Also took a short walk down to the river on a trail that was fairly steep. The main trail is paved and easily handicapped accessible. There are placards on the trail, displaying wildlife, early inhabitants, etc. it was pretty interesting . The park also has an old farmhouse and area around the house with display set up and placards describing each item, nice trip through history.

The trail map shows two very short trails (.04 and .05 miles), but we managed to get in 4 miles by veering off the dirt trail onto unmarked trails. The main paved trail is shaded about 50% of the way and the dirt/rock trail is not shaded at all (unless you veer off into the woods like we did). There's a small creek that runs along the dirt trail so we saw lots of people fishing. (The water is gross so it's not suitable for swimming.) Lots of parking and some historical buildings to see. Overall a great find--we'll be back.

It'd be nice if they put a playground or a swingset, or a restroom out here. Nothing like that here. Just nature. I've seen deer running through this park, and it is always picked up. That's probably because nobody uses it. I've never seen anyone but deer here. There's plenty of parking along Clydesdale Run here. It's a great place to get out and get some sun. There are giant oak trees all over this park, so it's not really optimal for a game of soccer or football. But I'm sure you can come up with some tree friendly activities to do here.

It's a lovely place filled with flowers and aromatic herbs. It's doggie friendly with bags along the trail. Loved that. Plenty of free parking. The backstory is the Butterfly park was built in April 1998, dedicated to Henry Gutierrez and his wife Rosie. From what I understand, the Gutierrez family were quite influential in this region. They were very generous making regular donations to their important causes. This is a beautiful place! Very peaceful. I highly recommend making a trip.

Was driven along the freeway and just happened to see this massive light up show so I had to go and…read morefind out it took me a solid 20 minutes to find the entrance. It is a little bit hidden. Once you find it though, it is absolutely incredible. It is a drive-through light up show with coordinated music. You just tune your radio station to the matching numbers. Virtual of us, I believe the tickets came out to $70 so it is pretty pricey, but I definitely enjoy the experience. One downfall is you can only go through one time but you can't go as fast or slow as you like. They do offer snack, like popcorn, cotton candy, and some souvenir items like a light up wand and magic glasses which essentially you're gonna make some of the lights stars Wonderful experience for the whole family would highly recommend!

I'm glad we went when we did because the line to get in winds back and forth for many rows so I would not have liked to wait in a line that long. On this Thursday night we only had a few cars ahead of us. You'll buy your ticket online and the price is per car, not per person. When you check in they'll scan the QR code on your ticket and you can buy concessions before you start the experience. Or you can do what we did and make to-go hot chocolates before we left. Here are some do's and don'ts to have the best experience. DO type in "Light Park" into your navigation system. We started out only entering Retama which does not take you to the pretty lights. The line to get in is lined with purple lights. DO put your radio on 87.9 as advised, the lights will be synchronized with the music and fun Christmas movie audio clips. Don't keep your headlights on. Don't keep the radio on 87.9 once you leave because you'll start to get static. This experience has a multitude of flashing light displays. My iPhone camera went a little crazy at the end and would not focus for pictures or videos any longer. I think the flashing lights might have caused this malfunction. And lastly, DON'T miss out on this experience! We want to make it a yearly tradition now.

I was on my lunch break and unfortunately did not get to investigate the trail system very much. I only did about a half mile. The level one trail I did was asphalt very wide and could easily be traversed by someone with disabilities or in a wheelchair. However, it was 100% uphill lol My short little jaunt got my heart rate up pretty quickly due to the elevation change. I would definitely like to come back when I have more time and hike some of the loop trails. It's a very nice system. The sides of the trail was mostly dense underbrush, lots of cedars and other trees so I did not recognize. It is a nice little break out to nature after lunch. . I would come back.

Watch out for perverts parents, but that hasn't been a problem here because there are always people around and cops always patrol area.
