This may be the best food and drinks stop between West Glacier and C-Falls. And it's open year round on this seasonal stretch of Hwy 2. Clean, no frills but excellent food and a full bar. This place is huge and gets packed in the summer. The building was designed and built by the owner six years ago.

Burger was big and juicy. Meat lacked a little flavor, but the salty tater tots made up for it. Price is right and served was quick and friendly.

Highly recommend this one. Went out looking for a place to eat one night while camping near Glacier National Park. Pulled in and was amazed. Love the service everyone was super friendly and helpful. Ordered the Glacier Burger and Bowman Chicken Sandwich. The beat meal we've had around the park. This is a true dive bar. I cannot believe how great the burger was. You must give this place a shot.

Food quality / price (value) rating 8.5. The atmosphere is "Paul Bunyan", a Western saloon with a pack of One-Armed-Bandits to complete the vision. The menu is exactly what you'd expect, including burgers, wraps, steak, salads, nachos.. There's something for everyone. They have about ten beers on tap, including some local brews you can't get elsewhere. I had the Buffalo Wings, and a couple of IPA's, and the wife had the "Apple Salad", a combination of Spring mixed greens, chicken, apple, avocado and fresh feta cheese, and choice of dressing, and a couple Pinot Grigios. We were both very happy with our food and drinks. The service was great - supplied by my new favorite server, Mariah, who was personable and engaging. The prices were very reasonable , and the place is kid friendly. They're open all year round, seven days a week from early Spring to late October, and five days a week during the Winter. They serve lunch and dinner only. There is live entertainment sprinkled about the calendar, so call if you are interested in a show. The owners of this business have owned several restaurants, and have made this place a cross of Western history and imaginative story telling. There aren't too many restaurant / bars in this immediate area, making this one is a good choice.

    Delicious huckleberry lemonade.

Staff was rude and I met the owner and he was even more rude. The food was okay but not worth the horrible service.

Burger: 5/10 can't remember what burger this was but the guy at the cash register recommended it and it was honestly really mid I give it like a five out of 10. Brunt ends 10/10: these were amazing. I cannot stop eating these burnt ends. The glaze on them was amazing and overall, probably the first person I've ever had. Huckleberry wings 8/10: these were also really good very solid wings, but the Soy are just better. Soy garlic wings 9.5/10: the glaze on these are amazing. Just an amazing wing overall. Jambalaya 8/10: I've had better jambalaya. It was solid, but nothing crazy. Overall, a great experience will definitely come down here with the family and share. It's amazing. Sam, I appreciate the apology and the fact that you took the time to personally address the…read moresituation. I also respect that corrective action was taken with the staff involved. That said, I want to address one part of your response because I think it deserves some clarity. I never called your staff racist. I never called your business racist. I never claimed that race dictated how I was treated. I stated a simple fact about my experience: I was the only person of color in the restaurant. A factual observation is not an accusation. What is particularly interesting is that your response is the one that repeatedly introduces the subject of racism, ethnic diversity, and the racial makeup of your ownership and management. I never questioned the ethnicity of your owners, managers, or employees, nor did I suggest that their backgrounds somehow determined their behaviour. You don't need to defend yourself against an allegation I never made. I can acknowledge that the comment about my appearance was inappropriate, acknowledge that your staff have been reprimanded and received additional training, and still describe exactly how the situation looked and felt from my perspective. Those things are not contradictory. And with respect, whether the employees are "good kids" isn't really the point. Good people can make poor decisions, and accountability means recognizing the behaviour without needing to make excuses for the people involved. From what you've described, that's exactly what you have done--and I respect that. What I don't appreciate is having my words reinterpreted into something more inflammatory than what I actually said, and then being given an explanation for an accusation I never made. I described my experience. You supplied the accusation. I'm perfectly comfortable standing behind what I wrote, because I chose my words carefully. If me stating a factual observation made you uncomfortable, that doesn't make the observation unfair, discriminatory, or inappropriate. I appreciate your apology. I simply expect the same level of fairness in how my words and experience are represented. Sam, one last clarification regarding the shots. I have no issue acknowledging that our server was kind enough to get them for us, and I respect her gesture. But I would hardly consider something coming out of an employee's own pocket something the establishment should be presenting as evidence of its own generosity. If anything, that distinction makes the gesture more meaningful because it came from her personally--not from the business. We didn't ask for the shots, request them, or expect them. They were simply placed on the table. We also declined having the bill covered. So I would leave that particular detail alone. Attempting to use an unsolicited gesture from your server as a favourable footnote to the incident doesn't improve the story--it only highlights who actually showed generosity and professionalism that evening. I have said everything I needed to say. The record can speak for itself. I wish you, your staff, and your business continued success. For once and for all, consider the matter respectfully closed.

My friends that we were staying with were locals, and they recommended A Bar, so we knew we had to try it out. It was a Friday or a Saturday night, and we arrived after nightfall, so we were worried there wouldn't be anywhere to sit, but we miraculously found a nice six top with a great view of the karaoke that was about to start. Looking around, the ambiance was really cool. It had a heavy dive bar vibe. I could perfectly picture Garth Brooks singing in the corner with a rowdy crowd packing the place. A lot of the tables were talking or shouting friendily to one another, showing me that there were a lot of locals and/or regulars there. But also, the place sold merch, as if it were a tourist attraction. A very interesting blend. Service was great. He was just a cool dude that efficiently brought to us everything we ordered. Beer showed up in a hurry, the food came out timely and nice and hot. Very nice fella. As for the food, it was surprisingly very good. Like, the best food we ate the entire time we were in Montana. We opened up with the A Bar Nachos (Corn tortilla chips smothered with melted cheddar, refried beans, taco meat, diced tomatoes, olives, jalapeno, and green onions. Served with salsa and sour cream. Wow! These were good nachos. First of all, they were huge. You can't have small plate of nachos, it's not a good look. Second of all, they were layered beautifully. Not all the toppings were topped on top, they were layered in between layers of chips, leaving no boring bites even towards the end. Third of all, they added beans. Not everyone does that, but everyone should, because it spreads well and they're a great meat substitute. Just amazing nachos. For my main meal of the night, I ordered the Cowboy Burger (1/3 pound Angus Patty, lettuce, tomato, bacon, cheddar, onion rings, and barbecue sauce on a grilled Brioche bun). Also awesome. A huge patty, cooked perfectly, sitting on a bun that was hearty enough to support it, stacked high with crispy onion rings and skewered with a giant steak knife to really set the presentation off right. A little fresh veg, a good amount of sauce, and a literal mountain of tater tots really made this a super satisfying meal. I also got to try the Shrimp Basket (Crispy Breaded shrimp, deep fried and served with French fries, cocktail sauce and lemon). These were nice. Nice, crispy shrimp, crispy tots, nothing was too greasy. A nice way to end the meal. Or so I thought that was the end. At the last second, I saw on their specials board that they had a huckleberry cheesecake. We were on the way out already, so I ordered it to go, and when I got it home, I naturally paired it with some Tillamook huckleberry ice cream and had one of the best nights of my life.
