I had booked a appointment for 4 people and confirmed day of. Then had 5 people show up. The salon was empty. They did not have nail dip, or acrylic for feet. They kept on saying no for single service we asked for. Would not recommend this location. We were getting nails done for my sister's wedding and we're in a time crunch. I've been going to the Des Moines location so I wanted to check out their Kent location to see the difference. The ladies working there were nice. There was a slight misunderstanding with my appointment. I thought I said 430 but they said they wrote down 4pm for my mani-pedi. They asked me to wait a bit before someone can be available to do my pedicure. The massage was amazing! After my pedicure, they asked me to wait half an hour for my manicure since they're so busy. I was getting a little agitated but I decided to stay coz I didn't want to come back for another trip and I really wanted my nails done. Luckily, i only waited for about 15 minutes before someone started working on my nails. The manicure was much more rushed than the pedicure. I felt like they didn't spend enough time letting my nails go under the UV machine (coz I did shellac). The nail polish on one of the nails chipped the following day :( I'm not opposed to giving this place another try in the future but maybe not anytime soon. read more

First time there the owner was great but the second time I got a different girl who I had to correct on the shape, get her to repaint where she had obvious missing polish, and had to correct her sealing where my nail had popped up because she didn't do it effectively. I went here today and got mani shellac and a pedicure. I've been here a few times to get a pedi and they did a good job. My pedi was bomb! She gave me a nice and long leg massage. However, my nails looked horrible. The shellac already is coming off and it hasn't even been an hour. The place was nice and staff was friendly but probably will not return to get my nails done again. I gave it 2 stars only because I really did enjoy my pedi but my nails looked horrible. read more

Paulines is by far the best nail Spa around. Their specialty is silk wraps but they do everything well. I especially appreciate that the pedicure stations are semi private so nobody has to look at my toes while I'm getting a pedicure. The staff is super friendly and the salon is very clean. Definitely call and make an appointment as they are usually too busy for walk ins. read more

1st time being here and I never had silk applied before. The experience was very nice. I called ahead as it is Christmas Eve, and just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be waiting for long. They had an opening and when I got there, i only waited 10 mins before being seated at a booth. Upon arriving, the ladies were very friendly and their polish choices were on display and simple. The space was neat and clean. After being seated, I showed her a picture of what I wanted to get and started. I got their silk full set with gel polish and it turned out really nice. The pedicure rooms were private and quiet. The pedicure itself was very relaxing and she took her time in massaging their signature eucalyptus salt scrub. This is the best nail spa in town. I started going to Pauline's because they do great silk nails and I've stayed with them for many years now. The owner, Kay, is very friendly, upbeat and customer centered. Silk is extremely strong and looks natural, unlike acrylics. All of the manicurists at Pauline's are very experienced. They cannot only give you an amazing set of nails but also beautifully repair any damage you might do between manicures. Their pedicures are so relaxing I have fallen asleep. They also do lashes and brows and have a lot of repeat customers. While traveling I've had to get my nails done elsewhere, and I'm always disappointed. Kay set's a high bar. read more

This was some of the Best customer service I've received BUT I probably won't return simply because it wasn't very clean. The place could really use a deep clean and their process with the utensils. One lady literally set the pomace stone she used on me on top of the trash lid while she finished up. This is one of my favorite places to spend an hour or more. The salon is pretty, clean, and the staff is fabulous. They know what they're doing, they're fast and do their best to accommodate walk-ins when they can. We're chatty when we're there, as it's usually a group outing for the girls in my family. Hopefully we're not too disruptive for their other clients as we catch up with each other and the salon staff. We've been going there for years (more than 5), so we genuinely want to know how they are. The Pedicure chairs are great, and they have separate rooms if you want to bring your man for a little "manscaping". I'm starting my young nephews on pedicures, so far they love them! If you've never had silk nails, you're missing out. So much better than acrylic (which I would NEVER do again!). They're lighter, have some give (they move), and don't tear your own nails apart if they break or come off (very important!). The prices may seem higher, but the Silk Nails are soooooo much better than acrylic, it's worth a few bucks more. I plan to go here as long as they'll let me. I LOVE MY NAIL SALON!!!! read more

