Absolutely terrible experience at Patty's Eggnest in Kenmore. I ordered a gyro sandwich, but they brought me a gyro omelette instead. When I told the waiter it was the wrong item, he came back with the menu, yelled at me, and demanded I show him what I ordered. I pointed to the correct item, and he rudely insisted, "No you didn't." Completely unacceptable behavior. The food itself was awful -- full of lettuce and sauce, barely any meat (literally only 3 small pieces), and just sloppy overall. On top of that, the waiter never asked if we wanted coffee, just poured it without a word. We assumed it was complimentary since he didn't say anything, but then we were charged for it on the bill. Extremely rude service, poor quality food, and a very uncomfortable dining experience. Go somewhere else -- this place is not worth your time or money

Well you know this is a very cute location. I have been to Patty's egg next for years over in Bothell. Great diner style food. I frankly don't think it's much better than an IHOP or a Denny's. If you want really good food you got to go to something like rusty pelican. Usually breakfast places on the weekend have their top-notch staff. However if this was the top-notch staff that we encountered, I would definitely not go here on a weekday. Cooks seemed all right. Staff was okay. And the food well mediocre. My sweetest pancakes seemed a little bit burnt and lacking and cream. We had a table full of people. Everybody ordered food and a friend showed up late so we just asked for an extra plate. $2 service fee for a plate. Now maybe if it was one person and you asked for sharing I don't know maybe. But you got over $150 worth of food going out here and one person shows up just to celebrate the birthday late and you want to charge for a plate. And that person did order hot tea which was $3.50. so nickel and diming not a big fan of. In our group The breakfast burrito was probably the best order of the day. The pancakes mediocre. The poached eggs were horrible. If you ask for some extra hot water for your tea between the eye rolling took a good 10-15 minutes just to get an extra cup of hot water which then they tried to charge us for. I know they have some poor reviews here. But we thought we would go anyways because it is such a nice location and many of us have been to the other Patty's egg nests around town. However I will not be going back.

    Omelet.

I'm excited they have opened a new location in Kirkland. I had an omelet spinach, mushrooms and Swiss cheese with a side of bacon. All was delicious. The only drawback was service was a bit slow. I had to ask for refills on my drink instead of being proactive. But all in all it was a good experience. I'll be going back.

As said the service was fine but the food - hearth roasted mushroom frittata and breakfast burrito - was decidedly bland and under seasoned. Frittata was covered with an excessive mound of arugula. While peppery, it's asking a lot of arugula to carry/cover for a bland unseasoned water bath baked egg concoction with minimal caramelized onions and flavorless mushrooms. Desperately needs some herbs, garlic or strong cheese, some crisp edges... something. A side of chicken apple sausage was just okay. Breakfast burrito was disappointing in its own ways. Tortilla was gelatinously clinging together as if it had been prepared in advance, then reheated, and covered in what was called salsa but was more akin to basic excessively mild tomato enchilada sauce. The carnitas pork was unseasoned and dry. Potatoes were soft and lacking a crisp element that would have helped immensely. The only place salt seemed to show up was in the salted maple latte and in that it was a bit heavy. Likely not stopping back anytime soon.

Service was notably much more welcoming, the interior & vibe remained on point. The College Friend and birthday celebrant went all out and had the Fried Chicken Sandwich with fries. Apparently they "stopped doing that" in September, which was unclear from their website or Yelp reviews/pics, and it wasn't just me--the table next to me asked their server the same thing. My friend and I got brunch-y drinks (mimosa, spicy Bloody Mary), and then each got one of the only two items on the menu that had eggs (shakshuka and a breakfast sandwich). While I can't comment on the shakshuka, the breakfast sandwich had thick bread that was toasted a bit too much and wrecked the roof of my mouth. The drinks were good but the sandwich + a mimosa set me back $30 before tip so I don't think I'll be coming back again--certainly not during "brunch" time!

