelp (which I should have done initially) and found Mimi's. I figured I'd give it a shot and am glad I did! I got a call the day I dropped off my pile of dry cleaning to confirm my crease preferences (seriously the most important thing to me, silly as it sounds). When I went to pick up the pile, every piece was accounted for and perfectly crisp. The prices were more than fair and women's pants/ blouses were a couple bucks cheaper than other places. I've been back 3 times now and every order had been perfect and all employees have been super nice. I'd definitely recommend this business for any dry cleaning or shoe repair needs! This place is awesome. The place I was using before was not getting the job done any more. Work shirts were wrinkled, they didn't always have my cloths done on time, etc. Mimi's was great. I walked in and dropped off my cloths. Was greeted by a very nice lady who took my shirts and got me in and out When I went to collect my cloths she pointed out a small ink stain on one of my white shirts. She said they tried to take it out. To be honest if she hadn't pointed it I'm not sure I would have noticed it all. They did a really good job getting it out given it was ink and all. They even removed a receipt from one of my suit pockets and wrapped it in a bag. As it turns out I needed that receipt for an expense report. What could have easily something they could have thrown away and not said anything, instead they went the extra mile to make sure I got back a simple receipt from a business trip.. I had to review! I have been going to Mimis Cleaners for over 8 years! This place is a must for me and all my friends! I read a couple of reviews that spoke negatively about the phone manners of the owners...I called once and they were abrupt...I was shocked because these owners love everybody! I think they hate talking on the phone because of cultural or language barriers....They remember my name and smile when I come in even though I only go in 4 times a year! They always do a phenomenal job on my clothes...they do minor repairs on my dry cleaning for free and the have done repairs on my husbands pants when they split or the pockets blow out...I feel sad when I read bad reviews for this cleaners because I know they are the best...I travel over 7 miles to go there rather than local shops...They are worth every penny I have ever spent there! read more

I spent a year trying different cleaners around the area until I settled on Mimi's. They are very nice here and always have your things finished when they say it will be ready. The big difference for me was that they listen to you and get your stuff done the way you ask for it. I had a hell of a time getting other places to box and fold my things, and the starch levels on dress shirts at other places randomly change apparently based on how they decided it should be done. I dropped off men's shirts to be laundered. When I picked them up I was given someone else's shirt. When I let the cleaners know she showed me that she wrote my last name in the shirt so it was ours. It is not ours because it is a Nordstrom brand shirt and we do not shop at Nordstroms. Also, it is not my husband's size shirt. They did no further research to try to locate the rightful owner AND find my husband's shirt. They didn't seem to care. I told them if they weren't going to find my husband's shirt then I would donate that shirt to Salvation Army and no longer do business with Mimi's Cleaners.