First of all, know that this place is NOT owned by the same people who have a nail spa in Des Moines under the same name. If you have a groupon it doesn't apply here. I was not impressed with this place. They told me they were booked up but the place was empty except for one person getting a mani. They were very rushed to get it done, and clipped me with the cuticle cutter, making me bleed for 5 min and dousing it with alcohol and nail polish which burned. The paint was applied sloppily and overall, not worth the price. Also the place is not very clean and the hand dishes dirty. Excellent attention to detail, GREAT massages and my feet and legs feel wonderful. Several color choices available plus several shellac colors. So when you're down visiting family, you try their places for fun. We had some free time in a Saturday and made a last minute appointment for three of us to have pedicures at Pauline's. Compared to even my favorite spots in Belltown and Ballard, this is just as good if not better. Service is great, the estheticians did a wonderful job and the entire session was quite relaxing. It had a nice family atmosphere and like most pedi spas, had some great green tea. Plus they also offer homemade spring rolls as well as a nice light snack. As a guy I'm not wild about adding color to my cuticles so I can't comment on that, but girlfriend and her mom both seemed to have nice colors applied evenly and well. I've been to this nail salon a few times in the past for pedicures. I finally decided to give them a try for my acrylics. The nail tech was nice but the way she did my nails was shocking. She started by hand filing my nails. Then used a fabric material (she said silk) to do my nails. I've never in my life seen this technique and asked why she wasn't using the acrylic power like every other salon uses. She told me they don't do it this way because you have to file the nails by hand and other salons don't want to take the time to do that. Interesting. The application of the spray burned my nails and when I mentioned that to her she said that's normal for the first application and the second shouldn't burn as much. She also said "you must just be sensitive." The second application burned just as much so she flicked my fingers after spraying. I was shocked during the whole process. At the end I went to pay and she charged me $60 for a full set. My nails are bumpy (from her hand filing) and 2 days later already lifting. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. She said 99% of her customers prefer this type of application and I truly find that hard to believe after my experience. I clearly won't be going back to this salon. read more

Not only did I have to wait almost 20 minutes when I had an APPOINTMENT, they are awful. I had a pulled muscle and left work early because they said they could see me for a massage. After my 20 minute wait, they tell me it's a foot massage......So I wasted an hour of my day driving to almost Covington and got nothing out of it. I could have stayed at work and earned money. And because I wasted so much time, there were no other massage options for me to see someone. I should have demanded gas money. read more

I had a supreme pedicure done today, by Jenny, while I enjoyed hot tea and egg rolls. She was so confident and considerate the entire process. I was able to sit in a private room and enjoy a chair massage while getting the pedicure. It was so relaxing. I enjoyed the decor that was decorated for Christmas. I would not return here if the pedicures were free for life! What a disaster. I referred here by a friend who said it was a nice ambiance. When I walked in I was extremely excited, it was quiet and the pedicure room is by itself, it did have a nice atmosphere. That is the only thing I can say nicely about it. I was rushed, waited on by someone I am sure isn't licenced. She didn't even remove the old nail polish before she was ready to start painting my nails. She was fumbling and very amateur. Then an older woman who began the pedicure came back to rush me through with mine when I started to complain. She cut my cuticle on my foot and hand....I was bleeding from both. I asked to do the manicure separate from the pedicure station and they wouldn't accommodate. They were also going from client to client bouncing around and not wearing gloves or washing their hands.....I repeat....I was bleeding. It also not very calming when one person doesn't stick with you. By the time I was done the place was pouring out the doors with people, we were crammed and rushed. Just TERRIBLE. I will never go back. Sorry I didn't clearly get the bloody finger but you can look at the sub par manicure, only thing nice was the color, but I brought that from home... read more

Went to Paulines for the first time with a friend she was out of town. Made an appointment for pedicure they were busy but got us back into the chairs. I had a wonderful massage and toenails very nice, except my friend didnt get her toes clipped so went back next day and they took her right back took care of the problem. I've been to a lot of nail places and this is hands down (pun intended) my very favorite one. I've never ever left unhappy. Their silk nails are soooo good, but just regular polish and shellac are so good too. A lot of times when I'm getting my hands done I'll just get a "polish change" for my toes. For a very small price, they will do a little trimming and cuticle cutting and then polish, and while I looooove pedicures, this looks just as good when I'm trying to save time/money. They've had the same staff forever, no turnover. The best part is that they really can't take walk-ins. So when you make an appointment, you show up on time, and you know you'll be taken care of right away. I hate going to places where they say they can take you, you start soaking your hands, and then you wait FOREVER (or you feel like they're rushing through). That has never happened here.
