I had really high hopes for this place, especially since one of my friends recommended it. I was craving a good sandwich, so I ordered the veggie sandwich with a side salad. Unfortunately, the sandwich was quite dry and underwhelming. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't worth the price, and there wasn't anything particularly memorable or extraordinary about it. My favorite breakfast is veggie eggs Benedict , this did not disappoint- eggs were soft and sauce was creamy, English muffin was crispy with spinach and avocado. Decided to ride our bikes to breakfast on a sunny Sunday. We arrived at the witching hour (which is what I call the breakfast rush!) It was completely out of character for me, but I ordered the sriracha burger instead of the standard breakfast fare. I'll blame it on the 10 mile bike ride it took to get there! The burger was delicious. I did not regret my decision one bit! The maple bacon paired with sriracha sauce and Swiss cheese was *chefs kiss*! Found a Groupon deal for Alexa's Cafe and we were pleasantly surprised by the food! We came for brunch on a Sunday and waited about 20 minutes or so for a table. The restaurant is decently sized, with a lot of tables inside but unfortunately has a bit of a wait out the door. It's easy to find in downtown Bothell since the area around it is pretty unassuming. I got the sausage gravy and biscuits and the bread was soft and the gravy was not too salty. The service was speedy and the food tasted very much like a home-cooked meal. I wish I lived closer, I'd come here damn near every day! I ordered the biscuits and gravy and they were probably the best I've ever tasted. Tastes like home cooking but even better! Walked the dogs on a Sunday morning before the heat came and decided to see what the wait for this place might be. Was only about 10 minutes which was great. We got seated at a table outside in the shade, and the dogs sat in their own chair on a blanket. The waitress was very nice and quickly came to take our beverage orders. We ordered coffee and an iced tea, which were both tasty. A few minutes later, she came to take our food order, and we ordered a Southwest scramble size large and a veggie scramble size small. The food came out quickly, which was surprising because they were pretty busy. Both of us really enjoyed our food, and it was tasty and fresh. The veggie scramble had a good amount of thinly sliced vegetables in it, which was healthy, and the side of potatoes was flavorful and cooked to the right consistency. It was almost too many potatoes for both of us since they were cut in pretty big chunks. I had a piece of rye bread from the bakery across the street. My husband ordered a pancake instead of toast. I did not like the caraway in the rye, but I ate it anyway since I know it is healthy. I put some raspberry jam on the bread which tasted good. The waitress stopped by a few times to check if everything was OK and refill our drinks which was wonderful. All in all, the dogs and we had a good time, and the food was a little less expensive than some of the other places we tend to go to. I would go here again with the kids as a special treat or if we were in the area around breakfast or lunch time once in awhile since going out anywhere nowadays with a family can get quite pricy! read more

Local people pointed us to this cafe, and I can see why. Service was great and quick. Spacious so we didn't have to wait to be seated. Most of their choices include eggs and red potatoes, and portions are generous. I'd recommend to take a look their entrance display with fresh baked goodies. Lines out the door for Sunday brunch is always a good sign. We were delighted to discover Alexa's recently. I had an English Muffin sandwich with scrambled eggs, beefsteak tomato, and their amazing bacon. The menu included lots of benedicts and scrambles. At the next table, we saw some truly astounding Bloody Mary's--each with a strip of bacon instead of (I think) celery. Wow. The dining room is light and has a high ceiling, and there is modern acoustic material that keeps it from being too noisy. The reception and wait staff were perfect. We usually avoid going on the weekends because we expect it to be crazy busy, but on the Friday afternoon we went, there was no wait at all. My usual go-to is the Southwest Scramble, but on this most recent visit, I decided to switch things up and went with the Huevos Rancheros. As always, the portion was huge, and I got an additional meal out of it. The enchilada sauce was a little too salty for my liking, and I wished the dish came with some potatoes, probably to help balance out the saltiness. First time in for brunch, we got there about 11:30 and there was a waitlist. We gave our name and number of people in our party (2) and were told 40-45 minutes, but were actually seated in about 30mins. There is no digital waitlist and they don't take your phone number so you have to stay close enough to hear your name being called. We were seated outside and someone came by promptly to take our drink order, our waitress was several minutes behind. The eggs Benedict is good, but the sauce is definitely on the lemony side, and the onion dill toast is heavier on onion than dill. The Willows scramble was great and the cream cheese was a lovely accompaniment. We're excited to try more of the menu, but probably won't get a canned soda again ($3.50!) My wife had the Crab Benny with an extra dose of Hollandaise, my vegan daughter had the the Vegan Egg Sandwich and I had the Willow's Scramble. This place is well staffed, coffee is promptly refilled and always busy. Even with the constant rush of customers, we got seated and served quickly. Food is very good. Alexa's Cafe is a gem in Bothell! When I first looked at the menu many months ago I was disappointed that it didn't have any vegan options. My sister moved to the area and loved this spot, walking distance from her apartment, and I couldn't exactly go with her. Fast forward to this year, I saw the menu changed and now it's so vegan friendly! Now this is a must-stop every time I visit my sister in the area. Logistics: located on a pedestrian-only street with free street parking available all around, seating inside & out to enjoy the nice weather days. Drinks: I am a huge fan of the lattes, hot or iced - that is my go-to drink here. Everyone also loves the coffee (they use local Caffe Vita coffee). Food: so far I've had the California burrito, huevos rancheros, vegan egg sandwich, and veggie scramble - all vegan with the right substitutions (Just Egg for eggs, no cheese, etc.). When I got the California burrito I was really confused because it's not actually a burrito, more of a quesadilla - it was delicious. I wanted to get the Beyond breakfast sausage inside but they happened to be out of it that morning. Huevos Rancheros had amazing flavor. Scramble was delicious with veggies and toast on the side. Their roasted potatoes are fantastic though unfortunately not vegan as they are cooked in butter (I truly hope they change this and use a plant-based butter in the future!). For a non-vegan option, my sister loves the Benny's. Vibe: love the decor and atmosphere! It can get a bit crowded and loud when it's very busy but it's not overwhelming like some breakfast spots.
