Rick the manager was prompt in getting his guys out to help you the water damage. Artemis came first his clean up of the damage to walls and floor was exceptional. There was any debris left. It was nicely prepped for the next phase. Alvin came to monitor the drying process and make sure the dehumidifiers were working properly and we were comfortable as possible with the noise and warmth of the drying process. We had a roof leak that produced problems with our ceiling and walls. They removed our sheetrock and anything that was wet and tried to help us get the most from our insurance. For that, we were grateful. However, after we fixed our roof, it took 4 people to show up over the course of 5 months, assess the work that needed to be done, and not call us back. When the 5th guy came out, he said he'd schedule us. However, we did have to call him a number of times to check in on the status. Eventually, they started the job, which we were told would take five days. It took three weeks because workers didn't show up, or they showed up and left right away, and they didn't have the right materials. The work that was done was beautiful. So if you're patient and have the time, go for it. read more

I saw all the other reviews....my experience so far has been great....Antonio was the lead service person....they were at my home in a very timely manner, (water heater flood), professional, courteous, and knowledgeable!!! Allstate Insurance was also impressed with them. My next step is to use their "pack out" service when replacing 4 rooms of floors....hope that service is as good as Antonio and his crew were!!!!!!!!! read more

It is in your best interest to avoid this company like the plague. We had a house fire in 2024 and our insurance assigned Paul Davis to our reconstruction. It took nearly 3 months for them to even start the process, and that was only due to constant pressure and begging on my part. Every step of the way I was lied to and mislead about what was going on at my home and when I would be able to return to it. Our project manager, who was almost never available and certainly never present to manage our project, gave us move in dates on three separate occasions that were not met. He also rushed me into having things like carpet and appliances delivered making us believe they were being installed soon, only for them to be dumped on the trash heap he was storing in our garage for weeks. After that 6 month long nightmare (it was initially projected to take 3 months) we moved back in and didn't hear from PDR for months. Almost 8 months later I receive intent to lien threats from them because they never sent me any bills. This company only cares about how many jobs they can take on and how many checks they can cash. They Do not care about your family or even the quality and efficiency of their work. If you choose to work with them or are forced to by insurance, you have my sincere condolences. read more

I have never dealt with a worse contractor than Paul Davis Restoration (PDR). After a tree fell on our house on May 6, 2021, I decided to use them based on State Farm's recommendation. I was told that Austin Dillard would be my project manager. I never met him, he never once came out to our house to look at the damage, and he made no effort to contact me, except to send me a work authorization. I paid half of the estimate ($10,018.33) on June 24, 2021. I did not hear anything from Mr. Dillard all July or August. I finally got in touch with the office, and they sent a roofer to look at the damage. He said he couldn't do anything until the framing work was done. I tried contacting Mr. Dillard to see when a framing crew was going to get started, and after several attempts, he said the roofer was responsible for that. The roofer finally did get a crew, and he basically became the project manager. At this point, I asked him what I was paying Paul Davis for, and he couldn't answer. I had to hire and pay a metalworker myself ($6,375) to replace the patio railing the tree destroyed. I had to hire a pest controller ($1,078) to remove raccoons that had infested our ceiling. They were able to get in, because PDR took so long to begin work, and there was an opening in the facia. Almost five months after the tree fell, the job was finally completed. In late September, I paid the balance of the work authorization ($10,018.33) On October 5, the PDR office called me to say they would be sending me a Completion of Service document for me to sign. More than three months later (January 18, 2022), I received an email asking me to sign it, and it included an invoice for $7,198.84. I never once received an itemized list of expenses, so I had no idea why I would still owe $7200. Eight months later, I finally received an itemized expense report. read more

Worst customer service ever! Troy Hurd dragged my family along for 3 months to decide he is unable to assist. After providing a quote and stating he was working on getting us scheduled and getting it worked out. I did lots of research before settling on this company and yet this was the outcome. Know that if they don't return a call... call again and again and again and finally one will answer and give you a supervisor. That's the only way to get anything done. read more

