Dr Dalton and staff were professional and attentive. Upon arriving I was greeted by friendly front desk employees. The wait was less than 5 minutes. The examine from start to finish was detailed and thorough. Examine equipment was up to date and clean. As a matter of fact I saw it cleaned before and after use. The optical center is staffed with knowledgeable and talented professionals. The manager evaluated my prescription and insurance and made some wonderful eyeglass suggestions. She has many styles and top rated manufacturers to choose from. I did not feel rushed, but felt comfortable trying on many different styles and colors. read more

Seriously questionable business and billing practices. Read the other negative reviews. Same happened to me. It appears if they can bill your medical insurance, they will without telling you they are doing it. This results in higher copays and deductibles. Front staff is foul mouth and not knowledgeable and seemingly forced into billing that they know is wrong. Avoid at all cost or ask what everything cost as they do it. I will be contacting previous patients to see if they are interested in a class action law suit in addition to calling the AG. read more

Due to Covid, I was behind on my annual check up and contact prescription. Patterson Eye Clinic staff spent two hours checking my everything! We updated my prescription, dyed my eyes, got new contacts for trial, did all the tests, & they took a photo inside of my eye & explained the whole photo. I got a freakin biology lesson about optic nerves! They really took the time to be thorough & show me they care about me & my eye health--NOT like my past docs who made me feel like I was on a human conveyor belt. I even ran out the door & forgot my wallet so I couldn't pay at the counter. They were very kind & patient with me. I can't recommend Patterson Eye Clinic enough. read more

This was my first visit after leaving a practice I had been with for over 10 years. The desk staff, the doctor's assistant, and the doctor were amazing. They did baseline testing, taking time to make sure that I was comfortable with the process. And, when I initially called, the receptionist was extremely helpful and identified a time fairly quickly that would work for me, as well as checking my insurance coverage. First I will say that the Dr I saw at Patterson eye clinic appears to no longer be at that office. I wish to hell I had NEVER gone there. and wish even more I had walked out and refused to let him do what he did. I had a rare side effect from cataract surgery (not done in Richmond) The IOL s calcified. I had already seen a dr that told me about it. He assured me it was calcification on the lense. That is rare. it's on both lens. I told this to the dr I was seeing. He just absolutely insisted after examining me it was Not one the lense. He spent some time talking with me assuring me that what another dr has seen was Not calcification and that he was mistaken. He just insisted he could use the laser to clear it up. He was so insistent that I gave in, He said that often a secondary cataract will form on the back of the eye capsule and that the laser can put tiny pinpoint holes in it to let the light thru and vision clears up instantly. No sooner than he started He stops and says... "You were right' and Then says there is calcification on the lense. I did not realize it until later, But this dope just made my chances of getting an explant highly risky. Explants carry more risk, BUT this joker made my risk a lot greater that my eye capsule could collaspe. and I end up blind and losing my eye. Now my vision is even worse. He was so cocky. Telling me that ..."IF I had an explant and a new lense, That would be "HIS" decision and when "he" would do it. I asked him if he'd every done it before and he says..."Oh sure"... I just didn't believe him. I honestly think he was lying about it. read more

Definitely one of the better optometrists that I have been to in my life. The optometrist caught a condition in my eyes that none of my previous optometrists or even some academic opthamologists (eye doctor M.D.'s) missed. Was told to see an opthamologist for my "serious" condition, and the opthamologist was surprised that the optometrist took the time to actually look throughout my eyes. Only reason is that they didn't get 5 stars is that the glasses selection was not the best, but it's hard to compare to a large California optometrist. But still, the selection is quite respectable; just wish that they had more. read more

Very professional looking office but kind of cold atmosphere. The tech actually did most of the work and she was great. The eye doctor was pleasant but I didn't get the warm and fuzzies. While they did a thorough exam I was missing that warm, family atmosphere and one of the receptionists at the front desk looked very tatooed which turned me off even though I like tattoos. Perhaps a more professional attire would cover it better. I was concerned about my Rx and called to verify that my axis had changed that much and the male tech I spoke with sounded a bit irritated with me. So much for customer service. I gave them 4 stars for their thoroughness and professionalism at the office but I probably won't go back for the reasons listed above. read more

I am a new patient and yesterday was my first appointment. I cannot stop talking about this place and recommending it to people. I have never had such a thorough exam in my life. The receptionists were friendly and easygoing. The technician helped me out when I didn't understand an exam and even had me do it more than once because she wanted it to be as accurate as possible. My parents have been going to Dr. Miksch for many years at Patterson Eye Clinic. While visiting them, several times I have needed attention and the staff have worked me in. Yesterday I was experiencing a severe and weird eye infection and was seen promptly and referred out for a second opinion....a sign of true professionalism. The office is incredibly well run. All of the staff seem HAPPY to be working there. Clean, efficient and knowledgeable....a trifecta of great qualities for an optometry practice to have. Highly recommend. read more

It was a fact that could easily be verified by a quick visit to a public site online, which I did. Obviously she thought I was an idiot and just wanted to make a quick sale. The eye exam went well. I was looking a particular Ray Ban, however I had to come back because they were going to get more in. I went back and sales person seem to careless if I was going to purchase glasses or not. The Ray Bans I was looking at they didn't carry in 145 in temple. And they don't do special orders. Then she told me to call Ray Ban. I then asked I would be able to apply my benefits, she then said well Ray Ban doesn't carry them in that your size. Very frustrating situation. I asked to speak with manager, that person called left voice mail that they were going to have sale person call me back. Not worth the bother. read more

No long waits to be seen, in fact there is little wait time at all. The technicians are professional and take every measure to ensure comfort while taking medical history and performing the necessary tests on state-of-the-art equipment. The optometrists are the best I have ever seen. When I had a problem with one of my eyes, Dr. Nardone saw me immediately and was able to get me in to see a retina specialist the next day. The specialists were particularly complimentary of the optometrists at Patterson Eye Clinic. When I go for my annual eye exams, they are comprehensive and all findings are explained in great detail. Once a prescription has been established, the opticians in the eyeglass department help with choosing a frame and ensuring a proper fit.
