Service was amazing and Ambiance was very cool. But the food.... We are traveling with my family of 6 and our BFF's family of 4, equaling 4 adults and 6 young adults, all of which love food and love to eat! Starters: calamari and Brussels were good. The shishito peppers were barely cooked and crunchy. My husband had I had Caesar salads with chicken and I had grilled shrimp. My shrimp was not grilled, lettuce was a wilted and the dressing was subpar. 3 ordered the bolognese which is typically everyone's favorite, and they were all sent back. I tried a bite and honestly have no idea what flavor I was tasting... maybe really bad game, besides the unrecognizable flavor, it was dry with little sauce and less meat and no parm topping. Four ordered Chicken Forestiere and would rate it a 5 or 6. My last guy had the filet with extra veggies which ended up being 3 small carrots. Our server was amazing and didn't charge us for the bolognese. This morning I learned that my eldest was up all night with a very bad stomach. This place has a ton of potential so I hope they can turn it around. read more

We sat on the patio which faces out to the sometimes noisy Second St in downtown Whitefish. It was a pleasant evening, not cold, with the late afternoon sun. We ordered a mix of light bites and drinks. My mojito was ok. It looked pretty but was a little weak. We enjoyed the Cauliflower which was fried in a buffalo tempura batter and served with ranch dipping sauce. These were crisp, tangy and delicious. We ordered the Hot Rock with wagyu--molten lava rock that we cooked thinly sliced wagyu with ponzu sauce. The wagyu stuck to the rock a little and only took about 15 seconds each side. These were tender, tasty but there just only six small slices. This was not enough -- glad the server emphasized it was a small portion because it could not have served as an entree. The lettuce wraps with pork, pickled vegetables and kimchi was good, though only 4 pieces of lettuce seemed miserly. We finished with the huckleberry crème brûlée, which was studded with tiny huckleberries. The top was like a sheet of thick glaze with huckleberry and hint of burnt caramel and gave a very satisfying crack. I think this was the best use of huckleberry all week. The food was delicious and one of our better meals this week. Service was friendly and helpful although I think there was a long wait for our food. read more

Restaurant is in a hotel in downtown Whitefish. The food menu is short and concise. You get a little taste of everything here. I wish the salad had more dressing but other than that, the food was great. I cleaned up my plate. The "Hot pot" was a deconstructed twist on a hotpot. I've had many hot pots traditionally so if you are expecting that, don't. It's a fun and tasty flare on this tradition. The tofu purée was very different so I recommend mixing everything and/or getting a bite of everything in one spoon with the dashi broth. Salty and umami! Tasteless overpriced trash. Do not eat here. The ambience is fine. The service okay. Food just bad. A piece of dry salmon, no lemon, no seasoning, no sauce. Served on a scoop of couscous on a salad plate. I asked for bread and any sauce. 15 minutes later received ranch dressing and three stale small toasts. Was charged an extra $5 on my $40 bill for my request without being advised prior. $40 for the above, no drinks. I've eaten here before and it was bad. Sigh... Like so many other places in Whitefish, this place has grown to be more pretense than substance. I came for some GREAT live music and had to ask the front desk people to turn the house music off! The Ahi tuna was dry, but OK-ish... Many of the menu items are like SO last year. A huge bright spot was the delicious grilled peppers, but overall the menu is kinda boring without being boring in a good way, like, meat n' potatoes. read more

Just know that the "fire" in "firebrand" means you will get food that is burned worse than the bottom of a charcoal grill after cooking all day on the 4th of July. No flavor. Unless you like coal. Also, the staff bussing tables was amazing but the waitress was missing most of the meal. Ambiance may be the only thing going for this place, but in Whitefish, MT that is a given. I will say the manager was apologetic and provided desserts which was super kind. However they also were so terrible (one not edible at all) it just underscored the reason to never return. read more

This place had a Yelp 3.5 star rating, and I didn't consider it much for brunch on a Tuesday while in the Flathead Valley area. However, we reviewed the menu, saw the delicious huckleberry French toast and fried chicken biscuit on there, and couldn't resist! We decided to give it a shot. The waiter was extremely kind and helpful. We were seated outside (in a socially distant manner). Their outdoor patio is wonderful and you can catch the sights and sounds of downtown Whitefish from there. Indoor seating looked great as well. Our food tasted DELICIOUS. They were out of biscuits so they put our fried chicken on sourdough bread which was still fantastic. It was made of white breast meat and breaded/ fried to perfection. The French toast was generous - the equivalent of 3 large toasts. However, it didn't feel too heavy at all white the right amount of huckleberry compote and butter. I definitely recommend this place, and hope more people can visit and up its Yelp rating! read more

