The staff at this store are so nice and helpful! Every time I come in, I'm checked on and they always know where items are. Its a smaller hardware store but you can check inventory on their website or the app. I always try to come here vs the bigger stores when I can. read more

This is our favorite "go to " hardware store when we're in the area. It's close, convenient and staff is always friendly and helpful. The store doesn't look very big from the road but that's because you can't see the big addition in the back. You can rent just about anything from this place because they have it. They also sell propane in back. You can have your tanks filled and the price usually beats the other places that sell it. Yep, we really like this place. read more

I took an interior door that was damaged to Paul's Ace Hardware on Broadway in Tempe to have them measure my door for a replacement door. I was sent to Services in the back of the store where I was greet by an older guy named Pat. Pat measured my door and it was to be sent to a door company so as to be cut down to my measurements. The price tag was $200 and some change. When I finally got the door home I went to put it on. To my dismay, the door would not shut. After further analysis I found the door cut uneven and not the correct measurements. I called Pat at Ace and he said it wasn't the door, it was my house and my frame was probably crooked. NOT. Basically, he would not help me and it was my house' fault. I would not recommend this store or Service department if this is the way they do business like Used Car Salesmen. I'd give them no stars if I could. They're Shysters! read more

I needed to rent a carpet cleaner to get the place cleaned up before some family came into town. I thought I'd patronize small local business and avoid the "big box" stores. I chose the Bissell Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine. The price was great, $24 for 24hr with a refundable $24 deposit. . I made it through one tank of water before the machine stopped working. We called the store and were told that we could exchange it for another one and they would throw in an extra 24hrs for the inconvenience. No problem, that's a chance you take with rental equipment. We quickly exchanged it and headed back to finish the job. . When pulling the machine out of the bed of my truck we noticed some liquid still in the return tank. As I opened it to check the contents I wasn't even sure what I was looking at. Was it...a dead cat, a squirrel, someone's weave??? Whatever it was is was one of the most foul, disgusting and rancid things I've ever had the displeasure of seeing. It's a good thing I have a strong stomach. . We immediately returned to the store for a second time. As the manager approached I opened the tank for her to see. Being indoors with no ventilation the scent of monstrosity in the tank was overwhelming! We were immediately given a full refund and high-tailed it out of there and headed to the "big box" store down the street. . I have lived in Tempe for 20 years and frequented Paul's for many of those. The other night I had less-than-stellar customer service at the store location. That said, within 2 hours of voicing my disappointment about the establishment, I was contacted by a family member who owns it. She not only tried to make up for the issue, she really seemed to understand the importance of putting the customer first. I thought some of the store personnel lacked in their customer service, and that is something I hate to see in a locally-owned business. I like to frequent Paul's and others over the big boxes, but if the service isn't there, it makes it seem just on-par with the national guys. I can say after this experience that this is a store with local roots that still treats its local customers well, and they quickly make up for any shortcomings. Amazingly enough, they also seem to have a great selection of just about everything I'd expect in a hardware store -- despite the fact the location is small in comparison to a Home Depot. Sometimes smaller is better, and in this case I'm convinced that's the case. I'm glad to have Paul's as part of the neighborhood! read more

Yes, bit not at the same level Paul's Ace Hardware does in Tempe. If I need help, they are ready and willing to help me in every aspect of my project. The store manager Bras personally went out if his way to assist me in gathering all the materials I needed for my current project. He knows his store, bounced around to show me all options, and seemed to have recommendations on each project. This guy must love what he does because he knows everything in the store (or he is a constant do-it-yourselfer). This hardware store is close to where I work, and has almost always come through for me in a pinch. Oddly, I'm more comfortable here than the hardware store up the block from my house. Eric is definitely the best thing about this place, and he recently helped me out with a key that hadn't been cut properly. This is my store, they have all the parts for my house (if you live in the area, you know how important it is to have parts that fit your house built in the 60's). I feel they are a little overpriced, but I save that in gas by not having to drive elsewhere. They do not have a garden department (to my chagrin), but generally everything else is there. read more

Ms. Lori and Mr. Don treated me like family, making sure I purchased exactly what products would work best for my projects and made sure I got the best price in town. Store advertises curbside pickup, but when I tried to order and pay for a Chain saw over the phone to be picked up curbside, I was told that this would not be possible and that it would be necessary to go inside the store. I am new to Yelp, but I wanted to write a review to this hardware store because my husband and I do much of our own home improvement. I live close to this location, so I am a frequent customer. In contrast to Home Depot, it is small, but that is why I shop here instead of Home Depot. I do not have to drive to a mall or a major shopping center to get the tools and equipment that I need, and I do not have to wander the aisles searching for an employee. The staff here is very knowledgeable, pro-active in assisting you, and also very friendly. I have found from experience that they are always well-stocked, and the staff is dedicated to helping their customers.
