Hearty breakfast! We visited Outlaw Diner late on a Tuesday morning, and it was mostly empty. One wall is plastered with country album covers, and the other wall is filled with cowboy iconography. Country music played during our visit. At this establishment, you order at the counter, and they bring it to you. I tried the nester cheesy scramble with tots and their outlaw sauce. I also ordered a side of their fried pickles. The outlaw sauce has a nice flavor and was lightly drizzled over the scramble. The tots were fantastic and among the best that I have tried. The rest of the dish was solid, and I had no complaints. The fried pickles were thin strips of pickle with a disproportionate amount of breading. They were paired with ranch. The flavors were okay, but it all congealed into a cluster of grease. I think it would have been better if they fried pickle chips in the same batter instead of the thin strips. Overall, I think there is a lot to like about the Outlaw Diner, and I would recommend them for a casual breakfast in Columbia Falls. read more

It was just OK. My husband says he'd give one star but I'd say 2.5/5 just average but will not be back. There were a couple things that made us question the quality of the food. There is only scrambled of hard cooked egg. ***No yolky eggs*** and no pancakes. We didn't realize coming in. And when we got the cheesy scrambler, the eggs were VERY "wet". Now I don't want to start any rumor but they were very similar to how hotel breakfasts boil bags of prepackaged scrambled eggs then chop it up and serve it. Point being, unsure if they were fresh. I'm pregnant so I was skeptical at first to eat since they were so wet and runny. My husbands chicken fried steak was square. Another indication he thought it was prepackaged frozen. Both came with size of potato's and they were great! Crunchy on outside and soft on inside My toddler got the French toast sticks though and those were so yummy. They gave him crayons and a coloring paper which was nice! High chairs are available. My husband just assumed it all was reheated from the freezer isle. But I'm less difficult to impress, especially for breakfast, and usually he is too just something felt off here. And if the runny eggs didn't make me question than I probably would've never noticed anything. The woman working was so sweet and attentive. Old-school diner feel. 2.5 stars. Came here for brunch because Montana Coffee Traders had a 45min wait. Plus the google reviews looked pretty good. Interior decor and ambiance was pretty unique. Walked to the end of the restaurant, passed about 4 tables eating, to order at the counter. We ordered two 420 scrambles. It wasn't brought to my attention at the time but the prices shown reflect the CASH price. If you pay by card/Apple Pay you pay an extra 3% on top of menu prices. I also left a 20% tip right there based off of.... nothing. I was a tourist and felt like supporting a local business. You grab a seat with a number placard like at a food court. Get your own fork/knives and water if you need. After waiting about 30 minutes for our food, i started regretting the tip I left. Food came out after a total of 50 minutes. Looks like a dive, eats like a diner. Not fancy by any means and only one person taking orders at the counter, but the food was seasoned well and there was plenty of it. The breakfast reminded me of sweet home Alabama!! Man was it good!! The bacon and sausage gravy was the star!! The staff was excellent! The sweet lady that cooked came and talked with us! They only had to people working and told us it would be a minute before we got the food, but it was only like a 15 mins wait! Not to long at all! Visited outlaw diner a day ago for breakfast before we explore the rest of kalispell. We walk in, and as the ambiance would suggest, it's old fashioned. I enjoyed the set up. The service was good as there was one woman working the front counter who was kind. We sat down and waited only a few minutes before our food was delivered at our table. It was roughly 40 dollars for about two plates of food and two fountain drinks. I ordered the breakfast scramble and my fiancée ordered potato's, eggs, and bacon. When you come in, no one greets you. You seat yourself. You have to go to the counter to order your food, and then at that time, if you're paying with a card that's when you have to leave your tip. So, at that time, no one has helped you, and you don't even know if the food is good yet. The food comes out pretty fast. Which i suppose is a plus. The taste of the food seems pretty...school cafeteria. Powdered eggs and frozen meat type stuff. The potatoes definitely look like frozen potatoes. The waffle was ordinary. I went in here for the first time and was surprised that their gravy has both sausage and bacon in it, so I ended up ordering the full order of biscuits and gravy. It's a little confusing when you walk in because it feels like maybe you're supposed to wait to be seated but in fact you're supposed to walk to the back of the restaurant and order at the counter but the service couldn't have been friendlier and the food arrived to the table quickly and at a decent price. I will say that either I was incredibly hungry from a long hike the previous day or the portions just weren't what I was expecting from a cowboy themed diner that really plays up to that. The coffee was good and I think I enjoyed the food because I ate every bit of it (again, might have been that I was just really hungry) but I think they could either add in more filler like potatoes or go with smaller serving skillets to give the appearance that you're getting more. Based on the descriptions I thought there would be more and was a little surprised by how much empty real estate there was on the skillet. All in all it was a good stop and if you haven't been super active or aren't planning on being super active it's probably a great option for you. And even if you are, stop by anyway because you can always grab a snack later in the day and this place has a very charming vibe to it that is worth being supported. read more

First of all this place is one of the only ones that I could find open, it seems most restaurants in Colombia falls or hungry horse are understaffed. The lady at the counter who took our order was really nice and helped me decide. The food was overall good I got a waffle and French toast sticks the waffle was average but the French toast sticks were awesome.