I tried the croissant french toast, which was delicious although a tad too buttery for my tastes. It wasn't too sweet and the texture was good (not mushy, more crispy on the outside and bread-like though I wouldn't say it was fluffy either), and since it wasn't too sweet I did get to try their maple syrup, which was a great pairing. Very odd, but I did also order scrambled egg whites on the side which were not something I expected to stand out to me! But they were delicious! I also added some breakfast sausages but they were a bit sweet and I probably wouldn't order them again. The vegan coffee cake was alright, but they topped it with cream cheese which I don't like, so I just had to pick out the bread from the bottom. It totally doesn't taste vegan at all though, so this is definitely a great choice for vegans!

My brother, who also lives and works in the area, tells me constantly how awful the customer service is there when you order food- to the point where he refuses to go. I'm celiac and can't eat anything over there so I hadn't ever experienced what I did today. Today we're at the bookstore together and I decided we need to make a coffee stop. My brother, Loren, orders a sandwich. He says he needs it to go. Person at the register is pleasant enough. I order a coffee separately and am quickly served. We wait a bit for the sandwich, and we finally go up to the counter after maybe ten minutes and see the same sandwich he ordered sitting in a basket. It has a ticket on it that says "Owen." Easy mistake, really. He says, "Is this maybe Loren's?" And the person behind the counter immediately snaps "it says Owen." Okay. So we wait a few more minutes. We're now 15 minutes out and several people who ordered after us are served. He steps up and say "hey, I ordered a BLTA on sourdough for Loren, I think it may have been put in under Owen, but-" and before he can finish his thought they snap back at him again "it's probably yours because this one hasn't been picked up." At this point he's like, "okay, I ordered mine to go- could I-" and the girl behind the counter slams a box on the counter and says "here's a box." And turns away. I'm annoyed, because while I understand we have inconvenienced you, who is standing here chatting with an off-duty coworker for 30 minutes, we literally did nothing to deserve the attitude. Loren scoops the sandwich out of the basket and puts it into the box and this girl has the nerve to turn around and say "dirty dishes go behind you at the service bar." Oh, so now we have to bus YOUR hand-off bar, too? No sorry, no thank you, not even the offer to box up his food or put away the freaking basket. Is it because Loren is very clearly not white? Or is it because this lady today had a bad day and took it out on someone for interrupting her mid-shift gossip about how the mall security is full of idiots who don't do their job? Go ahead and take a gamble and let me know, because I won't be back.

But anyways, regardless, I enjoyed the food quite a bit. I'm usually a pretty tough critique on Italian food since it's one of my favorite cuisines. So for me to say the food is good should say a lot. I got their chicken risotto and I was impressed by it. I also got an opportunity to try some of their pizza and the crust was done very well. Not a floppy pizza. They have a proper pizza oven for baking it. Very good! The restaurant atmosphere feels quite high end. Great for date night, business dinners, or a fancy family meal. The restaurant did feel a bit crowded and tight though. Especially with how busy it was. I honestly think this place has great food. I just hope the staff gets paid enough. Like, I'll tip! Just don't have me pay for what the employer should be paying them. Just have me pay them for their great service.

I absolutely love their specialty drinks like honey cardamom, and a shakerato. The vibe and atmosphere is wonderful. It's usually social and low-key but never too loud. Love the location minus the issues with parking being tricky for a quick stop, sometimes need to pay. I keep coming back here! With gas prices over six dollars and budgets getting tighter for so many the one thing that hinders me is their prices. Their baseline drinks are an average of $5.75 + tip. Quiche slice is $8 two hard boiled eggs near $4. Typical typically if I'm gonna spend almost $10 I'd rather buy a fancy drink like a bubble tea or go out for an appetizer and food. When you own your own espresso machine and Matcha at home it's hard to justify getting such expensive drinks unless there is that "I can't make this at home" appeal - housemade syrups, Boba, etc I do love that urban coffee lounge has pour over options which can be time-consuming and cold brew, which is delicious and also more time-consuming. I appreciate their presence in the neighborhood. Having lived in Seattle for so long with so much access to incredible coffee I appreciate urban coffee lounges level of expertise with coffee.