Setting: The restaurant is inside of the hotel and it is pretty spacious with comfortable seating. The atmosphere is nice and it is a pretty relaxed environment. They play live music on certain days such as Wednesdays and Saturdays. Food: We came here for breakfast and got the avocado toast and the Greek yogurt with granola and fruit. The avocado toast was really good and had a poached egg on top. The avocado had small pieces of salami but if you wanted to make a fully vegetarian, you could probably ask them to remove it. Would definitely order the toast again. The Greek yogurt was a little sour but tasted excellent after we added some honey. The fruit was fresh and the granola with tasty as well. The following morning, we got a berry smoothie that cost $6.50. I mainly got a smoothie because I saw another gas order and it looked really good. However when I got my smoothie, it was made by a different person and it did not look as appetizing. Originally it was very bulky and not liquidy and so I asked them to add some extra milk to make it more liquidy. Overall the smoothie did not taste very good but that might be because of the modifications requested. Value: Because the restaurant is in a hotel and slightly more upscale, we expected the prices to be a little higher. The avocado toast seemed fairly priced given the setting and it was $12. The Greek yogurt, in my opinion, was overpriced at nine dollars because it was basically just regular yogurt with some fruit and granola. It also didn't taste amazing and so it didn't feel like the best value. Service: The service was excellent and all of the staff were wearing masks. They were very attentive and frequently checking on us to see if we needed anything else. They weren't doing limited capacity dining because of Covid. It seemed as if guests could sit pretty much wherever they wanted. Other: We mainly came here because we got a $15 voucher from the hotel because we were there for our honeymoon. We probably would not have eaten there otherwise because it seemed overpriced. read more

Overall: Great atmosphere, overpriced food, and split staff. I have been anxious to try this place, so last week a group of us went for food and drinks. Thw drinks were great (though my 3 ounce margarita was $12 whereas my other friends giant drink was $6, so I recommend asking before ordering drinks). The food was good (almost great), but portions were tiny. I usually eat 1/4 of what I order. I ate it all and was still very hungry. Then I asked if their butterscotch cookie skillet was big enough for the 10 of us to share. She said yes, so I ordered it. Not only was it SERIOUSLY tiny (see photo), but it was horrible (tasted like pure sugar with a disgusting aftertaste). The waitress was rude and it just made me feel tense. I'll try it again for drinks, but will opt for food at one of the many other Whitefish establishments that serve up delicious food in portions that satisfy (Pescado Blanco, Abruzzo, etc.). read more

We sought a higher level of attention and quality of food for an upscale hotel/spa restaurant. It took our group 15 minutes to be seated, for a restaurant that had hardly any tables filled and our table held as reserved. Simply put, we stood at the front desk without anyone coming to talk or seat us for that period of time. Once seated, our waitress was delayed in getting to us, as it appears they were understaffed. We were about to walk out when she came over. We asked about the level of service to expect and were told they were understaffed, and to expect the same everywhere. None the less we ordered drinks and 3 appetizers. We were informed one of the two entrees (fish and chips) was not on the menu and neither was the beet salad. Both were eyed as being items we desired. Ultimately, the pot stickers were good. The rabbit was a bit tough. The duck crostini was not crusty. There is room for improvement. We noted the front desk had an employee who was not taking any effort to help the bar or waitress, rather staring listlessly at a computer screen. Ambience was that of a hotel restaurant in the lobby area. Good bar, but not for the prices charged for the appetizers. We watched as at least two other parties came in, and walked away without being seated. Good luck to getting staffed appropriately and living up to what appears to be a restaurant that isn't keeping up with the higher brand level of the hotel/spa it resides in. read more

We absolutely loved this place! We came for happy hour on a Monday and they had a shrimp special, it was delicious. We ordered appetizers, wine and beer and that ended up being dinner. Then we returned for dinner later in the week. We ordered the poutine, patatas, and steak frites. Everything was delicious. Wine was great. Service was very friendly. Came in for happy hour. Great prices for drink and small bites. The cheese plate was a disappointment-old grapes and hard salami. The egg rolls were greasy. They were amazing. The clams had fresh roasted tomato and basil with crusty bread to soak up all the luscious juice.... tender and succulent and not one grit! The calamari was amazing. A friend and I recently went here for dinner and were very impressed! Our server Sarah was friendly and gave great suggestions for dinner. We started with the duck bruschetta for an appetizer and each had the filet for dinner. Everything was so unique and flavorful! I would have never though huckleberry Demi glaze would go with a filet but it paired so well! We had the lavender creme brûlée to finish our meal. Just walking by and hit the happy hour which only has a limited menu. It was a challenge to get service, but perhaps that's because the it was a Wednesday at 4. Once service was acquired the food was limited, but it was tasty and everyone seemed to like. It's a lounge in the hotel so perhaps if staying here this would be a more viable option. read more

We stopped by for dinner tonight because there were no reservations in town. Glad we did! Everyone was so nice and our waitress Kara was adorable and so attentive!
