The man I believe is the owner is militant. I was talking with my daughter and was late getting my order. He approached us, interrupted, and said gruffly that they had been calling my number. We only talked for about two minutes. Everything is à la carte, which makes paying extra for relish and onions on a hot dog seem silly. Also, the soda fountain has no water option, so you have to buy bottled water. The small hot dogs cost $7.00, and the fries were just okay. Overall, this experience is a definite pass for us in the future. They need to improve their customer service skills. read more

Ordered a burger with no bun due to gluten sensitivity. The gruff man taking my order told me I had to have the bun. Then he asked the cook who said that if I didn't have a serious allergy then I could not order the burger without a bun. The guy taking the orders is...not a nice guy and kind of curt. Asked for an extra slice of cheese, paid the up charge, burger (frozen, mediocre) came with just Swiss. I went back, said we paid for a second slice, he argues tells me Swiss only. He did eventually give the extra slice of cheese, I apologized for the confusion. Went back in for a Milkshake, they are priced at $6.25 he charged me $7, 12% sales tax? Maybe. I asked him for a cup for water, (this is after buying 4 meals, 4 bottles of water, and a milkshake (~$66) and he curtly refused saying "bottled water only". Watched him argue with another guy that ordered a sandwich and got a wrap instead. The other guy got tired of arguing with him and walked away. Solid lunch place - I stumbled in here due to time constraints that kept me from hitting up the bistro across the street. For a quick, decent meal, this place does the job. The menu is simple, it's a place full of burgers, hot dogs and milkshake options. I got a simple bacon cheeseburger with fries. The burger itself was very very good. Well made, not greasy and tasty. The fries were also stellar. Maybe not everyone loves these kinds of fries, but I thought they were pretty tasty and not greasy at all. The line here was pretty long during lunchtime. There isn't a ton of seating here inside but this isn't the kind of meal you need to linger for. Plus there's ample outdoor seating which is helpful. This place is also situated in a good area close to the shopping/colonial Williamsburg area. We came here for a school trip with about 60 people. For practical reasons, we had a very limited menu. But my family has to eat gluten free. So they could clean their equipment, they served us last. Found this on yelp because there were only so many places open for lunch in the slow season of Williamsburg in January. It was practically empty which meant quick service. They have a large diverse menu. I opted for a chocolate cherry milkshake, a cheeseburger with fries, and mac and cheese bites. The milkshake was large, creamy, flavorful and basically scarfed down before I even got my meal!! The cheeseburger was very good for a diner type place...pretty impressed it wasn't overdone and was a good thickness. The fries were average and seemed a little old. The Mac and cheese bites though.... now that was the winner. Nothing super special about it bc it literally looked like Kraft Mac and cheese inside but that's honestly what made it so good! It was hot and cheesy inside and was the perfect side item. I could definitely see this place being a hot spot for students on the weekend nights. This is one of our favorite Williamsburg restaurants which we usually visit when in the area. The restaurant is appropriately named for its decor and menu. They have a decent selection of sandwiches that seem to feature hamburgers and hotdogs. We had a meat loaf sandwich, a veggie burger, and fries. Customers order at the counter and are called when the items have been prepared. Although they have interesting drinks (e.g., milkshakes), we just had a soft drink and a glass of beer. They only had one beer tap but had a limited selection of beer in bottles or cans. We enjoyed our meal; it was what we expected and were looking for. read more

They are a little understaffed at the moment (which, who isn't!?), so be aware that it might take a little longer than usual. Two stars for value but it's so close to the W&M campus you sort of expect the price inflation. The place is family run, efficient and clean. Not a tremendous amount of seating but there are plenty of patio seats available. Got burgers, a BLT and fries and a limeade. The burgers were nothing to write home about. First things a first, if you're in here during summer time and you don't order a lemonade or limeade, then what the hell are you doing? They're both home made and both so tasty and quench that summer thirst. The lemonade wasn't sour, but it was natural and non carbonated. Some sweetener may have been added, but you could see the pulp at the bottom of the cup and a slice of lemon, knowing it wasn't artificially made. My friend enjoyed her Limeade which was slightly carbonated. She said it was tarter than it was sweet, and was pleasantly surprised. Well worth the $2 and change.
