Paulie and his boys are top notch! I shopped around a lot for someone to refinish my hardwood floors. My parents owned this house for over 60 years and there was carpet all that time covering these beautiful Hardwood Floors up! My parents passed away and left the house to me. There was very old poly under the carpets with minimal damage to the hardwood. Paulie's son did a great job repairing a spot where an old banister used to be at the top of the steps. Giving one star is giving way too much! From initially taking a payment on a squared app and then asking for a check telling us we were getting a refund on the squared which I had to scream and yell at him for two weeks to get my refund! Besides that the one hardwood floor that he try to repair and refinish in my bedroom is so horrendous that after spending all of this money and time to do it it is far worse than the floor ever was to begin with! I have my foot falling through floor boards that are not Secured he slumped some kind of wood putty in between the floorboards there on even I could go on and on and on please just don't waste your time with this man or this business it was absolutely horrible and it's probably going to cost me thousands of dollars to repair my floors now! read more

Very disappointed from the moment the job started. This whole job has been riddled with issues from the start. Not enough wood, your guys damaged the cabinets and didn't tell us, gaps in the installation of flooring, ( wood filler doesn't fix it ) did not match to original wood (When you quoted the job you said you would match to our existing hardwood), and the biggest issue that we have is the damage to the cabinets those are not fixable. I'm a contractor and everything that's happened just does not give us very much confidence. Everything is just messy. Everything felt rushed and like I was talking to a salesman not a craftsman. We have been using Paulie Steamers cleaning service for several years. Paulie has always gone out of his way to ensure the work was timely and well done. We have had our kitchen tile floors cleaned and sealed several times. The furniture cleaned several times and the carpets cleaned several times. We have pets and if necessary, Paulie will come back as many times as needed to ensure the smell and urine is removed. Recently we had our hardwood floors redone. The work was excellent. The office were we have the dogs sleep was severally damaged and took a lot of sanding to get it in perfect condition in order for the poly urethane to go down. It took five coats to get the 2 rooms to match the hallway. Overall Paulie accommodated us with 3 coats over existing hardwood floors and 5 coats of poly urethane on both the guest bedroom and office. We provided a lock box and stayed in a hotel so the house could be accessed and worked on. This man Paulie claimed he could install kitchen hardwood floors, we paid $950 upfront in materials he showed up with what his installers said was about 30square feet. We needed 300. We had to wait hours for him to go pick up wood so that the job be done. His men then damaged our kitchen island banging a hole through it, did not tell us of the damage existed and proceeded to cover it up with spackle we had laying around the house. He also used our good kitchen knives to open the wood packaging. After being promised our kitchen would match or closely match with our existing floors he stained them a dark red when our existing as seen is a honey color. He then knew he made a mistake came back and resanded the entire kitchen again with a high powered machine not being careful of all the damage he was doing to our base cabinets. Later stating he had know idea how that happened ( his excuse for everything! Thats normal he would say, ill paint your 20k cabinets that are custom fabricated with touch up paint. He then told us he replaced boards by our front door and when I told him our home camera system showed otherwise he didnt say anything. Our floors have lines and splash marks all over, missing spots of poly throughout, are 3 different colors and dings and dents he created and didnt ( or couldnt fix) he also left his garbage in front of my home where my childrens bikes were. We dont place garbage there nor would we ever with boards of nails sticking from them. Thank God i found them before my kids stepped on them. He was by far the worst contractor weve ever had , not covering any of our belongings, covering rooms so sand dust didnt enter other areas. Told us everything was normal and shrugged off any wrong doing to it being normal. When wanted to fix a matter he showed up at 6pm at night to to put a coat of poly on that we couldn't walk on in 8 hours . Which means we have no access to our bedrooms until 1am with our small children. Thanks for fixing your mistake when it's convenient for you, rather then a customer. A One Star is generous. I would not recommend him to anyone. He then left his garbage and told us to deal with it it was not his as a banged on his van when he was driving off trying to hand him his trash. I wouldn't even give this company or the owner 1 star. The pictures provided on his site and Facebook page were nothing even close to the finished look we have received. He was hired to sand and stain our hard wood floors. First, the sand job that was done on the floor was sloppy and Uneven. Second, the stain was also sloppy and uneven. There were some parts of the floor that still looked wet as if there was too much stain applied, some spots had none at all, and some spots (on the one set of steps) had drip marks on each step. The other set of steps was not even stained. He left tape and trash all over our home and sand was everywhere.
