This review is for the sales team. We worked with Cierra Lane throughout the process. She was…read morefriendly, profressional, helpful and really took care of us throughout the process. We ordered our Telluride and ended up wanting a different interior color, she made sure it happened. She kept in contact with us and checked up on us after we came home with it. Great customer service, really made us feel like she cared. During the car buying process we met Summer Sherman who was very friendly, personable, complimentary and kind. She put on one heck of a presentation for the more esthetic parts of the warranty while not putting so much pressure on us that we felt like we were at a timeshare presentation. Lastly we worked with Sherard Bethea. He was the final stop on our long journed to get the Telluride in our hands. We were all tired, it was 9:30pm and it had been a day. Sharard joked with us, shared personal stories, and was kind and friendly all while being a tremendous salesperson. We really appreciated him at the end of the day. We will definetly be coming back here for our next car. Thanks to everyone involved for making a normally very stressful situation, pretty calm :).

I've never had an oil change…read moreappointment take more than 45 minutes from start to finish but there's one thing for sure - they are very consistent that it will take atleast 2 1/2 every time when it's just for an oil change. I've never had problems with the work they've done - those guys are working their butts off but the time it takes is overshadowing their work. Southern loves their buyers program and the "$5700 you can save in service" with free oil changes and whatever else but my time is 100% more valuable than saving $100 on an oil change not to mention in a huge military town, many service members aren't even here around a southern dealership long enough to benefit from that program for the life of their car. I'd rather pay for an oil change than sit here for 3 or more hours each time I have to come in. Compared to the service my husband gets from bay beach ford and their service department, I'm actually glad to be moving away and paying for oil changes now

Searching for a place…read morethat's open on Sunday , had the size required, and could make a last minute appointment sent me to Pep Boys! When I arrived I was told there were two customers ahead of me and I could relax in lounge. Less than 20 minutes later great news! The screw did not go thru the tire - no charge! Most places would have taken the $$$ and I wouldn't have known. What could have easily been a $200 expense was averted! Thanks Pep Boys

I took my 2024 Kia Soul to Pep Boys for a Virginia state inspection. I picked up the vehicle around…read more6:30 PM and drove it directly home. I did not drive the vehicle again until the following day. The next day, as soon as I started driving, the infotainment screen suddenly shut off, and multiple safety warning lights illuminated on the dashboard. This was extremely concerning because I had never experienced any issues with the vehicle before taking it to Pep Boys for the inspection. I immediately called Pep Boys and explained what had happened. I informed them that I was just now driving the vehicle after the inspection and that these issues had never occurred previously. Rather than offering to inspect the vehicle or investigate the problem, the representative immediately became defensive and stated, "We didn't do anything to the car. That has to just be a coincidence. There's nothing that can be done during a state inspection that would cause something like that to happen." I found this response disappointing and unprofessional. A better customer service approach would have been to invite me to bring the vehicle back so they could evaluate the issue and determine whether there was any connection. Additionally, after completing the inspection, Pep Boys provided me with a detailed report containing numerous recommendations for repairs and maintenance. The report included photos and videos of components such as filters and other vehicle parts, demonstrating that employees were handling and inspecting more than just the basic inspection points. Because of this, I do not believe it is appropriate to immediately dismiss the possibility that something may have occurred during the service visit. Unfortunately, this is not the first negative experience I have had with Pep Boys. On a previous occasion, I brought my Mercedes-Benz to Pep Boys for a wheel alignment. After the alignment was completed, the vehicle began driving abnormally and making unusual noises. I ultimately took the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz for diagnosis. Their technicians immediately discovered that components had not been properly secured. Mercedes-Benz documented the issues with photos and videos and advised me to return to Pep Boys to request a refund for the improperly performed alignment service. On another occasion, I brought a different vehicle to Pep Boys because it had damaged struts. At the time, I was not mechanically knowledgeable and relied on their expertise. Pep Boys informed me that the struts were bad, but instead of recommending that I repair the struts first, they sold me four new tires. I later learned that replacing tires before repairing damaged struts is not advisable because the faulty suspension can quickly cause uneven tire wear. Looking back, I feel that I was taken advantage of rather than being provided with honest and appropriate guidance. Based on these experiences, I cannot recommend Pep Boys. My concerns extend beyond the current issue with my Kia Soul and include a pattern of poor customer service, dismissive responses to customer concerns, and questionable service recommendations. Customers deserve to be treated respectfully, have their concerns taken seriously, and receive honest, competent automotive advice.

Long-time customer of their Yorktown location, glad to see they're on Southside now…read more My family has been going to their Yorktown location for years, and have had great service on all of our German cars, including a vintage Porsche 944, a BMW E39 528i, a BMW Z3, and a 2002 Mercedes SLK 230 (which was actually purchased from Auto Haus). My brother since then purchased his car (Toyota Camry) from Chai Douanglee, and couldn't have been happier with the transaction. That was nearly 2 years ago, and the car has performed flawlessly since then. I've always been happy with their service, recently getting a leak in the SLK 230's transmission fixed ath the Va Beach Location. It was cheaper than I expected, and they had me in-and-out in about 80 minutes, getting started right at the scheduled drop-off time. They offered to shuttle me elsewhere if I needed it, but I opted to just wait there in their comfortable waiting room, and catch up on some paperwork. Joey, the service tech, was incredible polite both over-the-phone, and in person, and the service tech (who's name I forget now, but will update later), was also very polite and answered all the questions I had about the car's maintenance, and the service performed.

The first day I get the car back it has the check engine light on as soon as I drive it out of the shop I return it then I drive it home it dose not start I have to tow it back there it has timings chain noises and they will not do anything about it. I think the only way it to go to court to try to get my money back for a failed repair.

They charged me $30 to look at t and provided an a free vehicle look over on other things. They let me know that it was indeed leaking and found an additional leak. They sent me a quote and I was flabbergasted at the price. The first original leak repair was quoted for $2,700. They did find another leak that would cost me an additional $1500 to repair . Way more than I was planning. I talked to a gearhead at my work and he said absolutely do not pay that. He said they do this to women, unfortunately. I talked to two other local shops who quoted me for everything on the original repair for $800 and $1100. Those quotes were for everything 17th Street was going to do for $2,700. I hate that companies do this. The icing on the cake was that when I drove my car home, I popped the hood and they didn't even attach the cover to the motor. It was just laying cockeyed on the top. It makes me question what else they didn't reinstall after looking over my car.

Completely unacceptable, frustrating experience…read more I paid $1,338 for front brakes and calipers, and within six months I was still having braking issues. When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.
