I needed to have my floor repaired after removing an old gas floor furnace in my living room. Since it's in the main part of the house, I really wanted the repair to match the original flooring as closely as possible. I texted Paul some pictures, and he was able to give me a quote over the phone. Once I agreed to move forward, he got me scheduled pretty quickly. Luis came out and explained what needed to be done. Since the original composite floor panels are no longer made, he had to cut individual pieces of white oak to match the exact size and keep the original look of the panels. If you want the job done right, hire Paul. I reached out to Paul because I read that he specialized in leveling floors. My floors were terribly unlevel and I needed a real pro to handle the job. I had already whiffed twice with two other flooring installers and was left with a flooring mess. I was adamant that the third time would be the charm and Paul did not let me down. I could tell from the first time I met Paul that he knew what he was doing and that I had chosen the right guy this time. I was pretty upfront with Paul about my situation and that I couldn't afford for this to not go well again. Paul assured me that he's been doing this for 30 years and has done many jobs more complicated than mine. Ultimately, a total of 40 (50lb) bags of self leveling concrete were used (across parts of 1000sqft). Paul was incredibly detail oriented and made sure the leveling job was done right before starting on the flooring install. Paul and his crew did a unique job for us: we needed the floor HVAC vents removed and the wood flooring repaired as if there was never a hole. The team did a phenomenal job. They removed the vents, replaced the material underneath the flooring (mostly plywood, but they also had to deal with some other materials depending on the room), and put new flooring in. You can't tell there were ever vents present. They completed the job in a reasonable amount of time and we were very happy with the final price. This review is over due by 13 years and will be a long read. Let me explain. In 20012 I did a complete remodel of my home that included 1000 sft of engineered hardwood. Paul did this work on his own, no helper, and did an AMAZING job and I had many complements. over the next few years Paul came back to fix and replace some of the flooring that had been destroyed by termites. Excellent work again. fast forward to 2022 and I built a new home. My contractor had one of his guys install the wood floors and they were never quite right. So after 18 months we found dark spots in large areas of the flooring. These turned out to be moisture and ruined flooring that had not been properly installed. This meant I had to re-buy all of the wood and adhesives and moistue barrier, $16,000 (material only), have 1900 sqft of wood removed, the floors leveled properly (to include grinding highspots) and 16 bags of self leveling material. You have no idea the mess and expense. Knowing Pauls work and his work ethic, I called and he came. It took 5 weeks and was an absolute mess but Paul and his team were professional, accomodating, and treated my home like it was thiers, no damage. The finished result was stunning and I could not have asked for anything more. I consider Paul a close friend and can tell you that he and the guys will be the only flooring team that I will ever use or recomend. I am so happy to leave this review for Paul's wood flooring and his crew. I had an incredible experience from start to finish. If you want professional service at an excellent price, Paul is the guy to call. First off, I got quotes from other companies. One thing other companies lacked is the licensed contractor on site. The whole point of getting the job done right is that the contractor has the knowledge and experience to do it right the first time. Other companies will send out crews, with a crew manager who generally isn't licensed to manage the job. Anyways, with that said, Paul was there nearly every day to manage and inspect the work, Paul even performed much of the leveling himself. Furthermore, Paul came and measured the area himself, square footage as well as linear feet for the baseboards. His measurements were exact, so I felt strong integrity with the pricing, where other companies will over inflate the surface are for more money. His pricing was transparent, didn't require a major deposit, and the additional charges at the end I felt were fair and necessary for fixing the subfloor and doing the job the right way. Additionally, Paul has been doing this for 30 years, he knows the trade and the craft. He does the job the right way the first time without asking questions. If they run into issues (which is more than normal since you cant see under old floors) he fixes it - no questions asked. The demo, quality, and professionalism was top notch. Ok, i am in the middle of our bamboo hardwood livingroom install so maybe this review is premature, but, naw, it's not. Paul was the first one to stop by and he gave me a fair quote based on the knowns at the time. Paul and his 2 of a bevy of wood craftsmen showed up on confirmed. From day one, Paul started to work on the quoted install. Within a few hours, other issues came up that Paul gladly and professionally addressed. Specifically, uneven sub floor. He advised before hand the method to be used to measure deflection and the acceptable range without having to perform work to correct. ( in this case, he showed me the excessive deflection and recommended solution, self leveling). That and a few other inherent issues, like iron rail issues that hit the stair bull nose, were addressed and corrected to ensure a satisfactory installation. Needless to say, Paul and his skilled woodworkers are ensuring a "perfect" installation. Side note, i requested over 7 quotes for this job. Some showed, one gave me quote over the phone, several followed up after bid submitted. Paul's bid was the fairest of all and yes, there are change orders as we expected with our install, he charges fairly. Especially since what we all thought was a straight forward install, turned into a custom one because of all the skeletons we uncovered that needed to be addressed and Paul remedied