Paul Davis Restoration was our contractor for a nearly full house remodel through Lowe's. We'd had a previous horrible experience with another "contractor" that built out our unfinished basement. We were very nervous about starting our project, but from the time we started our walkthrough with Keith from PDR, our confidence grew. We were given a very comprehensive schedule at the start of construction. There was a minor delay, about a week, at the start of the project because of something we neglected. Once they started, they put the lockbox on the front door and went to work. Things seemed to stay mostly on schedule. There would be a day or two where things were off, but mostly it stayed pretty close. Most of the "problems" we had were more due to miscommunications with Lowe's or because we had to make decisions about how we wanted things. Keith was pretty quick to answer our questions and respond, and I felt like he had a very good eye for things and attention to detail. There were a few small issues on the punch list/cleanup phase, problems getting paint just right or getting the right parts from Lowe's. For the most part, Paul Davis Restoration was great to work with, and Keith was awesome as our project manager. One caveat: we were able to live in our basement during the work. That made life much easier during this. They still finished the project basically on schedule for what they had told us. We were very pleased! read more

Paul Davis Restorations (PDR) was the primary contractor for our full kitchen remodel through Lowe's. To say the project was completely mismanaged is a gross understatement. Much if the problems were caused by Lowe's but many were due to PDR. Starting with never having set times to work, always a "window" of a few hours which were frequently missed anyway. I can say that, in general, the PDR workers were good and professional, but the organization of work and the timeliness were awful. If you want a project to be completed on or close to schedule, have daily cleanup and accurate estimates of progress, etc. go elsewhere! I made contact with the PDR owner. He responded to me, once. After that he completely ignored my requests to intervene and even changed his email address! Our five month remodel took the better part of a year. I also had to redo some of their work and complete some of it myself. I had to act as project manager even though there were three different people assigned through PDR and Lowe's for that task. Never again will I use Lowe's or PDR. read more

My experience with Paul Davis Restoration was lack luster at best. My house was damaged by water and heat caused when the house next door burnt down. When I contacted my insurance about what to do next, they sent Paul Davis' mitigation team out to inspect the water damage and get that taken care of, and they did. I will have to say that the team that came out first were exceptional, and from the way they treated us and our property, there was no way we could have or would have expected any less out of the rest of the company. Based on the water mitigation team we decided to have Paul Davis do the remainder of our restoration, which included flooring, windows, siding and misc. clean up; luckily no roof work was required other than a few shingles. Paul Davis works with contractors for things like flooring, siding, etc. The contractor they sent out first was for the flooring. They broke our TV stand, nicked up our walls on the interior, disconnected a water line to our refrigerator and dishwasher that required repair, half of which we were left to pay for even though it was on the contractor. In the end, they only moved larger items back in place and we discovered that they had left our front window open for 3 days!! The window and siding crew was very nice, but they were a mess and one night left our front door open with the key in the lock. The project manager that we worked with was a joke. He had no idea what any of his staff was doing and after many frustrating incidences, I just left any communication with him to my husband, who also became frustrated with him. He was not knowledgeable at all about any of the processes he was guiding. I ended up working with his boss, who actually made us a priority, for about a week. Then when they bigger parts of the job were done, we were just forgotten. I actually had to reach out myself to get an inspection and follow through on smaller items. Then it was weeks before a final call (text actually) was made to collect. It was a surprise to him that they weren't done. I mean, I have the adjustment, they have the adjustment.... Should they not know? Just more communication issues. I thank goodness that our house didn't burn down, that we only had damage to fix, because we know that it could have been worse, but after going through what we did, Paul Davis was not at all caring with us or our home. If I could speak directly with the owner, I would suggest that he take a better look at most of his contractors and make sure the right people are in charge. I would also say that the number one thing I disliked the most about this experience is after my first negative experience with the project manager (the siding crew leaving my house open and unattended) I was treated like a problem customer. I don't think that when your contractors are consistently making just dumb mistakes and your customer is frustrated that it's fair to treat them like they are the problem. I work in this industry and I understand that sometimes things go wrong, but it's up to the people you are working with the make it right, not the customer. There are still things in my house that they messed up that I didn't address because I just got tired of that attitude and just wanted them done. Sorry for the long review, but this is important information for potential customers to know. I wish I had seen something like this before I made the bad decision to go with this company. read more