to ensure finished install is a quality one. Paul does some of the big stuff himself and stops in and confirms details with client and crew daily. Romero, job super, is here daily. And Janero is here every day, doing a professional job. (I hear he is the top wood worker, and it shows in the final product) The three consult daily on how to address the work flow and approach. Paul's Wood Flooring is The BEST! We received 3 different quotes for vinyl flooring for our entire house. Paul's was the best and their customer service was amazing. They began the job and ended the job on time, not a day later. Every day of the job the crew arrived and worked the entire day. Every aspect of the job was communicated to us, when more flooring needed to be purchased, transitions needed to be purchased, where to purchase flooring, etc. One of the most memorable aspects of the job was when Zvonko recognized that one of the boxes of flooring that had been laid was slightly off in color, he had the crew pull up the planks and start over. I truly believe Paul is a good guy and wants to be fair. Kind of. He did a new hardwood floor install in our kitchen and laundry that was, bid right on par with another bid we got. So not less expense that other contractors. All was fine with the install but when it came to the finish work of the sanding and coating, his team lead by Luis did a terrible job. They left these very visible, deep sanding "swirls" left by the sander all over the floor. Then varnished on top of it. AND dented our fridge with the sander. Paul was initially resistant to any kind of credit for the dented fridge but came around to a mutually compromised $200. His finisher, Luis begrudgingly had to come back multiple times to fix the floor, inconveniencing us each time, because he failed to do the job right the first time. Including, an uncomfortable conversation where he insisted he added finish coat under our fridge, which he clearly did not! He finally did the finish coat under the fridge (which should have been moved by the way as I suggested but Luis insisted on leaving it in place thus causing a host of issues). After he added a finish coat under the fridge and was ready to leave I looked at the work and it was sloppy with dark splotches at the fridge threshold. Again he had to fix it. There are still very noticeable imperfections throughout our kitchen and laundry room flooring caused by the sander and generally poor finish work...but I gave up. And no credit or real apology from Paul, the owner, only a request that I understand how hard it is to get good workers. Something along those lines. I should add, to Paul's credit, prior to all the finishing mess, too much wood flooring was ordered based on bad measurements and he agreed to buy it back. He could have stuck us with $400 worth of wood flooring but he didn't. Based on reading his many good reviews, (which is why I hired him) I'm not sure what happened but all told we left with a lot of disappointment. Sorry to say. read more

After unsuccessfully visiting several floor shops that do installation (they didn't have what I wanted), I decided to source the floor that I wanted from a floor supplier and then separately hire someone to install them. This was the best decision I ever made because I found Paul. He was a diamond of a find for three reasons. 1. Paul is resourceful. When I told Paul the type of floor I wanted, he found me a different vendor and saved me $1000! He even picked up my floors for me for a small fee. The whole process was seamless. 2. Skilled and experienced. Paul has over 15 years of strictly wood / floor experience. He took the time to level my floors before installing them, which was a painstaking process. I had a general contractor at my house while Paul was doing my floors to quote me for random fixes, and he even commented on Paul's work. Paul did it the right way and didn't cut corners the way many floor people will. 3. Professional. Paul is the nicest man you will ever meet. He is polite, considerate and has the most exceptional work ethic you will ever find. He treats your home like his. He takes his time. We hired Paul and his crew to remove flooring throughout our home (tile, carpet and Pergo), and install engineered hardwood. Total of 1,910 sq ft. Paul's crew, Ramiro and Genaro, were amazing!!! A+ all the way!!! They both arrived to work on time, 8:30 every morning, and they leave around 4:30 - 5:00. For anyone who has hired a contractor in the past, you understand how important it is for the crew to arrive on time, and to arrive on the days they say they will work. Ramiro and Genaro do not miss a beat. They work throughout the day, and pick up after themselves at the end of their shift. Again, cleanliness from your contractor is a huge plus. They are as clean as you can be considering this is such a dirty job. Removing tile is a mess, but they controlled the dust as well as possible. The second floor of our home had a few large uneven spots, and many squeaks. Ramiro and Genaro evened out the floors perfectly with compound and sanding, mitigated the dust as well as possible (again the dust is unavoidable), and also repaired the sub floors to remove all of the squeaks (and there were a lot of squeaks). No more squeaks!! YES!!!! After the old flooring was removed and the sub floors prepped, the engineered hardwood was installed. Their work is impeccable! My wife and I couldn't be happier with the final result. The project took 3 1/2 weeks to finish (included 14 steps, a landing and baseboards). To some people this may seem like a long time frame, but the end result is worth it. Ramiro and Genaro put a lot of effort into their work to ensure it is done correctly. Got a couple quotes to redo the carpeting on the 1st floor of our house with engineered wood and ended up going with Paul. Paul's quote was more inclusive than everyone else, but what set him apart was his responsiveness and accountability. Furthermore, he noticed issues with the subfloor that no other company noticed just from walking on the carpet. His level of attention even in the quoting process gave me confidence in my decision. It's been hard finding reliable contractors lately and working with Paul was very refreshing.
